A minority of patients with LGS (almost one in six patients) may enjoy a seizure-free state in their adulthood. However, very few of them could enjoy a healthy social life. While intellectual dysfunction may not be evident at the onset of the disease, cognitive impairment usually becomes apparent over time, and almost all patients would suffer from poor social outcomes in their adulthood.

In this study, CiteSpace and VOSviewer are used to analyze the literature related to PTE (January 2000-June 2020). The aspects of the cooperative network (author, institution, and country), keywords co-occurrence, document co-citation clustering, and journal dual-map overlay were analyzed, and the atlas was constructed. The United States, Finland, and other research institutions have frequently published PTE-related articles, thus having richer research results. The relevant research was mostly published in journals, such as Journal of Neurotrauma, Journal of Neuroscience, Brain Research, Neurobiology of Disease. Quantitative diffusion MRI plays a critical role in PTE research. The study on the susceptibility to seizures and the underlying mechanism of PTE received different degrees of attention. The present study provided an in-depth understanding of the research foundation, relevant research results, the current research frontiers, and the main research focus in the PTE field. Herein, we briefly discussed relevant key articles and also provided ideas for future research directions.Planktonic communities are a cornerstone of ocean food webs. Early benthic performance of meroplanktonic organisms is shaped by their life stages in planktonic communities. Fatty acid profiles of marine invertebrates are a good indicator of their nutritional state and allow inferring how dietary regimes experienced during larval pelagic life may drive their pre- and post-metamorphosis performance. Fatty acid profiles of Carcinus maenas megalopae were analysed during four larval supply events in two consecutive years to better understand the variability in their nutritional state at settlement. The logratio analysis of fatty acids showed differences between the four larval supply events, with five ratios explaining 83.1% of the variance. The ratios that contributed to separate larval supply events presented a combination of essential, de novo synthetized and diet origin fatty acids (e.g., phytanate/204 n-6, 160/182 n-4). The high fatty acid signature dispersion found within the same supply event suggests that larvae settling at Ria de Aveiro (Portugal) developed through different planktonic feeding zones and experienced contrasting feeding regimes. The fatty acid profile of megalopae demonstrated a high contribution of diatoms, flagellates and bacteria in the larval diet of C. maenas. The present study demonstrated differences between supply events, although a high variability of larval phenotypes was recorded within the same supply event.Macrozooplankton assemblages were studied during the summer and fall of 2012 in the Pechora Sea, a large coastal region of the south-eastern Barents Sea strongly affected by discharges of freshwater. Sampling was performed at 23 stations with 550-μm mesh IKS-80 nets. We focused on macrozooplankton and large (>1.5 mm) non-copepod zooplankton (larvae of benthic animals and medusae). A combination of multivariate cluster analysis, diversity indices and canonical correspondence analysis was used to relate the spatio-temporal patterns of the zooplankton assemblages to environmental factors. Summer macrozooplankton density varied from 3 to 928 ind. m-3, averaging 131 ± 49 ind. m-3, with medusae being the most numerous (mean ± SE 67.9 ± 7.8% of the total abundance). The total macrozooplankton biomass ranged from 0.3 to 516 mg dry mass (DM) m-3 with a mean value of 28 ± 25 mgDM m-3. There was a clear decline in the total macrozooplankton abundance (1.1-6.0, 4.4 ± 1.6 ind. m-3) and biomass (0.4-2.7, 1.2 ± 0.7 mgDM m-3 be useful for future monitoring in the coastal Arctic estuarine regions. The dynamics of phytoplankton across a seasonal frontal system formed in San José Gulf (SJG, Patagonia Argentina) and in neighbouring shelf waters was assessed based on bio-optical satellite data (2003-2018) and spring and summer in situ samplings. Bio-optical properties of the water masses on the eastern (ED) and western (WD) domains of the seasonal frontal system of SJG showed clear differences the year-round-vertically-mixed waters from the WD, strongly connected with the adjacent shelf waters, evidenced a brief and strong single phytoplankton bloom, while those from the ED, showing lower exchange with shelf waters and a strong vertical stratification during the warm season, displayed an earlier and long-lasting spring phytoplankton bloom, followed by a late-summer and autumn bloom, both associated with the development and erosion of the seasonal thermocline. Waters from the entire system are optically influenced by the absorption of coloured dissolved organic matter and detritus (cdom + detritus), suggesting a strong sediment load contribution from the continent and the seabed. To remark, a strong correlation between satellite chlorophyll-a (Chla-sat) and absorption by phytoplankton (aphy443) in the outer shelf waters differs from the weak correlation of those variables in the gulf's water masses, whose optical parameters are more complex. In situ Chla records may indicate wind-driven upwelling and downwelling areas in the northern and southern coasts of the ED. Dissolved nitrogen was identified as the limiting macronutrient for phytoplankton growth in the ED during summer. This work contributes relevant ecological information that may support management actions on the SJG shellfish artisanal fishery.Three new classes of nojirimycin analogues viz. N-alkyl with C1-substituent (4-phenylbutyl), N-substituted 1-deoxynojirimycin and its congener δ-lactam, and a 4-phenylbutyl-β-C-glycoside were designed and synthesized for immunological studies. The resulting diverse compound library exhibited proliferation of B Cells and T cells induced by LPS and Con A, respectively. The majority of the analogues augmented the secretion of IL-12 in dendritic cells and TNF-α secretion in murine peritoneal macrophages compared to LPS (10 μg/ml). A deoxynojirimycin-triazole conjugate of phytosphingosine analogue was superior in the responses mentioned above and exhibited nitric oxide response equal to LPS. In comparison to findings on its congeners with immunosuppressive action, early immunological tests show that the novel nojirimycin analogues have immunopotentiating effect. Hence, nojirimycin analogues offer tremendous potential in tuning the immunomodulatory activity of iminosugars by subtle to substantial structural variations. We report on the utility of online self-perceived medical and mental health ratings (SPH) when screening healthy volunteers for mental health research. These one-item ratings were correlated with eligibility decisions and longer clinical surveys. We found correlations between SPH ratings and blinded clinician ratings of volunteer medical and mental health after an in-person evaluation, although additional analysis revealed poor reliability between clinician and volunteer ratings. SPH ratings are a useful addition to screening methods for research studies.Approximately 0.35-1% of the general population is afflicted with psychotic depression at some time in their life. Psychotic depression is a subtype of major depressive disorder characterized by mood congruent hallucinations and/or delusions. Patients with psychotic depression often represent the most severe cases, with high relapse and mortality rate. Although treatment guidelines recommend a combination of antidepressants and antipsychotics or electroconvulsive therapy, most patients subsequently relapse due to treatment resistance. Furthermore, with the concern of antipsychotic drug's side effects (e.g., tardive dyskinesia), there is a need for an alternative pharmacotherapy for psychotic depression. CHIR-99021 datasheet Recently, several case studies demonstrated that treatment with ketamine not only ameliorated mood, but also improved psychotic symptoms in patients with treatment-resistant depression and psychotic features. link2 However, the safety of ketamine in these patients is controversial since ketamine is known to induce psychotomimetic and dissociative effects. Additionally, the efficacy and safety of ketamine in patients with psychotic depression has not been established as most clinical trials have excluded these persons due to the theorized risk of aggravating psychotic symptoms. Notwithstanding, it is not established empirically that ketamine treatment in psychotic depression would predictably amplify psychotic symptoms and/or overall illness presentation. Future trials evaluating ketamine in depression should include patients with psychotic features to inform whether ketamine is safe and effective in this subpopulation. The widespread impacts of COVID-19 have affected both child and parent mental health worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between school closures due to COVID-19 and child and parent mental health in Japan. A sample of 1,984 Japanese parents with children and adolescents aged 6-15 years participated. The parents responded to online questionnaires about their own mental health and that of their children cross-sectionally. Participants were divided into three school situations based on the past week full school closure, partial school closure, and full school open. Results indicated that 2.02% (n = 40) of the participants were in full school closure and 5.95% (n = 118) of the participants were in partial school closure. The results indicated that, after controlling for other variables regarding the pandemic, full school closure was associated with much higher scores in both child and parent mental health problems compared to full school open. Moderately higher scores were found only for anxiety symptoms in both children and parents under partial school closure compared to where schools were fully open. Consideration of the needs of families is necessary in the context of both full and partial school closures to prevent deteriorating mental health.
Recent research has shown a growing interest in exploring the relationship between anorexia nervosa (AN) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Both conditions seem to share areas of cognitive, social and behavioural impairment, leading to relevant implications on treatment, especially when they are in comorbidity. This literature review aims to synthesise the latest studies on this topic to investigate the co-occurrence of AN and ASD, suggest future research directions and consider implications for treatment.

Records were systematically (PRISMA guidelines) identified through PubMed, EBSCOhost, Scopus and Web of Science searching.

Thirteen studies met the eligibility criteria and were therefore included in the review. link3 Results seem to confirm an overrepresentation of ASD symptoms in AN. Only few studies investigated the AN-ASD comorbidity in young people and report slightly lower rates than those conducted with adults.

Analysed studies suggest that while the comorbidity seems to exacerbate the severity of the condition, autistic traits appear to be rather stable over time and not related to body weight.
