This was a retrospective chart review of 16 patients who underwent ramal bone grafting for IOR fractures. In this study, we found that miR-142-3p was expressed lower in cells susceptible to PRRSV infection than in cells less or no permissive to PRRSV infection. Subsequently, we showed that overexpression of miR-142-3p remarkably inhibited PRRSV infection in PAMs, while blockage of endogenous miR-142-3p significantly enhanced PRRSV replication. Then, we demonstrated that miR-142-3p directly targeted Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac1), a member of Rho GTPases family, by using luciferase reporter assay and UV cross-linking and immunoprecipitation (CLIP) assay. Importantly, we verified that miR-142-3p inhibited PRRSV entry into PAMs and accordingly suppressed PRRSV infection by downregulating Rac1 expression. These findings reveal an important role of miR-142-3p in modulating PRRSV infection and provide us with some ideas for developing novel antiviral therapy against PRRSV infection.
Knee arthroplasty is a major surgery with potential significant blood loss. Assess the efficacy and safety of topical administration of 3g of tranexamic acid (TXA) in terms of reducing blood loss in knee arthroplasty.

A randomized, phase III, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial has been conducted. We included 150 patients in 2parallel treatment groups (75 per arm). The solution was administered topically intra-articular after cementation and prior to capsular closure. Analytical determinations were made before and after surgery to quantify blood loss.

Total blood loss for the placebo group was 831.5ml and 662.3ml for the TXA group. The difference between the 2groups was 169.2ml; which means a save of 20.4 per cent; this difference being statistically significant (P<.001). There were no differences in terms of the onset of ambulation, days of admission or Visual Analogue Scale at one month of surgery. Ten patients were rejected for presurgical urinary tract infection, metal allergy, selection failure, patellar weakening, prosthetic instability, intrasurgical tibial fracture, change of indication to unicompartimental prosthesis and a loss of follow-up. There was only one complication unrelated to the investigational drug (bladder balloon).

Describe the population incidence of hip arthroscopy from 1998 to 2018 and to project the trends for the year 2030, as well as to describe the variations in the population incidence between the autonomous communities.

A retrospective review of the minimum basic data set from 1998 to 2018 was carried out. Temporal evolution was analyzed and the variables associated with the indication (age, sex, regions) were identified. For each region, the crude rate per 100,000 inhabitants was calculated. The 2019-2030 projection was made using linear regression.

In Spain between 1998 and 2018 a total of 10,663 arthroscopic hip surgeries were carried out. The population incidence in 1998 was 0.14 CAC per 100,000 inhabitants, while in 2018 it was 4.09. For the year 2030 an increase of 156.9% in the number of arthroscopic hip surgeries is expected (P<.001). On average, 57.7% of all procedures (95% CI 55.2-60.2) were done in men and the highest incidence was found in ages ≤44 years. The geographical variation was 81%, being up to 15.4 times the difference in incidence per 100,000 inhabitants between some regions.

Women carry out a greater risk of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture. However, outcomes following ACL reconstruction remain unclear. The aim of this study was to analyze the outcomes in women following ACL reconstruction and compare these outcomes with men.

Retrospective study of a prospective database of patients treated with ACL reconstruction between January 2017 and December 2018. Outcome measures included Tegner activity scale, Lysholm scale, EVA scale, and IKDC evaluation form. Clinical significance was measured with minimally clinical important difference, and patient acceptable symptom state.

A total of 33 women were matched with 99 men. The mean follow-up was 36 months. Women showed significant improvement from preoperative PROs to the latest follow-up, with no differences between groups. In patients under 25 years old, there was less significant IKDC subjective score in women compared to men. There were no significant differences in frequency of patients achieving MCID and PASS in women compared with men.

Cross-sectional observational study, analyzing referrals from Primary Care to Orthopaedic Surgery during the first half of the years 2018, 2019, and 2021. The number of referrals issued by each doctor and each Primary Care Healthcare Center was examined, according to the classification of the different Basic Healthcare Zones.

There is great variability in the number of referrals, both according to the type of Basic Healthcare Zone and by each Primary Care facultative. The referral ratios behaved uniformly over time (P<0.001). Due to a large number of referrals, 2scenarios have been constructed In the first scenario, the referral ratio would be in the middle of the referral rate spectrum. In the second scenario, the lowest referral ratios recorded have been taken as a reference. The reduction of variability in the 2scenarios assumed provides a significant reduction in the demand for care.

A large body of knowledge on jasmonate biosynthesis, signal transduction as well as its functions in diverse plant processes has been gained in the past two decades. In addition, there exists extensive crosstalk between jasmonate pathway and other phytohormone pathways, such as salicylic acid (SA) and gibberellin (GA), in co-regulation of plant immune status, fine-tuning the balance of plant growth and defense, and so on, which were mostly learned from studies in the dicotyledonous model plants Arabidopsis thaliana and tomato but much less in monocot. Interestingly, existing evidence suggests both conservation and functional divergence in terms of core components of jasmonate pathway, its biological functions and signal integration with other phytohormones, between monocot and dicot. In this review, we summarize the current understanding on JA signal initiation, perception and regulation, and highlight the distinctive characteristics in different lineages of plants.
Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) have distinct clinical presentation and evolution, with paucity of reports on overlap syndrome. We aimed to better characterize this entity.

We report four additional cases from the Montpellier university hospital. We also performed a systematic literature review, according to PRISMA guidelines, in Medline, Embase, Web of science, Cochrane Library, and grey literature. Demographic, clinical, and paraclinical data on SS and AAV were analysed.

A total of 3133 articles was identified in databases, with 2695 articles screened for eligibility. After exclusion, we had 30 articles on 40 patients to analyse, in addition to 4 patients from our local recruitment (44 patients overall). Patients were female in 81.8%, with median age at AAV onset of 63.5years. All patients but one presented with SS before, or concomitantly to the diagnosis of AAV, with a median delay of 12months between both diagnoses.
