Effect of coffee about the probable amelioration involving suffering from diabetes neuropathy: The spectroscopic research.
1% and 99.5% of the vaccinated individuals have developed antispike protein antibodies after the first and second doses, respectively. Previous COVID-19 infection was significantly correlated with antibody production, and age was negatively correlated. No difference was reported for sex, occupation, and diabetes.

Our interim analysis report is coherent with the available literature and research regarding the high efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine as far as seroconversion is concerned.

There are nearly 10.4 crores elderly in India, with 65% of them living in rural areas. Accessibility to healthcare is limited in rural areas. Primary care physicians deal with a fairly large number of patients from the geriatric age group. this website With the steady increase in the proportion of elderly, there is a corresponding increase in the prevalence of frailty. Frailty among the elderly leads to increased dependency, adverse health outcomes and mortality. Early identification and targeted interventions by primary care physicians could prevent these adverse outcomes and even reverse its occurrence. Knowledge about environmental and lifestyle influences on frailty would further assist primary care physicians to prevent and manage it optimally.

We interviewed 502 participants (>60 years of age) from four taluks of rural Bengaluru. Participants with frailty scores of 3 and above were considered frail, scores of 1-2 were considered prefrail. Association of frailty with lifestyle and environmental factors were tested using the Chi-square test. A value of
< 0.05 was considered significant.

Prevalence of frailty was 24.70% and prefrailty was 62.75%. Elders in age group 60 to 74 years, those living alone or with others (other than the spouse), illiterate, working elders, elderly with less than two diagnosed comorbidities, elderly with low social score and low physical activity were associated with frailty.

The young old population seems vulnerable to frailty. Health programs aimed at prevention, early detection and treatment of morbidities and frailty will improve their health.

Cardiovascular involvement is a significant cause of death in COVID pneumonia. Early electrocardiographic changes may predict cardiovascular involvement and predict mortality in COVID pneumonia patients.

A total of 250 consecutive patients with COVID-19 pneumonia admitted to the emergency were studied for electrocardiographic abnormalities and their relation to mortality.

Most patients required supplemental oxygen to maintain optimal saturation. A total of 72% showed ECG abnormalities, and the overall cohort had a mortality of 50%. New-onset atrial fibrillation, left bundle branch block or right bundle branch pattern, and ventricular premature complexes were associated with high mortality. Sinus tachycardia and atrial fibrillation were the most common arrhythmia and were significantly associated with mortality.

New-onset atrial fibrillation, intraventricular conduction defects, and sinus tachycardia are associated with increased mortality in COVID pneumonia patients.

Family planning is one of the essential health care services to promote and ensure reproductive health. Nearly 40.2 percent of men think it as a woman's responsibility as per the National Family Health Survey 4. Not much attention has been given to the male partners in the usage of contraceptives. So, this study was conducted to assess the male participation in family planning among married males in a rural area of Chhattisgarh.

A sample of 365 married males were interviewed through a semi-structured questionnaire at a primary health care center.

Only 48 (13.1%) participants were using condoms or male sterilization as a method of contraception at the time of the study. Good involvement of males in family planning was found to be (10.9%) in our study. Those who were above the poverty line and educated (graduation and above) had good involvement in family planning. The chief reason cited for not opting for male sterilization by participants was fear of physical weakness followed by family opposition.

The socio-cultural barrier in itself demotivates men from getting involved in the family planning program. This study recommends increasing health literacy regarding family planning among men by including it in the school curriculum and through awareness activities and counseling that influences them positively and motivates them to accept contraceptive services and shared decision making. Sterilization facilities should be made accessible to them to further encourage them.

Periodontal disease constitutes a group of diseases involving inflammatory aspects of the host caused by several microbial agents that affect periodontal tissues and could have systemic implications.

The present study was conducted to assess the correlation of COVID-19 infection and severity of periodontitis in subjects who has mild form of the disease as compared to subjects having moderate form of the disease.

The study included 116 subjects suffering from COVID-19 that were equally divided into two groups, each based on a convenient sampling methodology. Group I had a moderate form of COVID that required hospitalization and Group II had a mild form of COVID and were treated at home. The stage of periodontal disease was assessed in both groups. Also, laboratory parameters such as level of C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell (WBC), D-dimer, vitamin D, and lymphocytes were also assessed. Statistical analysis was done using Chi-square and multiple logistic regression analysis.

More than 75% of subjects in both groups were non-smokers. Subjects having more than one comorbid condition were more in number in Group I (51.7%) as compared to Group II (24%). Severe periodontitis (stages 2-4) was found in 81% of subjects in Group I and 46.2% of subjects in Group II [Figure 1]. The odds of getting severe periodontal disease were 6.32 times more in subjects belonging to Group I as compared to Group II. Subjects having more than one comorbid condition were 4.43 times at risk of severe periodontitis as compared to subjects with no co-morbidity.

Severe form of periodontal disease was associated with moderate-to-severe COVID-19 infection and levels of lymphocytes, WBCs, and CRP were elevated in subjects belonging to Group I.

Nutrition has an important bearing on the health of Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive children. Ascertaining the nutritional demands correctly and provisioning the nutritional needs to HIV positive/ Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) children will go a long way in maximizing the therapeutic benefits reaped through ever improving pharmaceutical initiatives, and thus, contribute to prolonging the longevity of these children who have a whole life ahead of them.

To study the nutritional status, including dietary assessment and anemia status of HIV-positive children, and compare the outcomes among children under homecare (staying with families) and orphanages/institutional care.

A cross sectional study was carried out among children between 2 and 15 years who were attending Pediatric Outpatient department (OPD) of a tertiary care hospital in western Maharashtra. Data were collected from 106 children by the interviewer himself using pretested validated questionnaire along with anthropometric take for most of the nutrients was more across all age groups. Within homecare, the mean nutrient intake of the females for all nutrients was more than the males across all age groups except 3-9 years, where it was more in males. Overall, all the children received less of water-soluble vitamins compared to recommended daily allowances (RDA), and the children of age group 5-15 years received less vitamin A and iron also.

Adequate nutrition, which is best achieved through the consumption of a balanced healthy diet, is vital for health and survival for all HIV-infected children. Specific measures to be directed to children under homecare and measures directed to improve social factors need to be undertaken.

Surgical site infections (SSIs) may be reduced by following SSI prevention measures. We assessed the SSI rate following caesarean section (CS) and gynaecologic surgery after implementing a simple SSI prevention bundle including preoperative bath and hair wash.

The study was carried out in two hospitals in North India (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research [PGIMER] and Civil Hospital CH) from August 2018 to July 2019. The SSI rate during intervention period (9 months) was compared with baseline rate (3 months). Womens' knowledge about SSI was assessed preoperatively and after counselling, postoperatively.

The baseline SSI rate after CS (n = 165) was 11.1% at PGIMER and 8.5% at CH. After gynae surgery (n = 172), it was 13% at PGIMER and 11.5% at CH. During intervention, (CS = 585, gynae surgery = 503), SSI rate was reduced significantly at PGIMER (CS 11.1% to 3.7%,
= 0.048; gynae surgery 13% to 7.1%,
= 0.027), but not at CH (CS 8.5% to 8.2%,
= 0.903; gynae surgery 11.5% to 11.significantly.
About 10% of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the time of diagnosis have more than one risk factor for developing foot ulceration, and it increases to 15% in a lifetime. The risk of development of Diabetic foot ulcers/gangrene can be prevented by the patient's self-foot care practice at home. The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of awareness of self-foot care practice among diabetic patients in a rural setting. The study also aimed to identify the factors preventing dry or wet diabetic gangrene development and subsequent amputation.

A hospital-based cross-sectional study was carried out among 1687 people with diabetes mellitus (DM) who attended orthopedic and diabetic OPD in a tertiary care hospital in Kamrup, Assam, India. An appropriate self-explanatory questionnaire about knowledge of self-foot care practice was given to all study participants. Foot examination was performed by authors participated in the study on all patients. The observations and results were categorized according to the International Diabetes Federation foot risk categories.
