Teachers' perceptions of their students' academic skills can affect students' achievement and may be influenced by unrelated student characteristics such as socioeconomic status (SES). In this ad hoc randomized controlled trial, teachers (n = 28) were randomly assigned to receive training on using assessment to guide literacy instruction, Assessment-to-Instruction (A2i), or on Math PALS (control). Teachers rated students' (n = 446) academic competence. A2i teachers' ratings did not vary by SES, and their ratings correlated more strongly with students' literacy and mathematics assessment scores compared with those of the control teachers. Control teachers generally underestimated lower SES students' academic competence; underestimation was greater at more affluent schools. Teachers' ratings of students' academic competence predicted reading and mathematics outcomes. Thoughtful use of assessments to guide instruction appeared to improve the precision of teachers' ratings of students' academic competence, improve student outcomes, and reduce potential teacher biases about children from higher-poverty families.Quantitative phase imaging (QPI) is a valuable label-free modality that has gained significant interest due to its wide potentials, from basic biology to clinical applications. Most existing QPI systems measure microscopic objects via interferometry or nonlinear iterative phase reconstructions from intensity measurements. However, all imaging systems compromise spatial resolution for the field of view and vice versa, i.e., suffer from a limited space bandwidth product. Current solutions to this problem involve computational phase retrieval algorithms, which are time-consuming and often suffer from convergence problems. In this article, we presented synthetic aperture interference light (SAIL) microscopy as a solution for high-resolution, wide field of view QPI. The proposed approach employs low-coherence interferometry to directly measure the optical phase delay under different illumination angles and produces large space-bandwidth product label-free imaging. find more We validate the performance of SAIL on standard samples and illustrate the biomedical applications on various specimens pathology slides, entire insects, and dynamic live cells in large cultures. The reconstructed images have a synthetic numeric aperture of 0.45 and a field of view of 2.6 × 2.6 mm2. Agnostic oncology therefore represents a challenge for the evolution of the entire path of the drug, not only for its clinical development, but also concerning the diagnostic-therapeutic and regulatory approach to be followed for the authorization and evaluation of these drugs.In the oncology, the construction, implementation and evaluation of the care pathway must consider the integration of the "histological approach" with the "mutational" one, focused on the identification of specific molecular alterations to which the so-called "agnostic drugs" are targeted. To investigate this issue, a specific Working Group of the MaCroScopio Project (observatory on chronicity) was held in which the leading Italian experts in the oncology and regulatory field participated. In Italy, the monoclonal antibodies nivolumab and pembrolizumab are subjected to the AIFA monitoring registries for the indication "advanced melanoma (unresectable or metastatic) in adults". These two drugs have the same eligibility criteria, and they are indicated until failure due to progression or toxicity; both of these drugs have also undergone dosage changes from pro/kg to flat dose. In this observational study, also based on clinical eligibility parameters, we wanted to investigate the rwTTD, definitive and temporary suspensions, as well as dose modifications.

We enrolled patients who started a treatment with nivolumab or pembrolizumab and were admitted to the Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in the period between 01/01/2016 and 31/12/2018. Treatments were followed up to 31/01/2021. Data were collected from the AIFA monitoring registries and from local therapy monitoring databases. We used the Kaplan-Meier method to estimate rwTTD, and the differences between sample subgroups were evaluated uhat it is therefore important to manage toxicities and then resume treatment, whenever possible. In patients who switched to a flat dose, there was an evident increase in the dose administered, especially for pembrolizumab.
Patients who temporarily stopped the treatment had a median rwTTD that is three times higher than patients who stopped permanently and had at least 45 days of therapy. Other studies suggest that patients who had immunological response and side effects, then had better PFS and OS than those without side effects. It is confirmed that it is therefore important to manage toxicities and then resume treatment, whenever possible. In patients who switched to a flat dose, there was an evident increase in the dose administered, especially for pembrolizumab.
