Checkered moderator effects were detected. Overall, the meta-analytic evidence was not robust. More studies are needed to reach definitive conclusions about whether SITBs are associated with brain differences.Facile fabrication and high ambient stability are strongly desired for the practical application of temperautre sensor in real-time wearable healthcare. Herein, a fully printed flexible temperature sensor based on cross-linked poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOTPSS) was developed. By introducing the crosslinker of (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GOPS) and the fluorinated polymer passivation (CYTOP), significant enhancements in humidity stability and temperature sensitivity of PEDOTPSS based film were achieved. The prepared sensor exhibited excellent stability in environmental humidity ranged from 30% RH to 80% RH, and high sensitivity of -0.77% °C-1 for temperature sensing between 25 °C and 50 °C. Moreover, a wireless temperature sensing platform was obtained by integrating the printed sensor to a printed flexible hybrid circuit, which performed a stable real-time healthcare monitoring.Ubiquitination is a critical post-translational modification machinery that governs a wide range of cellular functions by regulating protein homeostasis. Identification of ubiquitinated proteins and lysine residues can help researchers better understand the physiological roles of ubiquitin modification in different biological systems. In this study, we report the first comprehensive analysis of the peach ubiquitome by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry-based diglycine remnant affinity proteomics. Our systematic profiling revealed a total of 544 ubiquitination sites on a total of 352 protein substrates. Protein annotation and functional analysis suggested that ubiquitination is involved in modulating a variety of essential cellular and physiological processes in peach, including but not limited to carbon metabolism, histone assembly, translation and vesicular trafficking. Our results could facilitate future studies on how ubiquitination regulates the agricultural traits of different peach cultivars and other crop species. We previously reported the feasibility and efficacy of a simulation-guided clinical catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) in an in-silico AF model. We developed a highly efficient realistic AF model reflecting the patient endocardial voltage and local conduction and tested its clinical feasibility. We acquired > 500 endocardial bipolar electrograms during right atrial pacing at the beginning of the AF ablation procedures. Based on the clinical bipolar electrograms, we generated simulated voltage maps by applying fibrosis and local activation maps adjusted for the fiber orientation. The software's accuracy (CUVIA2.5) was retrospectively tested in 17 patients and feasibility prospectively in 10 during clinical AF ablation. Results We found excellent correlations between the clinical and simulated voltage maps (R = 0.933, p less then 0.001) and clinical and virtual local conduction (R = 0.958, p less then 0.001). The proportion of virtual local fibrosis was 15.4, 22.2, and 36.9% in the paroxysmal AF, persistent AF, and post-pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) states, respectively. The reconstructed virtual bipolar electrogram exhibited a relatively good similarities of morphology to the local clinical bipolar electrogram (R = 0.60 ± 0.08, p less then 0.001). Feasibility testing revealed an in situ procedural computing time from the clinical data acquisition to wave-dynamics analyses of 48.2 ± 4.9 min. All virtual analyses were successfully achieved during clinical PVI procedures. We developed a highly efficient, realistic, in situ procedural simulation model reflective of individual anatomy, fiber orientation, fibrosis, and electrophysiology that can be applied during AF ablation.Competition for limiting natural resources generates complex networks of relationships between individuals, both at the intra- and interspecific levels, establishing hierarchical scenarios among different population groups. Within obligate scavengers, and especially in vultures, the coevolutionary mechanisms operating during carrion exploitation are highly specialized and determined in part by agonistic behavior resulting in intra-guild hierarchies. This paper revisits the behavioral and hierarchical organization within the guild of European vultures, on the basis of their agonistic activities during carrion exploitation. We used a dataset distilled from high-quality videorecordings of competitive interactions among the four European vulture species during feeding events. We found a despotic dominance gradient from the larger species to smaller ones, and from the adults to subadults and juveniles, following an age and body size-based linear pattern. The four studied species, and to some extent age classes, show despotic dominance and organization of their guild exerting differential selection to different parts of the carrion. The abundance of these parts could ultimately condition the level of agonistic interactions. We discuss the behavioral organization and the relationship of hierarchies according to the feeding behavior and prey selection, by comparing with other scavenger guilds.Ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) permits the reconstruction of super-resolved microvascular images at clinically relevant penetration depths, which can be potentially leveraged to provide non-invasive quantitative measures of tissue hemodynamics and hypoxic status. We demonstrate that ULM microbubble data processing methods, applied to images acquired with a Verasonics Vantage 256 system, can provide a non-invasive imaging surrogate biomarker of tissue oxygenation status. This technique was applied to evaluate the microvascular structure, vascular perfusion, and hypoxia of a renal cell carcinoma xenograft model grown in the chorioallantoic membrane of chicken embryos. Histological microvascular density was significantly correlated to ULM measures of intervessel distance (R = -0.92, CI95 = [-0.99,-0.42], p = 0.01). The Distance Metric, a measure of vascular tortuosity, was found to be significantly correlated to hypoxyprobe quantifications (R = 0.86, CI95 = [0.17, 0.99], p = 0.03). ULM, by providing non-invasive in vivo microvascular structural information, has the potential to be a crucial clinical imaging modality for the diagnosis and therapy monitoring of solid tumors.B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) secretion is stimulated by cardiac dysfunction. However, it is unclear how finely myocardial ischaemia contributes to BNP secretion and whether increases in BNP secretion contribute to coronary vasodilation. This study investigated the direct interaction between plasma BNP levels and cardiac ischaemia using the baseline distal-to-aortic pressure ratio (Pd/Pa). We examined the baseline Pd/Pa and fractional flow reserve (FFR) in 167 patients with intermediate coronary stenosis. The plasma BNP level appeared to be associated with the baseline Pd/Pa in the study population, and this association appeared to become clear only in patients with an FFR ≤ 0.80. To examine the effect of the baseline Pd/Pa on the BNP level in these patients, structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed. The baseline Pd/Pa significantly affected the BNP level (β -0.37, p = 0.003) and the left ventricular ejection fraction (β 0.43, p = 0.001). To examine the role of BNP in coronary vasodilation, we proposed another path model using a novel value obtained by dividing the FFR by the baseline Pd/Pa (FFR/baseline Pd/Pa) as an index of the hyperaemic response. The BNP level significantly affected the FFR/baseline Pd/Pa (β 0.48, p = 0.037). This study demonstrated that BNP finely responded to an exacerbation of cardiac ischaemia and that increases in BNP secretion effectively ameliorated coronary vasoconstriction.Cancer stem cells (H1299-sdCSCs) were obtained from tumour spheres of H1299 human lung cancer cells. We studied low stiffness, a unique biophysical property of cancer cells, in H1299-sdCSCs and parental H1299. Atomic force microscopy revealed an average Young's modulus value of 1.52 kPa for H1299-sdCSCs, which showed low stiffness compared with that of H1299 cells, with a Young's modulus value of 2.24 kPa. (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) reversed the average Young's modulus value of H1299-sdCSCs to that of H1299 cells. EGCG treatment inhibited tumour sphere formation and ALDH1A1 and SNAI2 (Slug) expression. AXL receptor tyrosine kinase is highly expressed in H1299-sdCSCs and AXL knockdown with siAXLs significantly reduced tumour sphere formation and ALDH1A1 and SNAI2 (Slug) expression. An AXL-high population of H1299-sdCSCs was similarly reduced by treatment with EGCG and siAXLs. Transplantation of an AXL-high clone isolated from H1299 cells into SCID/Beige mice induced faster development of bigger tumour than bulk H1299 cells, whereas transplantation of the AXL-low clone yielded no tumours. Oral administration of EGCG and green tea extract (GTE) inhibited tumour growth in mice and reduced p-AXL, ALDH1A1, and SLUG in tumours. Thus, EGCG inhibits the stemness and tumourigenicity of human lung cancer cells by inhibiting AXL.We developed a diet and lifestyle score based on high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), and investigated its association with odds of adenoma. We performed stepwise linear regression to develop the predicted hsCRP score among 23,330 participants in the Health Examinee Study and examined its association with colorectal adenoma among 1,711 participants in a cross-sectional study of colorectal adenoma. We estimated odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of colorectal adenoma using logistic regression models. Variances in hsCRP explained by body mass index were 61.1% in men and 64.5% in women in the prediction model. The increasing predicted hsCRP score was positively associated with colorectal adenoma (ORquartile 4 VS quartile 1 1.71, 95% CI 1.12-2.62; Ptrend = 0.011 in men; ORquartile 4 VS quartile 1 2.86, 95% CI 1.26-6.49; Ptrend = 0.019 in women). In subgroups, the associations differed by age and menopausal status among women, with stronger associations among women aged less than 50 years (OR≥median VS less then median 3.74, 95% CI 1.77-7.90, p for interaction 0.014) or premenopausal women (OR≥median vs less then median 4.21, 95% CI 2.12-8.36, p for interaction less then 0.001). IDO-IN-2 cell line The associations were more pronounced in the advanced or distal colon/rectum in men and in the advanced or proximal colon in women. The associations were attenuated after further adjustment for body mass index. In conclusion, we found that the predicted hsCRP score was positively associated with colorectal adenoma, suggesting that diet and lifestyle lowering inflammation may be a strategy to prevent colorectal neoplasia.Vaccinating dogs against rabies is an effective means of reducing human rabies. We subjected 1327 clinically diagnosed human rabies death and mass dog vaccination (MDV) data during 2006-2018 to quantify the impacts of MDV on human rabies incidence in Bangladesh and a subset of rabies death data (422) for clinico-epidemiological analysis. A positive and increasing trend of MDV (p = 0.01 and tau = 0.71) and a negative and declining trend (p less then 0.001 and tau = -0.88) of human rabies cases (Correlation coefficient -0.82) have been observed. Among 422 deaths, the majority (78%) of the victims sought treatment from traditional healers, and 12% received post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). The mean incubation period of rabies in cases with exposure sites on the head & neck (35 days) was shorter than the upper limb (mean = 64 days, p = 0.02) and lower limb (mean = 89 days, p less then 0.01). MDV has been found to be effective for reducing human rabies cases in Bangladesh. Creating awareness among the animal bite victims to stop reliance on traditional healers rather seeking PEP, addressing the role of traditional healers through awareness education programme with respect to the treatment of dog bites, ensuring availability of PEP, and continuing to scale up MDV may help to prevent human rabies deaths.
