Accurate segmentation of myocardial in cardiac MRI (magnetic resonance image) is key to effective rapid diagnosis and quantitative pathology analysis. However, a low-quality CMR (cardiac magnetic resonance) image with a large amount of noise makes it extremely difficult to accurately and quickly manually segment the myocardial. In this paper, we propose a method for CMR segmentation based on U-Net and combined with image sequence information. The method can effectively segment from the top slice to the bottom slice of the CMR. During training, each input slice depends on the slice below it. In other words, the predicted segmentation result depends on the existing segmentation label of the previous slice. 3D sequence information is fully utilized. Our method was validated on the ACDC dataset, which included CMR images of 100 patients (1700 2D MRI). Experimental results show that our method can segment the myocardial quickly and efficiently and is better than the current state-of-the-art methods. When evaluating 340 CMR image, our model yielded an average dice score of 85.02 ± 0.15, which is much higher than the existing classical segmentation method(Unet, Dice score = 0.78 ± 0.3).The domesticated horse has played a unique role in human history, serving not just as a source of animal protein, but also as a catalyst for long-distance migration and military conquest. As a result, the horse developed unique physiological adaptations to meet the demands of both their climatic environment and their relationship with man. Completed in 2009, the first domesticated horse reference genome assembly (EquCab 2.0) produced most of the publicly available genetic variations annotations in this species. Yet, there are around 400 geographically and physiologically diverse breeds of horse. To enrich the current collection of genetic variants in the horse, we sequenced whole genomes from six horses of six different breeds an American Miniature, a Percheron, an Arabian, a Mangalarga Marchador, a Native Mongolian Chakouyi, and a Tennessee Walking Horse, and mapped them to EquCab3.0 genome. Aside from extreme contrasts in body size, these breeds originate from diverse global locations and each possess uniqupinnings of diverse phenotypes within the horse.BACKGROUND Maternal HIV coinfection is a key factor for mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HCV. However, data about HCV MTCT in HIV/HCV-coinfected pregnant women on combined antiretroviral treatment (ART) are scarce. This study assessed the HCV MTCT rate in the Madrid Cohort of HIV-infected women. METHODS Retrospective study within the Madrid Cohort of HIV-infected pregnant women (2000-2012). Epidemiological, clinical and treatment related variables were analysed for the mother and infant pairs. HCV MTCT rate was determined. RESULTS Three hundred thirty-nine HIV/HCV-coinfected women and their exposed infants were recorded. A total of 227 (67%) paired mother-children had available data of HCV follow-up and were included for the analysis. Sixteen children (rate 7.0%, 95%CI 3.7-10.4%) were HCV infected by 18 months of age, none of them coinfected with HIV. HIV/HCV-coinfected pregnant women were mostly of Spanish origin with a background of previous injection drug use. HCV-genotype 1 was predominant. The characteristics of mothers that transmitted HCV were similar to those that did not transmit HCV with respect to sociodemographic and clinical features. A high rate (50%) of preterm deliveries was observed. Infants infected with HCV were similar at birth in weight, length and head circumference than those uninfected. CONCLUSION MTCT rates of HCV among HIV/HCV-coinfected women on ART within the Madrid cohort were lower than previously described. However, rates are still significant and strategies to eliminate any HCV transmission from mother to child are needed.Birds are important hosts for the first life stages of the Ixodes ricinus tick and they can transport their parasites over long distances. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, Anaplasma phagocytophilum, Neoehrlichia mikurensis and Rickettsia helvetica in ticks collected from migratory birds in Norway. A total of 815 Ixodes ricinus ticks from 216 birds trapped at Lista Bird Observatory in southern Norway during spring and autumn migration in 2008 were analysed by real-time PCR. B. burgdorferi s. l. was the most prevalent pathogen, detected in 6.1% of the ticks. The prevalence of N. mikurensis, A. phagocytophilum and R. helvetica was 1.2%, 0.9% and 0.4% respectively. In addition, one sample (0.1%) was positive for B. miyamotoi. In total, 8.2% of the ticks were infected with at least one pathogen. Co-infection with B. burgdorferi s. l. and N. mikurensis or A. phagocytophilum was found in 6.0% of the infected ticks. Our results show that all the known major tick-borne bacterial pathogens in Norway are subject to transport by migratory birds, potentially allowing spread to new areas. Our study showed a surprisingly high number of samples with PCR inhibition (57%). These samples had been extracted using standard methodology (phenol-chloroform extraction). This illustrates the need for inhibition controls to determine true prevalence rates.Although the connection between the left inferior frontal gyrus (LIFG) and the left superior temporal gyrus (LSTG) has been found to be essential for the comprehension of relative clause (RC) sentences, it remains unclear how the LIFG and the LSTG interact with each other, especially during the processing of Chinese RC sentences with different processing difficulty. This study thus conducted a 2 × 2 (modifying position × extraction position) factorial analyses to examine how these two factors influences regional brain activation. The results showed that, regardless of the modifying position, greater activation in the LIFG was consistently elicited in Chinese subject-extracted relative clauses (SRCs) with non-canonical word order than object-extracted relative clauses (ORCs) with canonical word order, implying that the LIFG subserving the ordering process primarily contributes to the processing of information with increased integration demands due to the non-canonical sequence. Moreover, the directional connection between the LIFG and the LSTG appeared to be modulated by different modifying positions. When the RC was at the subject-modifying position, the effective connectivity from the LIFG to the LSTG was dominantly activated for sentence comprehension; whereas when the RC was at the object-modifying position thus being more difficult, it might be the feedback mechanism from the LSTG back to the LIFG that took place in sentence processing. These findings reveal that brain activation in between the LIFG and the LSTG may be dynamically modulated by different processing difficulty and suggest the relative specialization but extensive collaboration involved in the LIFG and the LSTG for sentence comprehension.Normalization is crucial in RNA-seq data analyses. Due to the existence of excessive zeros and a large number of small measures, it is challenging to find reliable linear rescaling normalization parameters. We propose a Zipf plot based normalization method (ZN) assuming that all gene profiles have similar upper tail behaviors in their expression distributions. The new normalization method uses global information of all genes in the same profile without gene-level expression alteration. It doesn't require the majority of genes to be not differentially expressed (DE), and can be applied to data where the majority of genes are weakly or not expressed. Two normalization schemes are implemented with ZN a linear rescaling scheme and a non-linear transformation scheme. The linear rescaling scheme can be applied alone or together with the non-linear normalization scheme. The performance of ZN is benchmarked against five popular linear normalization methods for RNA-seq data. Results show that the linear rescaling normalization scheme by itself works well and is robust. The non-linear normalization scheme can further improve the normalization outcomes and is optional if the Zipf plots show parallel patterns.Economic, environmental, and social effects are the most dominating issues in cold chain logistics. The goal of this paper is to propose a cost-saving, energy-saving, and emission-reducing bi-objective model for the cold chain-based low-carbon location-routing problem. In the proposed model, the first objective (economic and environmental effects) is to minimize the total logistics costs consisting of costs of depots to open, renting vehicles, fuel consumption, and carbon emission, and the second one (social effect) is to reduce the damage of cargos, which could improve the client satisfaction. In the proposed model, a strategy is developed to meet the requirements of clients as to the demands on the types of cargos, that is, general cargos, refrigerated cargos, and frozen cargos. Since the proposed problem is NP-hard, we proposed a simple and efficient framework combining seven well-known multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs). Furthermore, in the experiments, we first examined the effectiveness of the proposed framework by assessing the performance of seven MOEAs, and also verified the efficiency of the proposed model. Extensive experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of the proposed strategy and variants on depot capacity, hard time windows, and fleet composition on the performance indicators of Pareto fronts and cold chain logistics networks, such as fuel consumption, carbon emission, travel distance, travel time, and the total waiting time of vehicles.Bats are primary consumers of nocturnal insects, disperse nutrients across landscapes, and are excellent bioindicators of an ecosystem's health, however four of the seventeen Great British species are listed as declining. In this study we aim to investigate the link between bat guano morphology and diet, specifically looking at the ability to predict 1) species, 2) dietary guild, and 3) bat size, using guano morphology alone. Guano from 16 bat species sampled from across Great Britain were analysed to determine various morphological metrics. These data were coupled with diet data obtained by an extensive literature review. It was found that guano morphology overlapped too much to make predictions on the species of bat which deposited the guano, however, in some cases, it could be used to indicate the dietary guild to which the bat belonged. read more In general, guano morphology seems more correlated to diet than species. We conducted a systematic review to examine the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of case management interventions on health and social outcomes for homeless populations. METHODS AND FINDINGS We searched Medline, Embase and 7 other electronic databases for trials on case management or care coordination, from the inception of these databases to July 2019. We sought outcomes on housing stability, mental health, quality of life, substance use, hospitalization, income and employment, and cost-effectiveness.
