To explore the role of celecoxib with glucosamine hydrochloride on functional recovery and reduction of inflammatory factors in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Altogether 128 patients with knee osteoarthritis in the middle and early stage admitted to our hospital from January 2018 to July 2019 were selected and grouped into the control group (CG) (celecoxib tablet therapy) and the combination group (ComG) (celecoxib combined with glucosamine hydrochloride therapy). Blood routine indexes and inflammatory factor levels before and after intervention, Lequesne score, VAS pain and adverse reactions of the two groups of patients before and after intervention were explored. Before intervention, there was no evident difference between the two groups in each index (P>0.05). After intervention, the blood routine index IgM rheumatoid factor, albumin/globulin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, hs-CRP levels in the ComG were evidently better than those in the CG, while Lequesne score and VAS pain score were lower than those in the CG (P less then 0.01). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the ComG was evidently lower than that in the CG. Celecoxib combined with glucosamine hydrochloride is effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and has little adverse reactions. The research on bioactive secondary metabolites from Aspergillus fumigatus afforded six compounds, which were identified by mass spectrometer (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic analysis as cyclopyazonic acid (1), trypacidin A (2), asterric acid (3), methyl asterrate (4), demethylcitreoviranol (5), as well as (5-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-pyran-4-yl) methyl acetate (6). CM 4620 Cyclopyazonic acid (1) was found to have potent antibacterial effects, especially against Bacillus licheniformis with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 3.7μg/mL. Its antibacterial effects were possibly related to the olefinic acid group in the structure. Phenyl ether derivatives 3 and 4, and trypacidin A (2) also exhibited antimicrobial effects. In addition, compound 6 showed significant antioxidant effects with half maximal effective concentration (EC50) value of 10.2μM in the ABTS (2,2-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) assay, which was better than the positive control. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anxiolytic and antidepressant activity of ethanolic fruit extract of Pyrus communis (pear), in comparison with escitalopram in rodents (rats and mice). Thirty Wistar rats of about 200-250gm and albino mice of 25-30gm, male gender were divided into three groups each comprising of (n=10) animal respectively. Control group received distilled water, positive control received 10mg escitalopram & treated group received 200mg/kg/day of Pyrus communis ethanolic fruit extract orally for 30 days. They were evaluated by using the open field test, forced swim test (FST), plus maze test, light and dark test, hole poking test, stationary rod test, water maze test & cage crossing activity. Results were expressed as mean ± SD. Data was analyzed by using SPSS software (VERSION 21) one way ANOVA followed by Tukey test was used for post hoc analysis. Our result showed that fruit extract had significant antidepressant-like behavior in FST (p less then 0.001), open field (p less then 0.05), cage crossing (p less then 0.001) , significant anxiolytic activity in light and dark box test, plus-maze activity and significantly enhanced learning in water maze and stationary rod test when compared with control. The Pyrus communis fruit extract showed the anxiolytic and antidepressant-like profile in rats and mice. However, further studies need to be carried out in clinical trials for its use in different neuropsychological disorders. The present study designed to compare the effect of plasmapheresis (PPH) versus standard treatment (STD) in preventing recurrent AP in Chinese patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia. Chinese patients aged 18 to 65 years who had history of hypertriglyceridemia (>1000mg/dl) induced acute pancreatitis were assigned to plasmapheresis (up to 1.5 ml daily TG level reaches 500 mg/dl or less) or standard treatment (11). Standard treatment (STD) includes limited oral intake (pancreatic rest), intravenous hydration and pain management. Primary endpoint was incidence of recurrent acute pancreatitis. A total of 14% of patients in PPH group (N=50) had experienced recurrent pancreatitis as compared to 24% of patients in STD group (N=50). Also, TG clearance rate in 24 hours was substantially higher in PPH group as compared to STD. Time required to reach target TG was significantly lower in patients treated with PPH as compared to STD. Lower incidence of local complications was observed in PPH group as compared to STD. Length of stay was significantly shorter in patients of plasmapheresis group as compared to standard treatment. The results of this study recommend the use of plasmapheresis as a better alternative in preventing recurrent AP in Chinese patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia. This study attempted to investigate the effect of intravenous anesthesia with dexmedetomidine and propofol combined with seaweed polysaccharides on painless induced abortion. A total of 82 pregnant females were divided into study group and reference group. The subjects in the study group took seaweed polysaccharides orally before surgery and received intravenous anesthesia with dexmedetomidine and propofol, while the subjects in the reference group received intravenous anesthesia with sufentanil combined with propofol. The onset time of anesthesia in the reference group was significantly shorter than that in the study group (P less then 0.001) and both recovery time and the dosage of propofol in the study group were significantly lower than those in the reference group (P less then 0.001). The values of MAP and HR at T3 and T4, clinical analgesia effective rate, ramsay sedation scores and incidence of adverse reactions of the subjects in study group was significantly better than those indexes of the subjects in reference group (P less then 0.05). The intravenous anesthesia with dexmedetomidine and propofol combined with seaweed polysaccharides is a promising strategy for painless induced abortion, which is worthy of application and popularization in clinical practice.Chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) is the chronic inflammation with perforation of middle ear. If CSOM is not treated, it may cause secondary inflammation of liver with elevated liver enzymes and histological changes. Present study is aimed to observe the hepatotoxic effects due chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) in CSOM induced rats and alsoto observe the effects of ceftazidime and amikacin to attenuate hepatotoxicity due to CSOM. Liver enzyme tests and histological examinations were performed on rats divided into different groups as G1 (negative control), G2 (positive control), G3 ceftizidime (15mg/kgintraperitonelly) and G4 amikacin (15mg/kg). One-way ANOVA showed that liver enzymes were significantly increased (p=0.000 and F value 6.899) except gamma glutamic transferase in G2 (rats with CSOM without treatment) from G1 (negative control without CSOM) with histological damage of liver. These hepatotoxic effects were attenuated or recover with proper treatment with potent antibiotics (ceftazidime and amikacin). Therefore, study showed that chronic suppurative otitis media can induce hepatic toxicity including elevated liver enzymes level and inflammation, aggregation or infiltration in liver cells in rat model with reversible hepatic damage. If CSOM is treated with adult dose of ceftazidime or amikacin, it may attenuate the damage and prevent risk of liver damage. To reveal the protective effect of Terminalia chebula Retz (TCR) on cardiotoxicity induced by radix of Aconitum kusnezoffii Reichb (AKR). Control, AKR, AKR-TCR 13, AKR-TCR 11, AKR-TCR 31 and TCR-prepared AKR groups were set up. After treatment, the heart tissues were observed by H&E staining and transmission electron microscope. Serum myoglobin (MB) and troponin (cTn) were detected by ELISA. UPLC-Q Exactive/MS analysis was performed to detect the metabolic difference among the groups. ELISA results showed that the MB and cTn values of AKR group were significantly higher than Control group (P less then 0.05), while those of the other groups were lower than AKR group. TCR-prepared AKR group had similar MB and cTn contents to the Control group. Histopathological examination also indicated better detoxifying effects in the TCR-prepared AKR and AKR-TCR 11 group. The serum metabolomics analysis showed obvious distinction between the AKR and Control groups, while AKR-TCR combination reversed the metabolomics changes induced by AKR. Through multivariate statistical analysis, 9 metabolic markers related to energy, nucleic acid and amino acid metabolism were identified. Conclusively, AKR-induced cardiotoxicity may be related to energy, nucleic acid and amino acid metabolism, and TCR can reduce the cardiotoxicity by regulating the relative metabolism pathways. This study designed to evaluate efficacy and safety profile of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) versus Acetyl cysteine (NACys) in the Chinese patients with Chronic renal failure (CRF). The CRF patients having eGFR less than 60ml per minute per 1.73m2 randomly assigned to MSCs (N=100) or NACys (N=100) (11) for 8 weeks. MSCs administered as intravenous infusion of marrow-derived autologous MSCs (1 × 106 to 2 × 106/kg) reperfusion, whereas, another group received NACys 600mg orally twice a day for 8 weeks. The efficacy variables include creatinine; cystatin C; TGF-β levels; oxidants/reactive oxygen species production induced by TGF-β; collagen levels (type 1 and 4); urinary albumin/creatinine ratio and Glomerular area. Safety was also assesed. Both the treatments significantly decreased creatinine, cystatin C and reactive oxygen species from baseline, however, reduction in creatinine, cystatin C, and reactive oxygen species level from baseline was significantly higher in patient treated with MSCs (N=100) as compared to NACys (N=100). Moreover, improvement in renal and systemic functional parameters from baseline was significantly higher in patient treated with MSCs as compared to NACys. Overall, MSCs offer significantly greater improvement in renal function as compared to NACys in Chinese CRF patients. The present study was conducted to estimate the prevalence of pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-6, highly sensitive C-reactive protein, and tumor necrotic factor alpha and evaluate the association and role of these inflammatory markers in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. A retrospective case-control study was conducted in Karachi. 400 individuals participated in the study having 200 diabetic patients and 200 controls. The subjects' profile and anthropometric indices were recorded and the levels of FPG, fasting insulin, lipid profile, IL-6, and hs-CRP were determined. Insulin resistance, beta-cell function and sensitivity were calculated by HOMA analysis using the HOMA calculator. Using independent t-test BMI, percent body fats, HbA1c, FPG, and fasting insulin were found significant (p less then 0.05). HOMA-IR, percent beta cell, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL showed significant (p less then 0.05) results among cases and controls. Similarly, TNF-α and hs-CRP were also found significant (p less then 0.
