To compare synchronous methods of communication to Medic Bleep, an instant messaging asynchronous platform, and observe its impact on clinical workflow, quality of work life and associations with patient safety outcomes and hospital core operations.

Cohorts of healthcare professionals were followed using the Time Motion Study methodology over a 2-week period, using both the asynchronous platform and the synchronous methods like the non-cardiac pager. Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to identify staff attitudes towards both platforms.

A statistically significant figure (p<0.01) of 20.1 minutes' reduction in average task completion was seen with asynchronous communication, saving 58.8% of time when compared with traditional synchronous methods. Herein the synthesis of 4'-methoxy- and 4'-fluoro-substituted gemcitabine analogues along with their phosphoramidate prodrugs is described. Among these derivatives, 4'-fluorogemcitabine proved to be active against varicella zoster virus (VZV, TK+ strain) with an EC50 of 0.042 μM and produced significant cytotoxicity (CC50 = 0.11 μM). Upon derivatization of this trifluoro nucleoside as its prodrug, decreased anti-VZV activity was observed, but with a concomitantly improved selectivity index (SI = 36). This study aims to investigate sustainability issues in tourism by considering the voices of two relevant stakeholders involved in "co-producing" the tourism experience tourists and tour operators. link3 Based on a qualitative study conducted in Italy, the article critically discusses how travelers and tour operators craft the sustainability idea, the implicit assumptions that rely on their different perspectives, and their practical implications. The results highlight four different narratives on sustainable tourism, which are related to different assumptions on sustainability and actions legitimated to generate sustainable value. Finally, the article offers insights into how to develop a more holistic and critical approach to sustainable tourism through education and communication.
