The drawers are easy to open and close, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This refrigerator is ideal for a single family or kitchenette that needs a built-in appearance and top-of-the line food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never fluctuated more than a tiny fraction - this is crucial to avoid the risk of a freezer burn. In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a good performance but doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
