evelopment of cSS specific diagnostic criteria.Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) risk factors, such as hypertension and obesity. Associations between PTSD and COVID-19 outcomes may affect Veterans Health Administration (VA) services, as PTSD occurs at higher rates among veterans than the general population. While previous research has identified the potential for increased PTSD prevalence resulting from COVID-19 as a public health concern, no known research examines the effect of pre-existing PTSD on COVID-19 test-seeking behavior or infection. This study aimed to evaluate pre-existing PTSD as a predictor of COVID-19 testing and test positivity. The sample consisted of 6,721,407 veterans who sought VA care between March 1, 2018 and February 29, 2020. Veterans with a previous PTSD clinical diagnosis were more likely to receive COVID-19 testing than veterans without PTSD. However, among those with available COVID-19 test results (n = 168,032), veterans with a previous PTSD clinical diagnosis were less likely to test positive than veterans without PTSD. Elevated COVID-19 testing rates among veterans with PTSD may reflect increased COVID-19 health concerns and/or hypervigilance. Lower rates of COVID-19 test positivity among veterans with PTSD may reflect increased social isolation, or overrepresentation in the tested population due to higher overall use of VA services. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the identification of patient-level psychiatric predictors of testing and test positivity can facilitate the targeted provision of medical and mental health services to individuals in need.
The aim of this study was to estimate the association between common mental disorders and mortality in breast cancer patients.
This retrospective cohort study included women aged 18-80 for whom an initial diagnosis of breast cancer was documented in one of 200 general practices in the UK between January 2008 and December 2012. The main outcome of this study was the mortality within 5 years of the index date as a function of depression, anxiety disorder, and sleep disorders, using Cox regression models.
A total of 6656 women (mean age 57.9 (standard deviation 12.0 years)) were included in the study. Within 5 years of the index date, 461 (6.9%) of women were deceased. Depression (HR 1.44 (95% CI 1.17-1.78)), and sleep disorders (HR 1.37 (95% CI 1.02-1.84)) were significantly associated with death within 5 years.

However, many researchers have ignored the natural special morphology of biomass and the influence of oxygen on the sodium storage performance. Here, we use the cilia of the setaria viridis as the precursor to obtain a fiber-like oxygen-doped hierarchical porous hard carbon (SVC). The sodium storage mechanism of SVC is studied by controlling the pyrolysis temperature. Studies have shown that the natural fibrous structure and vertical holes of SVC can provide channels for the rapid penetration of electrolyte. The appropriate nanocrystal size affords commodious circumstances for the insertion of Na+. More importantly, the increase in carbonization temperature will change the bonding mode of carbon and oxygen, promote the rupture of single bonds and retain the existence of double bonds, which is beneficial to the improvement of coulombic efficiency and reversible capacity. The hybrid sodium storage mechanism composed of insertion behavior and capacitance behavior promotes SVC to have higher reversible capacity (285.4 mAh g-1 at 0.05 A g-1) and excellent rate performance (90.7 mAh g-1 at 5 A g-1). eFT-508 This research provides some new ideas for the study of hard carbon.In aquatic environments, assessment of microplastic concentrations is increasing worldwide but environments from developing countries remain under-evaluated. Due to disparities of facilities, financial resources and human resources between countries, protocols of sampling, analysis and observations used in developed countries cannot be fully adapted in developing ones, and required specific adaptations. In Viet Nam, an adapted methodology was developed and commonly adopted by local researchers to implement a microplastic monitoring in sediments and surface waters of 21 environments (rivers, lakes, bays, beaches) of eight cities or provinces. Microplastic concentrations in surface waters varied from 0.35 to 2522 items m-3, with the lowest concentrations recorded in the bays and the highest in the rivers. Fibers dominated over fragments in most environments (from 47% to 97%). The microplastic concentrations were related to the anthropogenic pressure on the environment, pointing out the necessity in a near future to identify the local sources of microplastics.
To analyze the anatomic characteristics of the left atrium and pulmonary veins in individuals undergoing ablation for atrial fibrillation and to identify possible anatomic factors related with recurrence.
We retrospectively reviewed the CT angiography studies done to plan radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation in 95 patients (57 men; mean age, 65±10 y). We reviewed the anatomy of the pulmonary veins and recorded the diameters of their ostia as well as the diameter and volume of the left atrium. We analyzed these parameters according to the type of arrhythmia and the response to treatment.
In 71 (74.7%) patients, the anatomy of the pulmonary veins was normal (i.e., two right pulmonary veins and two left pulmonary veins). Compared to patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, patients with persistent atrial fibrillation had slightly larger diameter of the left pulmonary veins (left superior pulmonary vein 17.9±2.6mm vs. 16.7±2.2mm, p=0.04; left inferior pulmonary vein 15.3±2mm vs. 13.8±2.2mm, p=0.009) and larger left atrial volume (91.9±24.9cm
vs. 70.7±20.3mm
, p=0.001). After 22.1 ± 12.1 months' mean follow-up, 41 patients had sinus rhythm. Compared to patients in whom the sinus rhythm was restored, patients with recurrence had greater left atrial volume (81.4±23.0mm

They are grouped as small EVs or exosomes, large EVs such as microvesicles (MVs) and apoptotic bodies, resulting from distinct mechanisms of generation. EVs are released into the extracellular space, in most human biological fluids and tissues, including atherosclerotic plaques. They transport complex cargo of bioactive molecules, including proteins, lipids and genetic material and are therefore involved in pathophysiological pathways of cell-cell communication. link2 Indeed, EVs are involved in several processes such as inflammation, coagulation, vascular dysfunction, angiogenesis and senescence, contributing to the initiation and progression of atherothrombotic diseases. Consequently, they behave as a determinant of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability leading to major cardiovascular disorders. Over the last decade, the field of EVs research has grown, highlighting their involvement in atherosclerosis. However, limitations in both detection methodologies and standardisation have hindered implementation of EVs in the clinical settings. This review summarizes the effect of EVs in atherosclerosis development, progression and severity, with specific attention devoted to their ambivalent roles in senescence and hemostasis. This review will also highlight the role of MVs as multifaceted messengers, able to promote or to attenuate atherosclerosis progression. Finally, we will discuss the main technical challenges and prerequisites of standardization for driving EVs to the clinics and delineate their relevance as emergent biomarkers and innovative therapeutic approaches in atherosclerosis.
Heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is associated with premature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Semi-automated plaque characterization (SAPC) by coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA) provides information regarding coronary plaque burden and plaque characterization. Our aim was to quantify and characterize the coronary plaque burden of patients with FH using SAPC analysis and to identify which factors are related to plaque burden and plaque characteristics. A second aim was to analyse the prognostic implications of these parameters.
Two hundred and fifty-nine asymptomatic individuals with molecularly determined FH were enrolled in this follow-up cohort study and underwent a coronary CTA analysed with SAPC.

Mean age was 46.9 (10.7) years (130 women, 50.2%). link3 Median plaque burden was 25.0% (19.0-29.0), non-calcified plaque burden 22.83% (17.94-26.88), calcified plaque-burden 1.12% (0.31-2.86) and CCS 8.9 (0-93). To investigate an augmented reality (AR)-guided endovascular puncture to facilitate successful transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS).
An AR navigation system for TIPS was designed. Three-dimensional (3D) liver models including portal and hepatic vein anatomy were extracted from preoperative CT images. The 3D models, intraoperative subjects, and electromagnetic tracking information of the puncture needles were integrated through the system calibration. In the AR head-mounted display, the 3D models were overlaid on the subjects, which was a liver phantom in the first phase and live beagle dogs in the second phase. One life-size liver phantom and 9 beagle dogs were used in the experiments. Imaging after puncture was performed to validate whether the needle tip accessed the target hepatic vein successfully.
Endovascular punctures of the portal vein of the liver phantom were repeated 30 times under the guidance of the AR system, and the puncture needle successfully accessed the target vein during each attempt. In the experiments of live canine subjects, the punctures were successful in 2 attempts in 7 beagle dogs and in 1 attempt in the remaining 2 dogs. The puncture time of needle from hepatic vein to portal vein was 5-10 s in the phantom experiments and 10-30 s in the canine experiments.
The feasibility of AR-based navigation facilitating accurate and successful portal vein access in preclinical models of TIPS was validated.
