2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) is a typical chlorophenol that has been widely used in industrial production and caused serious pollution to the environment. In this study, the performance of Fe/Ni bimetallic nanoparticles supported on polystyrene cation exchange resin (Fe/Ni-D072) to remove 2,4-DCP was evaluated. The effects including the doping amount of Ni, the dosage of Fe/Ni-DCP, the initial concentration of 2,4-DCP, and pH value of the solution on the removal efficiency were also investigated. The results showed that when the initial concentration of 2,4-DCP was 20 mg/L and pH = 7.3, 90% of 2,4-DCP could be dechlorinated by Fe/Ni-D072 (Ni% = 30 wt%, dosage 6.7 g/L) after 12 h reaction. The dechlorination process followed a pseudo-first-order model, and the reaction constant was 0.252 h-1. In addition, the effects of humic acid and common coexisting ions on dechlorination were studied. The results showed that humic acid with a low concentration (5 mg/L) and CO32- restrained the degradation of 2,4-DCP. The dechlorination products of 2,4-DCP were identified by HPLC and the result showed phenol was the main product with a slight amount of 2-CP as the dechlorination intermediate, and 4-CP was barely detected. These results suggest that Fe/Ni-D072 was a promising catalytic material for the removal of chlorophenol and has great application prospects in groundwater remediation. In China, the first and also the latest version of national childhood lead exposure control guidelines was issued by the National Health Commission in 2006, when the reference value of high blood lead exposure was set at 100 μg/L and lead poisoning was set at 200 μg/L. selleck kinase inhibitor Lead exposure levels have been decreasing in China over the last few decades, with almost all blood lead concentrations in children under 7 years of age being under 100 μg/L in non-industrial areas. However, lead concentrations lower than 100 μg/L in blood in children are associated with neurodevelopmental deficits. Thus, if the reference value remains at a high level, a large percent of children with exposure levels that are high but lower than the current reference value will be diagnosed as 'safe' and be ignored. Thus, we appeal that the reference value should be lowered according to local actual exposure level. A more stringent reference value would give care givers, doctors, communities, and officials more opportunities to take action earlier.Solid wastes are generated from human activities which could cause damage to the ecological environment and human beings. In recent years, there has been extensive research on solid wastes utilized as precursors, aggregates, fibers, etc. to prepare the geopolymers, which has invariably been a research hotspot. This review classifies the solid wastes utilized for geopolymers into three main categories industrial waste, agricultural waste, and municipal waste. Accordingly, we systematically dissert solid wastes-based geopolymer from the perspectives of structure, properties, and application. The chemical composition, morphology, particle size, thermal conductivity, and other characteristics of solid wastes can trigger changes in the specific properties of geopolymers. On this account, solid wastes-based geopolymers have great potential in the domain of concrete, fireproof materials, impermeable materials, catalysts, adsorbents, and energy storage materials, etc. More importantly, geopolymers have obvious advantages in immobilizing heavy metals in solid wastes. Therefore, it can demonstrate geopolymer is a sustainable and environmentally friendly "green material". However, it still confronts the challenges of solid wastes utilized in geopolymer (technology, economy, administration). It requires the government, enterprises, and the public to work together for co-governance to accomplish industrialization and commercialization of solid wastes-based geopolymer.DNA-stable isotope probing (SIP) with 13C labeled phenanthrene (PHE) as substrate was used to identify specific bacterial degraders during natural attenuation (NA) and bioaugmentation (BA) in petroleum contaminated soil. BA, with the addition of a bacterial suspension mixture named GZ, played a significant role in PHE degradation with a higher PHE removal rate (∼90%) than that of NA (∼80%) during the first 3 days, and remarkably altered microbial communities. Of the five strains introduced in BA, only two genera, particularly, Ochrobactrum, Rhodococcus were extensively responsible for PHE-degradation. Six (Bacillus sp., Acinetobacter sp., Xanthomonas sp., Conexibacter sp., Acinetobacter sp. link2 and Staphylococcus sp.) and seven (Ochrobactrum sp., Rhodococcus sp., Alkanindiges sp., Williamsia sp., Sphingobium sp., Gillisia sp. and Massilia sp.) bacteria responsible for PHE degradation were identified in NA and BA treatments, respectively. This study reports for the first time the association of Xanthomonas sp., Williamsia sp., and Gillisia sp. to PHE degradation.Despite the contribution of currently licensed live, oral rotavirus vaccines (LORVs) to alleviating the burden of severe disease and death from rotavirus gastroenteritis, those vaccines have proven less efficacious in resource-limited settings than in high- and middle-income countries. It has been proposed that the residual burden of rotavirus disease might be overcome with parenterally administered vaccines, or next-generation rotavirus vaccines (NGRV). To better define the progress of development of these vaccines, a meeting of vaccine developers and manufacturers engaged in NGRV research and development was convened in Geneva in June 2019. Several NRGVs are in various stages of preclinical development, and two have already entered clinical testing. The vaccine platforms include subunit protein, inactivated whole virus, virus-like particle and RNA-based vaccines. Meeting participants included groups involved in NGRV development, scientists investigating correlates of protection of rotavirus vaccines, and representatives of international organizations with insight into considerations for vaccine introduction. This report summarizes the presentations shared at the meeting.
The effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr)removable partial denture (RPD)frameworks fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) is not well understood.
The purpose of this invitro study was to evaluate the suitability of SLM-fabricated Co-Cr alloys followed by heat treatment as a framework for RPDs by determining the microstructure and mechanical properties.
Dumbbell specimens and RPD frameworks were fabricated by using SLM followed by heat treatment. The effects of the heat treatment on the microstructure were studied by using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Tensile and insertion and removal tests were performed to study the mechanical responses of selective laser melting followed by heat treatment specimens, including the ultimate tensile strength (UTS), 0.2% yield strength (0.2% YS), elongation (E), and retentive forces. link3 Specimens fabricated by using the traditional lost-wax process were gested that SLM followed by heat treatment is an efficient strategy for fabricating RPD frameworks.
How pink gingival porcelain color is perceived by participants classified according to profession and sex is unclear.
The purpose of this invitro study was to evaluate the degree of correlation between the ordering of color tabs by participants classified according to profession, years of dental work experience, and sexand the ideal chromatic order based on the color coordinate L∗ (lightness).
Twenty-one colored specimens made of Heraceram pink gingival porcelain were used. A group of 352 participants (118 men and 234 women) comprised of dental students (n=126), dentists (n=54), dental assistants (n=56), and laypersons (n=116) were enrolled. They were asked to order the specimens starting from the lightest to the darkest. The Kendall coefficients of concordance W and correlation T were used to determine whether the individuals in each experimental group rating the specimens were consistent and accurate.
The degree of agreement between the ideal ordering and that carried out by the participants within the different professional categories was greater than 0.8 in all assessments. No statistically significant differences were found among the groups in relation to professional category, work experience, or sex (P>.05). The Kendall coefficients were higher in the ranking of the darker specimens for all groups of participants.
No statistically significant differences were found among dentists, dental assistants, dental students, and laypersons in the arrangement of pink porcelain specimens according to their lightness. In addition, in all groups, the darker gingival specimens were ordered significantly better according to their lightness than the lighter specimens.

Extra-short implants in the posterior mandible can increase the functional surface area and reduce the risk of implant overload. However, reports of treatment using single extra-short implants in the posterior mandible with a midterm follow-up are lacking.
The purpose of this prospective pilot study was to evaluate the clinical behavior of single extra-short 4-mm implants placed in the posterior mandible during a follow-up of 3 years from implant restoration.
A total of 18 participants with a single extra-short 4-mm-long implant placed in the area of the mandibular first molars participated in this pilot study. The survival and success rates of implants, as well as biologicand prosthetic variables, were evaluated during a follow-up of 3 years from implant restoration.
The survival rate of the implants was 100%, with no implant or biologiccomplications recorded. One prosthetic complication (loosening of 1 screw) was observed.
Single extra-short (4 mm) implants in the posterior mandible showed favorable clinical behavior during the first 3-years of follow-up.

In Sweden, social workers uses the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) as their main assessment tool when assessing individuals with risky substance use (RSU) or substance use disorder. The aim of this study is to identify among individuals with RSU, the associations of ASI Composite Scores (CSs) with future imprisonment controlling for age, education level and gender.
Baseline ASI-data was merged with national registry data on prison sentences (2003-2016). Cox regression was used to estimate the associations between CSs for alcohol, drugs other than alcohol, legal, family and social relationships, employment, mental- and physical health and future imprisonment for adults (n = 14,914) assessed for RSU.
The regression showed that all ASI CSs, age, education level and gender were significantly associated with imprisonment post ASI base-line assessment. The variables with the strongest association with imprisonment were ASI legal CS, followed by ASI drugs other than alcohol CS, ASI employment CS and being a male.
