Objective Increased impulsiveness is a risk factor for health-endangering behavior patterns. Little is known about whether increased impulsiveness is associated with Internet Use Disorder (IUD) and whether individuals with various main activities on the internet differ in their levels of impulsiveness. Methods In total, we screened 8,230 vocational students for problematic internet use with the Compulsive Internet Use Scale (CIUS). Participants scoring at least 21 points in the CIUS took part in an in-depth diagnostic interview. IUD was assessed according to the criteria of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) as suggested in the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Impulsiveness was assessed with the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-15). We analyzed the data using binary logistic regression models and nonparametric tests. Results Participants with IUD (n = 144) showed increased impulsiveness (p = .005) compared to those without IUD (n = 774). Participants with different main activities on the internet did not differ in their levels of impulsiveness. Conclusions Results indicate that impulsiveness is associated with IUD, independent of the main internet activity. This highlights the necessity to consider patients' impulsiveness in prevention and therapeutic approaches. Because of the cross-sectional study design, further research with longitudinal study designs is needed.A wide range of complex in vitro models (CIVMs) are being developed for scientific research and preclinical drug efficacy and safety testing. The hope is that these CIVMs will mimic human physiology and pathology and predict clinical responses more accurately than the current cellular models. The integration of these CIVMs into the drug discovery and development pipeline requires rigorous scientific validation, including cellular, morphological, and functional characterization; benchmarking of clinical biomarkers; and operationalization as robust and reproducible screening platforms. Stent-based interventions change the biomechanical properties of FP arteries. However, no clinical tool for functional imaging is established for quantitative measurements in vivo. Four-dimensional-flow magnetic resonance imaging enables a detailed evaluation of the hemodynamics of the central and - more challenging - the peripheral arteries. The present study aimed to determine the feasibility of assessing pulse wave velocities (PWV) as a marker of vessel stiffness in PAD patients with multiple spot stents and to compare the values with age-matched subjects and young-adult healthy subjects. Patients and methods Contrast-free 4D-flow MRI was performed in seven PAD patients with focally stented FP arteries, five age-matched subjects after exclusion of PAD, and five young, healthy adults. PWV values were calculated from flow curves by using the foot-to-foot method. Results Four-D-flow MRI sequences offering high spatial and temporal resolution enables quantification of flow velocity measurements and estimation of PWVs. Assessment of segmental PWV as a surrogate of vascular stiffness in focally stented femoral arteries is feasible. PWV values across all groups were 15.6±5.2 m/s, 13.3±4.1 m/s, and 9.9±2.2 m/s in PAD patients, senior-aged volunteers, and young-adult volunteers respectively. PWV values in PAD patients were similar with those in the senior-aged volunteers group (15.6±5.2 vs. 13.3 ±4.1 years, p=0.43). However, when compared to the young-adult volunteers, PAD patients had a statistically significantly higher mean local PWV (15.6±5.2 m/s vs. 9.9±2.2 m/s, p less then 0.05). Conclusions Calculating segmental PWV in the femoral arteries is feasible in PAD patients with focally stented FP arteries. PWV values in PAD patients were similar to those in senior-aged volunteers, both of which were higher than in young-adult volunteers.

The treatments used in Leganés Mental Asylum are described and are compared with those used in other Spanish psychiatric institutions.Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is often a difficult condition to diagnose, since it occurs insidiously and is a diagnosis of exclusion. Patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NFT1) have been associated with severe exacerbations of PH. To our knowledge, less than 20 cases of PH in NFT1 patients have been reported. However, the severity of presenting symptoms requires physicians to be aware of this association and pursue the appropriate diagnostic workup. In our report, we present a 54-year-old NFT1 patient who presented with worsening dyspnea secondary to PH, which was being treated with trepostanil and macitetan. She required a right heart catheterization to assess her pulmonary artery pressures (which remained elevated). She was placed on tadalafil in addition to trepostanil and macitetan and noted significant resolution of her symptoms. Further studies are required to explore the association between PH and NFT1 and examine the efficacy of triple therapy with endothelin receptor antagonists, phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors, and parenteral prostanoids in the initial treatment of PH in the aforementioned patient population.
Photovoice is a method used in community-based participatory research that places cameras in the hands of people and invites them to record their lives, engage in critical dialogue, and advocate for changes needed in their communities. This article presents a review of the literature from 2010 to 2019 on photovoice projects implemented with U.S. youth informed by an emancipatory research conceptual framework.

Information on 30 project elements was extracted from each of the 47 publications, representing 39 unique projects that met our inclusion criteria. Projects were also assessed for whether they met the goals of photovoice as originally conceptualized by Wang and Burris in 1997.

Participants, policy makers, and community members were affected by photovoice projects. Outcomes ranged from researcher specific needs to community change and policy awareness and changes. Common outcomes included (1) gaining knowledge, (2) participant empowerment, (3) community change/action, (4) new partnerships, and (5) reaching policy makers. Of the 39 unique projects, 17 addressed all three photovoice goals, 12 addressed two, and 10 addressed only one. All the projects met the goal of enabling participants to record and reflect their community's strengths and concerns. Twenty-four were aligned with all three principles of emancipatory research.

The aim of this study was to investigate texture features from T
maps as a marker for distinguishing the maturation of repair tissue after 2 different cartilage repair procedures.

Seventy-nine patients, after either microfracture (MFX) or matrix-associated chondrocyte transplantation (MACT), were examined on a 3-T magnetic resonance (MR) scanner with morphological and quantitative (T
mapping) MR sequences 2 years after surgery. Twenty-one texture features from a gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) were extracted. The texture feature difference between 2 repair types was assessed individually for the femoral condyle and trochlea/anterior condyle using linear regression models. The stability and reproducibility of texture features for focal cartilage were calculated using intra-observer variability and area under curve from receiver operating characteristics.
