The flow regime is modeled in terms of partial differential equations. To non-dimensionalize the system of governing equations, dimensionless variables have been derived through Buckingham-Pi theorem. The system of partial differential equations is solved through assumed periodic solutions (Poincare-Light Hill Technique). The expressions for skin friction (shear stresses at [Formula see text]) and Nusselt number (the rate of heat transfer) are also calculated. Moreover, parametric influence on Nusselt number, and velocity profile of the fluid and the dust particles, is discussed. It is observed that increase in rotation parameter η causes retardation in the velocity of dust particles and the fluid. This is due to the fact that the increase in η enhances the Coriolis forces that are in fact inertial forces, causing a retardation in the velocity of the fluid phase and the dust phase.Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has affected millions of people since December 2019. Summarizing the development of COVID-19 and assessing the effects of control measures are very critical to China and other countries. A logistic growth curve model was employed to compare the development of COVID-19 before and after the emergency response took effect. We found that the number of confirmed cases peaked 9-14 days after the first detection of an imported case, but there was a peak lag in the province where the outbreak was concentrated. Results of the growth curves indicated that the fitted cumulative confirmed cases were close to the actual observed cases, and the R2 of all models was above 0.95. The average growth rate decreased by 44.42% nationally and by 32.5% outside Hubei Province. The average growth rate in the 12 high-risk areas decreased by 29.9%. The average growth rate of cumulative confirmed cases decreased by approximately 50% after the emergency response. Areas with frequent population migration have a high risk of outbreak. The emergency response taken by the Chinese government was able to effectively control the COVID-19 outbreak. Our study provides references for other countries and regions to control the COVID-19 outbreak. The plant growth-promoting bacterium Azospirillum brasilense contains several genes encoding proteins involved in the biosynthesis and degradation of the second messenger cyclic-di-GMP, which may control key bacterial functions, such as biofilm formation and motility. Here, we analysed the function and expression of the cdgD gene, encoding a multidomain protein that includes GGDEF-EAL domains and CHASE and PAS domains. An insertional cdgD gene mutant was constructed, and analysis of biofilm and extracellular polymeric substance production, as well as the motility phenotype indicated that cdgD encoded a functional diguanylate protein. These results were correlated with a reduced overall cellular concentration of cyclic-di-GMP in the mutant over 48 h compared with that observed in the wild-type strain, which was recovered in the complemented strain. In addition, cdgD gene expression was measured in cells growing under planktonic or biofilm conditions, and differential expression was observed when KNO3 or NH4Cl was added to the minimal medium as a nitrogen source. The transcriptional fusion of the cdgD promoter with the gene encoding the autofluorescent mCherry protein indicated that the cdgD gene was expressed both under abiotic conditions and in association with wheat roots. Reduced colonization of wheat roots was observed for the mutant compared with the wild-type strain grown in the same soil conditions. The Azospirillum-plant association begins with the motility of the bacterium towards the plant rhizosphere followed by the adsorption and adherence of these bacteria to plant roots. Therefore, it is important to study the genes that contribute to this initial interaction of the bacterium with its host plant.Remodelling of chromatin architecture is known to regulate gene expression and has been well characterized in cell lineage development but less so in response to cell perturbation. Activation of T cells, which triggers extensive changes in transcriptional programs, serves as an instructive model to elucidate how changes in chromatin architecture orchestrate gene expression in response to cell perturbation. To characterize coordinate changes at different levels of chromatin architecture, we analyzed chromatin accessibility, chromosome conformation and gene expression in activated human T cells. T cell activation was characterized by widespread changes in chromatin accessibility and interactions that were shared between activated CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, and with the formation of active regulatory regions associated with transcription factors relevant to T cell biology. Chromatin interactions that increased and decreased were coupled, respectively, with up- and down-regulation of corresponding target genes. Furthermore, activation was associated with disruption of long-range chromatin interactions and with partitioning of topologically associating domains (TADs) and remodelling of their TAD boundaries. see more Newly formed/strengthened TAD boundaries were associated with higher nucleosome occupancy and lower accessibility, linking changes in lower and higher order chromatin architecture. T cell activation exemplifies coordinate multi-level remodelling of chromatin underlying gene transcription.China's temperate glaciers have a relatively warm and humid climate and hydrothermal conditions at low latitudes. Temperate glaciers, however, have larger ablation, higher ice temperatures, relatively fast movement speeds, and a significant sliding process at the bottom. As a result, these glaciers are more significantly affected by climate change. On the basis of topographic maps, aerial photography, and Landsat OLI images, and combined with existing research results, this paper systematically analyzed the temporal and spatial dynamic characteristics of typical temperate glaciers. The results are as follows (1) From the 1950s to the 1970s, compared with other types of glaciers, temperate glaciers showed strong retreat and ablation trends in terms of area, length, speed, and mass balance. (2) The reduction rates of glacier areas of Kangri Garpo, Dagu Snow Mountain, Yulong Snow Mountain (YSM), and Meili Snow Mountain (MSM) in China's temperate glacier areas all exceeded 38%, which was far above the national ava, p  less then  0.0001).Active smoking has been linked to modulated gene expression in blood. However, there is a need for a more thorough understanding of how quantitative measures of smoking exposure relate to differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in whole-blood among ever smokers. This study analysed microarray-based gene expression profiles from whole-blood samples according to smoking status and quantitative measures of smoking exposure among cancer-free women (n = 1708) in the Norwegian Women and Cancer postgenome cohort. When compared with never smokers and former smokers, current smokers had 911 and 1082 DEGs, respectively and their biological functions could indicate systemic impacts of smoking. LRRN3 was associated with smoking status with the lowest FDR-adjusted p-value. When never smokers and all former smokers were compared, no DEGs were observed, but LRRN3 was differentially expressed when never smokers were compared with former smokers who quit smoking ≤ 10 years ago. Further, LRRN3 was positively associated with smoking intensity, pack-years, and comprehensive smoking index score among current smokers; and negatively associated with time since cessation among former smokers. Consequently, LRRN3 expression in whole-blood is a molecular signal of smoking exposure that could supplant self-reported smoking data in further research targeting blood-based markers related to the health effects of smoking. The prevalence of HIV-1 in Guangxi is very high, and the rate of HIV-1 infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) has been increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the patterns and risk factors of HIV transmission in Guangxi. For this purpose, individuals diagnosed with HIV-1 during 2013-2018 in Guangxi were recruited. Phylogenetic relationship, transmission clusters, and genotypic drug resistance analyses were performed based on HIV-1 pol sequences. Related factors were analysed to assess for their association with HIV-1 transmission. CRF07_BC (50.4%) and CRF01_AE (33.4%) were found to be the predominant subtypes. The analysed 1633 sequences (50.15%, Guangxi; 49.85%, other provinces) were segregated into 80 clusters (size per cluster, 2-704). We found that 75.3% of the individuals were in three clusters (size ˃ 100), and 73.8% were high-risk spreaders (links ≥ 4). Infection time, marital status, and subtype were significantly associated with HIV-1 transmission. Additionally, 80.2% of recent infections were linked to long-term infections, and 46.2% were linked to other provinces. A low level of transmitted drug resistance was detected (4.8%). Our findings indicated superclusters and high-risk HIV-1 spreaders among the MSM in Guangxi. Effective strategies blocking the route of transmission should be developed. Our ability to discriminate temporal intervals can be improved with practice. This learning is generally thought to reflect an enhancement in the representation of a trained interval, which leads to interval-specific improvements in temporal discrimination. In the present study, we asked whether temporal learning is further constrained by context-specific factors dictated through the trained stimulus and task structure. Two groups of participants were trained using a single-interval auditory discrimination task over 5 days. Training intervals were either one of eight predetermined values (FI group), or random from trial to trial (RI group). Before and after the training period, we measured discrimination performance using an untrained two-interval temporal comparison task. Our results revealed a selective improvement in the FI group, but not the RI group. However, this learning did not generalize between the trained and untrained tasks. These results highlight the sensitivity of TPL to stimulus and task structure, suggesting that mechanisms of temporal learning rely on processes beyond changes in interval representation.Ballistocardiography (BCG) and Seismocardiography (SCG) assess the vibrations produced by cardiac contraction and blood flow, respectively, by means of micro-accelerometers and micro-gyroscopes. From the BCG and SCG signals, maximal velocities (VMax), integral of kinetic energy (iK), and maximal power (PMax) can be computed as scalar parameters, both in linear and rotational dimensions. Standard echocardiography and 2-dimensional speckle tracking imaging echocardiography were performed on 34 healthy volunteers who were infused with increasing doses of dobutamine (5-10-20 μg/kg/min). Linear VMax of BCG predicts the rates of left ventricular (LV) twisting and untwisting (both p  less then  0.0001). The linear PMax of both SCG and BCG and the linear iK of BCG are the best predictors of the LV ejection fraction (LVEF) (p  less then  0.0001). This result is further confirmed by mathematical models combining the metrics from SCG and BCG signals with heart rate, in which both linear PMax and iK strongly correlate with LVEF (R = 0.
