A cross-sectional survey design.

In total, 1171 Vietnamese and Indonesian married immigrants were enrolled between September 2019 and December 2019. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to verify the structural validity of the suggested factor structure. The multiple-group CFA (MGCFA) used a series of hierarchical nested-in models as a measurement invariance test which confirmed the adequacy of the model fit at each stage.

Studies on the association between severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) and lifestyle factors in adults have not been conducted in the Netherlands to date.

To explore the association between moderate to severe AD and lifestyle factors in adults in the Dutch general population.

We conducted this cross-sectional study within the Lifelines Cohort Study by sending a digital AD questionnaire to 135 950 adults in 2020. We extracted data on lifestyle factors from baseline, collected between 2006 and 2013. We analysed the association between lifestyle factors and presence of AD of any severity and of moderate to severe AD, using binary logistic regression and linear regression models.

We enrolled 56 896 participants (mean age 55.8 years, 39.7% males). The lifetime prevalence of self-reported physician-diagnosed AD was 9.1%, and the point prevalence of any AD and of moderate to severe AD was 3.3% and 2.3%, respectively. We found that moderate to severe AD was associated with smoking habit of > 15 pack-years, sleep disturbances, appears warranted in patients with moderate to severe AD. Further longitudinal studies are required to better characterize the direction of these associations and to develop strategies for prevention.Serial examination and direct measurement of intracompartmental pressure (ICP) are suboptimal strategies for the detection of acute compartment syndrome (CS) because they are operator-dependent and yield information that only indirectly reflects intracompartmental muscle perfusion. As a result, instances of unnecessary fasciotomy and unrecognized CS are relatively common. Recently, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)-based systems for compartment monitoring have generated interest as an adjunct tool. Under ideal conditions, NIRS directly measures the oxygenation of intracompartmental muscle (StO2 ), thereby obviating the challenges of interpreting equivocal clinical examination or ICP data. Despite these potential advantages, existing NIRS sensors are plagued by technical difficulties that limit clinical utility. Most of these limitations relate to their transcutaneous design that makes them susceptible to both interference from intervening skin/subcutaneous tissue, underlying hematoma, and instability of the skin-sensor interface. Here, we present a flexible, wireless, Bluetooth-enabled, percutaneously introducible intramuscular NIRS device that directly and continuously measures the StO2 of intracompartmental muscle. Proof of concept for this device is demonstrated in a swine lower extremity balloon compression model of acute CS, wherein we simultaneously track muscle oxygenation, ICP, and compartment perfusion pressure (PP). The observed StO2 decreased with increasing ICP and decreasing PP and then recovered following pressure reduction. The mean change in StO2 as the PP was decreased from baseline to 30 mmHg was -7.6%. The mean difference between baseline and nadir StO2 was -17.4%. Cross-correlations (absolute value) describing the correspondence between StO2 and ICP were >0.73. In the 19 F NMR spectra of aqueous solutions of I-III, strong singlet signals of the [SiF6 ]2- anion were registered at δ(F) = -133.35 ppm (I), -131.43 ppm (II), -129.02 ppm (III) with two satellites due to the spin-spin interaction 29 Si-19 F (J(29 Si-19 F) = 107.5 Hz (II), 107.6 Hz (III)). Litronesib cell line I-III reveal high solubility in water and dimethyl sulfoxide and very poor solubility in methanol and ethanol. All compounds demonstrate noticeable anticaries activity and absence of hepatotoxic effects, and bis(3-carboxyethylpyridinium) hexafluorosilicate II displays the highest caries-preventive efficacy, which significantly exceeds values for the reference preparations, NaF and (NH4 )2 [SiF6 ].
Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS), characterized by thinning or disappearance of the pituitary stalk, hypoplasia of the anterior pituitary, and an ectopic posterior pituitary, can lead to congenital combined pituitary hormone deficiency. There is a high prevalence of various metabolic disorders, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), in this population.

To investigate the characteristics of NAFLD in Chinese adult patients with PSIS and its association with growth hormone deficiency.

Retrospective cross-sectional study in a tertiary referral center of China.

Adult patients with PSIS diagnosed, followed up between September 2019 and August 2021, were consecutively enrolled.

Abdominal ultrasonography images were evaluated and noninvasive fibrosis scores were determined to assess the severity of NAFLD. Anthropometric, clinical, and biochemical parameters were compared between patients with and without NAFLD. Logistic regression was performed to assess the independent effects of i a frequent comorbidity among Chinese adult patients with PSIS and is strongly associated with lower IGF-1 levels. Timely and appropriate hormone replacement, particularly growth hormone may contribute to decreasing the risk of NAFLD in these patients.
To critically synthesize the literature that describes men's help-seeking and engagement with general practice.

Integrative literature review.

CINAHL plus, Medline and APA PsycInfo were searched for papers published between 1999 and March 2021.

After screening titles and abstracts, full-text papers were screened against inclusion / exclusion criteria. All included papers were assessed for methodological quality. Findings were extracted, critically examined and synthesized into themes.

Twenty studies met the inclusion criteria. Thematic analysis revealed four themes related to; (1) structural barriers, (2) internal barriers, (3) men's understanding of the role of general practice, and (4) self-care and help-seeking. The findings indicate that men can find general practice unwelcoming and unaccommodating. Men can also experience psychological barriers that impact engagement and help-seeking. Men predominantly view general practice as a source of acute health care and do not appreciate the role of general practice in preventive health care and advice.

This review has provided insight into the issues around the barriers to health care engagement, men's understanding of the role of general practice and their associated help-seeking. Seeking to further understand these issues could assist in the development of strategies to promote engagement of men with general practice health care.

Various dosing protocols of rituximab have been used in pemphigus. B-cell repopulation following rituximab treatment can be considered a forerunner of clinical relapse. Immunologically guided dosing may remove the need for fixed timepoint maintenance dosing, hence being more cost-effective and perhaps safer.

To compare the overall efficacy and cost-effectiveness of a low-dose rituximab regimen (500 mg, 2 weeks apart) with immunologically guided, ultralow-dose (200 mg) top-up infusions on immunological relapse vs. the use of a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) protocol with rituximab 500 mg repeat infusion to treat clinical relapse in severe pemphigus, over a 1-year period, METHODS In total, 23 patients with severe pemphigus were randomized into Group A (RA protocol 1000 mg given as two doses, 2 weeks apart) and Group B (low-dose rituximab 500 mg given as two doses, 2 weeks apart). Both groups also received short-term oral corticosteroids, and underwent clinical and immunological (3-monthly flow cytometry assessments of B-cell subtypes) monitoring.
