Drug-eluting stent (DES) plus drug-coated balloon (DCB) is a safe and effective treatment strategy for coronary artery bifurcation lesions, but there is no report about this strategy being used for left main (LM) bifurcation lesions. We aim to explore the efficacy and safety of DES plus DCB in the treatment of LM bifurcation lesions.

A total of 100 patients diagnosed with LM bifurcation lesions by coronary angiography were retrospectively enrolled at our center from January 2018 to December 2019. They received either a two-stent strategy or a main branch (MB) stenting plus side branch (SB) DCB strategy and were accordingly divided into the 2-DES group and the DES + DCB group. Patients treated with DES + DCB were compared with a cohort of matched patients treated with a 2-DES strategy. Clinical data was collected and quantitative coronary analysis was performed.

For immediate postoperative angiography, though the two groups had no differences in the minimal luminal diameter (MLD) and luminal stenosis of MB, the DES + DCB group had significantly lower SB ostial MLD and a higher degree of residual lumen stenosis than the 2-DES group (
< 0.05). At the time of follow-up, the SB ostial MLD of the DES + DCB group was higher than that of the 2-DES group, but lumen stenosis, late lumen loss (LLL), and LLL at the distal end of the left MB were all smaller than those of the 2-DES group (
< 0.05). Furthermore, the incidence of lumen restenosis and MACE between the two groups had no significance.

The combination of DES and DCB is relatively safe and effective for the treatment of LM bifurcation lesions, and this strategy seems to have advantages in reducing LLL at the SB ostium.

There is a paucity of real-world data regarding the clinical impact of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) interruption (temporary or permanent) among patients at high ischemic risk. The aim of this study was to assess the risk of cardiovascular events after interruption of DAPT in high-risk PCI population.

This study used data from the Fuwai PCI registry, a large, prospective cohort of consecutive patients who underwent PCI. We assessed 3,931 patients with at least 1 high ischemic risk criteria of stent-related recurrent ischemic events proposed in the 2017 ESC guidelines for focused update on DAPT who were free of major cardiac events in the first 12 months. The primary ischemic endpoint was 30-month major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events, and the key safety endpoints were BARC class 2, 3, or 5 bleeding and net adverse clinical events.

In this study, we examine how aspects of African American Manhood are related to health. Using cross-sectional data from a criterion sample of 300 African American men 35-73 years old (M = 46.53), we examined how aspects of African American Manhood, demographic characteristics, and health conditions were related to self-rated health. When we controlled for demographics, SES and health conditions, different aspects of manhood were associated with good/excellent health. Across four linear regression models, we found that the Religion and Spirituality factor was the component of African American Manhood most strongly associated with good/excellent self-rated health. The Religion and Spirituality factor was the only aspect of African American Manhood that remained significant when we controlled for SES and health conditions. The etiology and pathogenesis of SLE are complicated in which dysfunction of CD4+ T cells is largely engaged. In this study, we investigated the manners of CD4+ T cells in antibody production in a lupus-like mouse model through peritoneal injection of pristane reagent. With the increase in total IgG/IgM and autoantibody production after 6 months, CD4+ T cells exhibited activated phenotypes with the elevated CD44, ICOS, OX40, and PD-1 expression. Pristane injection induced the increase in IgM levels in both wild-type and T cell-deficient TCRα -/- mice whereas IgG, IgG1, and IgG2a production was impaired. When adoptively transferring CD4+ T cells into T cell-deficient mice or coculturing CD4+ T cells and B cells in vitro, it was found that CD4+ T cells derived from pristane-treated mice could help the production of total IgG as well as IgG1/IgG2a in a more efficient manner both in vivo and in vitro. While MHC was dispensable for IgG production, ICAM-1 likely functioned as an attenuating factor for IgG production. Our study thus reveals that CD4+ T cells in pristane-treated mice play important roles in IgG production, which implies the critical roles in the induction of pathological autoantibodies in MHC-independent and ICAM-1-dependent manners.Dynamics of phytoplankton and phosphorus were quantified in Lake Dillon, Colorado, over 35 years of P control. The lake provides an example of early intervention for P enrichment rather than remediation of advanced eutrophication. Phosphorus control began with tertiary treatment of effluent, which caused a phytoplankton decline (8.1-4.5 μg L-1 chla); a second decline (4.6-2.5 μg L-1 chla) occurred later following replacement of failing septic systems. Results showed that bioavailable phosphorus (BAP) loading was the only significant correlate of phytoplankton biomass; total P loading was not significantly related to biomass measured as chlorophyll. Phytoplankton composition changed greatly over the study interval, even though there was no long-term trend in potential causes of phytoplankton abundance other than reduction in BAP. Gradual decline of BAP loading also appears to have been the cause of large, gradual changes in phytoplankton community composition. Accordingly, this paper puts forward a novel regression-based strategy based on the Supervised Principal Component Analysis (SPCA), benefiting from the Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space. Indeed, by conducting one kind of variance-based sensitivity analysis, a renowned method exclusively customized for models with orthogonal inputs, on SPCA regression, the impact of the correlation structure of input variables is considered. The ability of the suggested technique is evaluated with five test cases as well as three hydrologic and hydraulic models, and the results are compared with those obtained from the correlation ratio method; Taken as a benchmark solution, which is a robust but quite complicated approach in terms of programming. It is found that the proposed method satisfactorily identifies the sensitivity ordering of model inputs.
