YouTube is the most used social media website, and there is a growing body of literature examining the reliability of healthcare information on this platform. Patients seeking men's health information may be more likely to use YouTube owing to the sensitivity of these issues.
The objective of this study is to review the literature for studies related to the reliability of YouTube videos about men's health topics.
A literature review was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar for publications related to the reliability of YouTube videos about men's health as of July 1,2020.
There were 17 studies related to YouTube and Men's Health. Most videos were found to be unreliable, and videos uploaded by physicians or healthcare organizations were usually more reliable. However, there were no studies in which more reliable videos had higher metrics of user engagement (views, likes, comments) than unreliable videos and there were several studies where unreliable videos had higher metrics of user engagement. link2 Inw of the Current Literature. Most information on YouTube about men's health is unreliable. Videos created by physicians and healthcare organizations are more reliable, and videos that are advertisements are less reliable. Physicians and healthcare systems should continue to upload educational YouTube videos but work to increase their views and user engagement. It may benefit patients if physician organizations could work with YouTube to create verified videos disseminating healthcare information that are favored in the search algorithm. Older age cleft palate (CP) repair in international settings has been associated with increased surgical morbidity. This study assesses the prevalence and risks associated with late-age CP repair (age>5years) in the United States.
Primary CP repair patients less than the age of 18 years were identified in the National Surgical Quality Improvement pediatric database from 2012 to 2018. Total postoperative complications, readmissions, reoperations, duration of surgery, and length of stay were recorded. T-tests and χ
analyses were used to compare variables between age groups 0-5, 6-10, and 11-17.
A total of 10,022 primary CP procedures were identified from 2012 to 2018, of which 868 (8.6%) received repair at age>5 years. Hispanic patients constituted a larger proportion of CP repair from ages 11 to 17 years than repair at other ages (P<.001). In comparison with children treated from ages 0 to 5 years, children operated on between ages 6 and 10 or 11 and 17 years experienced no increases in unplannd implications of older age primary surgery warrant further study.
In residual deformity cases, it is difficult to reposition the zygomaticomaxillary-complex (ZMC) intraoperatively, due to resorbed fracture edges, and lack of zygoma analysis to 3-dimensionally quantify the deformity. Instability after zygomatic osteotomy and miniplate fixation (ZOMF) due to the gap between osteotomized segments, scar tissue, muscle pull, and other factors is also unknown. The study aims to evaluate symmetry and stability after ZOMF.
In this prospective study, a ZMC analysis was designed and patients with unilateral post-traumatic residual deformity (>10weeks) of ZMC were treated with ZOMF. Measurements were evaluated on affected and unaffected sides at preoperatively, immediately, and 6months postoperatively using MIMICS software. The primary outcome variable was the symmetry and stability of ZMC. learn more Secondary parameters were changes in orbital volume, diplopia, ocular motility, mouth opening, and patient satisfaction. P<.05 was considered statistically significant. The continuous var protocol helped in communication and quantifying ZMC. link2 Four-point fixation with miniplates provided enough stability over the 6-month follow-up period.
Life expectancy (LE) is an important consideration in the clinical decision-making for T1aN0M0 renal cell cancer (RCC) patients.
To test the effect of race/ethnicity (Caucasian, African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Asian) on LE predictions from Social Security Administration (SSA) life tables in male and female T1aN0M0 RCC patients.
We relied on the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database.
Radical nephrectomy (RN) and partial nephrectomy (PN).
Five-year and 10-yr observed overall survival (OS) of pT1aN0M0 RCC patients treated between 2004 and 2006 were compared with the LE predicted from SSA life tables. We repeated the comparison in a more contemporary cohort (2009-2011), with 5-yr follow-up and higher PN rates.
In the 2004-2006 cohort, PN rate was 40.7%. OS followed the predicted LE in Caucasians, Hispanics/Latinos, and Asians, but not in African Americans, in whom 5-yr OS rates were 5.0% (male) and 8.7% (female) and 10-yr rates were 4.2% (male) and 11.1% (female) lower than predifor T1aN0M0 renal cell cancer patients eligible for radical or partial nephrectomy, the important influence of patient sex and race/ethnicity on life expectancy should be taken into account, when using Social Security Administration life tables.
Social Security Administration life tables can be used to estimate long-term life expectancy in patients who are surgically treated for renal cancer (≤4 cm). However, while for Caucasians, Hispanics/Latinos, and Asians, the prediction performs well, life expectancy of African Americans is generally overestimated by life table predictions. TAKE HOME MESSAGE In the clinical decision-making process for T1aN0M0 renal cell cancer patients eligible for radical or partial nephrectomy, the important influence of patient sex and race/ethnicity on life expectancy should be taken into account, when using Social Security Administration life tables.
The present study was performed to affirm surface characterization, as well as to compare the effect of coating of stainless-steel (SS) orthodontic brackets and wires by nanoparticles Chitosan (CTS) or Zinc oxide (ZnO) during friction.
Seventy SS brackets for the upper right central incisors with a 0.022-inch system and seventy 0.019×0.025-inch SS rectangular wires, with and without ZnO and CTS nanoparticle coating, were used. link3 Coating was analysed by SEM. A universal testing machine was used to calculate the friction between the wires and brackets. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's tests.
Significant differences were detected between coated and uncoated wires and brackets for friction with either ZnO or CTS nanoparticles. The mean values of the wires and brackets coated with ZnO and CTS nanoparticles were 0.64±0.24N and 0.85±0.23N, respectively, while they were 1.79±0.61N for the uncoated group. In addition, there was a significant decrease of about 64% and 53% found after coating with ZnO and CTS nanoparticles, respectively. The results of CTS nanoparticle coating were consistent with those of ZnO nanoparticles.
Friction force decreased significantly after coating of CTS or ZnO nanoparticles. These nanoparticles provide an opportunity to reduce friction during tooth movement, resulting in better anchorage control, reduced treatment time and risk ofroot resorption.
Friction force decreased significantly after coating of CTS or ZnO nanoparticles. These nanoparticles provide an opportunity to reduce friction during tooth movement, resulting in better anchorage control, reduced treatment time and risk of root resorption.
The objective of the study was to compare external root resorption during orthodontic tooth movement between patients who were subjected to photobiomodulation and those who were not.
The study was designed as a split-mouth, single-blind randomized controlled trial conducted on twenty-two orthodontic patients requiring extraction of maxillary first premolars (age group 13-30years). A buccal force was applied to all the premolars using a 0.019″×0.025″ beta-titanium cantilever spring for 28days. link3 The test group premolars were irradiated by indium-gallium-arsenide (InGaAs) diode laser (980nm, 100mW) 0, 3, 7, 11, 15 and 28days after force application. Each premolar was irradiated at ten locations on the buccal and palatal gingiva resulting in a total energy of 10J delivered per tooth. After 28days, the root surface of all the premolars were studied for the number and volume of resorption craters using three-dimensional optical profilometry by a blinded assessor. One-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to ascertain normality and Mann-Whitney U test was applied for data analysis.
All twenty-two patients enrolled completed the study. The root surface analysis showed formation of 32.78% less number of resorption craters (P<0.05) and 39.49% less volume of resorption craters (P<0.05) in the test group premolars relative to the control group premolars.
The results of the present study, therefore, suggest that photobiomodulation reduces external root resorption during orthodontic tooth movement.

Severe neutropenia is a dose-limiting factor that occurs in up to 82% of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treated with cabazitaxel. This study evaluated the effectiveness of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) plus ciprofloxacin as prophylaxis in post-docetaxel patients with mCRPC treated with cabazitaxel and at high risk for neutropenia.
This was a phase IV, multicenter, open-label, single-arm interventional study with men aged≥ 65 years (or< 65 years and≥ 25% irradiated bone marrow), presenting with mCRPC after docetaxel failure, performance status≤ 1, and life expectancy > 12 weeks. Cabazitaxel 25 mg/m
and prednisone were given on day 1, every 21 days. G-CSF was administered on days 2 to 8 of each cycle or until an absolute neutrophil count > 2000/mm
, and ciprofloxacin 1000 mg was given orally on days 5 to 12. The rate of neutropenia grade≥ 3 during the first cycle (primary endpoint), and frequency of neutropenia grade≥ 3, febrile neutropenia, diarrhea grade≥ 3, prostate-specific antigen response, and quality of life during treatment (secondary end points) were estimated.
