To analyze the relevance of clinical indicators and the clarity and precision of conceptual and operational definitions of the diagnosis Impaired gas exchange.

Content analysis, by 39 nurse judges, divided into the phases of conceptual definition of the phenomenon of interest, construction of the structure of the phenomenon of interest and analysis of the judges on the built structure.

From the 22 indicators, 21 were considered relevant Impaired gas exchange. The indicators that obtained absolute relevance were Cyanosis, Hypercapnia, Hypoxemia and Tachycardia. The indicator Headache upon waking did not show any statistically significant relevance for the diagnosis. All conceptual and operational definitions were clear and precise.

The indicators listed for Impaired gas exchange were relevant to the phenomenon, except Headache upon waking because it does not correspond to a safe manifestation to identify the diagnosis, according to the analysis of the judges. Each conceptual and operational definition was adequate for its indicator.

To characterize the temporal trend of epidemiological indicators of leprosy in the State of Amapá.

Time series study, carried out in the Notifiable Diseases Information System. The indicators analyzed were annual detection rate of new cases, detection rate of new cases in the population from 0 to 14 years old, rate of new cases with grade 2 of disability, proportion of new cases with grade 2 and proportion of new multibacillary cases, between 2005 and 2018. The analysis of the temporal evolution was made by linear regression.

The detection rate of new cases and the rate of children under 15 years showed a decreasing trend. The rate of new cases with grade 2 of disability and the proportion of cases with grade 2 showed oscillation. The proportions of multibacillary remained constant.

The epidemiological indicators analyzed suggest active transmission and late diagnosis, signaling a possible hidden endemic disease.

To identify the risk of illness related to the work context of nurse professors of stricto sensu nursing post-graduation programs of public institutions.

Mixed study (convergent and parallel) carried out in federal universities in Rio Grande do Sul, with nurse professors, from November 2015 to October 2016. As data collection techniques, the Work Context Assessment Scale and a semi-structured interview were used. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis.

For the quantitative data, it was identified that all factors on the scale were assessed as critical for the risk of illness. The reports complement the quantitative data, and point to work overload, competitiveness, and inadequate infrastructure.

This study offers subsidies for the implementation of actions aimed at the health of nursing professors and helps in the understanding of the work context, which presents risks for illness.

To analyze the occurrence of occlusions in peripherally inserted central venous catheters in pediatric patients in antineoplastic chemotherapy.

Retrospective cohort, with 156 medical records of patients aged 0-19 years who underwent outpatient chemotherapy between 2013 and 2017 by this catheter, in a hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied.

219 catheters were registered. Occlusion occurred in 141 (64.4%) catheters; 63 (44.7%) were removed because of occlusion, either alone or associated with another factor. Total occlusion alone led to the removal of 27 (12.3%) catheters. Occlusion was associated with catheter dwell time, cyclophosphamide, neuroblastoma, bone metastasis and number of chemotherapy sessions.

Occlusion is an important complication because it occurred in more than half of the catheters and was one of the main reasons for withdrawal. The identified risk factors may guide the care to prevent this complication.

The human-computer interaction is essential in simulated electronic systems associated with teaching-learning activities. Interactive clinical cases reinforce the diagnostic reasoning ability, a stage of the advanced Nursing Process.

To build educational software, based on NANDA International, to improve the accuracy of nursing diagnoses.

Methodological study in three stages preparation and validation of case studies; construction; homologation and evaluation. Held between January / 2012 and December / 2013, in a university hospital in southern Brazil. Teachers, nurses, undergraduate students and graduate students in nursing and information technology participated. Approved by the Research Ethics Committee (130035).

Construction of five case studies and two versions of the software one simulates the reasoning process for establishing the diagnosis; another, aimed at teachers, makes it possible to edit/create cases.

The software helps in the teaching-learning process, generating accurate diagnoses, supporting more appropriate interventions.

Decades of research have highlighted the involvement of the prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulated cortex, and limbic areas (amygdala) in panic disorder (PD). However, little attention has been given specifically to the inferior frontal gyrus. The current study aimed to investigate the neural substrates, including the inferior frontal gyrus, of both panic-related and negative conditions among individuals with PD and healthy controls.

We examined 13 medication-free PD patients and 14 healthy controls with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during exposure to negative and neutral pictures and a set of specific panic-related pictures.

Subtraction between the conditions indicated activation of the left amygdala region and the right inferior frontal gyrus in PD patients during the specific panic-related condition, whereas the left amygdalar region and left inferior frontal gyrus were activated during the negative condition in controls.

These results suggest that in patients with PD, a prominent bottom-up process is involved in specific panic-related conditions, which might be associated with weak modulation of the left frontal area. These data add to our current understanding of the neural correlates of PD and can contribute to future clinical interventions targeting the functional reestablishment of these regions.

The Sydney Melancholia Prototype Index (SMPI) is a scale that uses a non-conventional strategy to assess melancholia status based on prototypic symptoms and illness course variables. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the first translation of this instrument in a non-English-speaking population.

A sample comprising 106 Brazilian outpatients with depression was evaluated simultaneously with the Brazilian version of the self-rated SMPI (SMPI-SR) and clinician-rated SMPI (SMPI-CR). The kappa coefficient and t test were used to evaluate concurrent validity vs. DSM-IV, CORE system, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-6 item (HAM-D6), and HAM-D17 assignments to a melancholic or non-melancholic class. The prevalence of melancholia as well as sensitivity and specificity were calculated across instruments.

The prevalence of melancholia was highest using DSM-IV criteria (56.6%). The kappa agreement between SMPI-CR and DSM-IV melancholia assignment was moderate (kappa 0.44, p ≤ 0.001). SMPI-CR-assigned melancholic patients had significantly higher CORE, HAM-D17, and HAM-D6 scores. The test-retest consistency values for the SMPI were modest at best, and somewhat superior for the CR version.

The Brazilian SMPI-CR presented satisfactory psychometric properties (which were superior to those of the SMPI-SR), and therefore appears to be a useful option for identifying melancholia and studying its causes and optimal treatments.

The Park is one of the state conservation units, maintaining remnants of the Atlantic forest, rocky fields vegetation, coastal forest, "vassoural," mixed grassland, moist, bathed and juncal plains. Artificial pollen traps were installed inside the park, between forest and human-modified field. The study presents a morphological description of 34 plant families, represented by 47 different pollen grains and monilophyte spores (including exotic taxa), unpublished data for the park's palinoflora. Quantitative data revealed the presence of 77% of non-arboreal pollen grains, 20% of arboreal pollen grains, 2% of monilophyte spores and 1% of other that can be both arboreal and non-arboreal pollen grains. Non-arboreal pollen grains, especially Poaceae, dominated in all the traps, even those located in forest areas. The dominance of the human-modified fields around collectors and winds from the northeast influenced the dispersion of these grains. Exotic pollen grains of the Betulaceae family, of Andean origin, also occurred in the pollen rain, resulting from dispersion by atmospheric currents of long distances.
