Racial and socioeconomic inequities in respiratory pandemics have been consistently documented, but little official guidance exists on effective action to prevent these. We systematically reviewed quantitative evaluations of (real or simulated) interventions targeting racial and socioeconomic inequities in respiratory pandemic outcomes.
Our systematic search returned 10,208 records, of which 5 met inclusion criteria, including observational (
= 1), randomized trial (
= 1), and simulation (
= 3) studies. Interventions studied included vaccination parity, antiviral distribution, school closure, disinfection, personal protective equipment, and paid sick leave, with a focus on Black (
= 3) and/or Latinx (
= 4) or low-SES (
= 2) communities. Results are suggestive that these interventions might be effective at reducing racial and/or SES disparities in pandemics.

However, effects of amisulpride on gut microbiota are poorly defined. This study was aimed at analyzing cytokines and fecal microbiota in patients with exacerbated symptoms of schizophrenia treated with amisulpride during four weeks of their hospital stay. In the present study, feces collected from patients with schizophrenia were analyzed using 16S rRNA pyrosequencing and bioinformatic analyses to ascertain gut microbiome composition and fasting peripheral blood cytokines. We found that patients undergoing treatment of schizophrenia with amisulpride had distinct changes in gut microbial composition at the genus level, increased levels of short-chain fatty acid-producing bacteria (Dorea and Butyricicoccus), and reduced levels of pathogenic bacteria (Actinomyces and Porphyromonas), but the level of Desulfovibrio was still high. We also found a significant downregulation of butanoate metabolism based on functional analysis of the microbiome. After treatment, elevated levels of interleukin- (IL-) 4 and decreased levels of IL-6 were found. Our findings extend prior work and suggest a possible pharmacological mechanism of amisulpride treatment for schizophrenia, which acts via mediation of the gut microbiome.Nowadays, sentimental analysis of consumers' review is becoming much crucial in the marketing world. It is not just giving ideas to the firms that how consumers like their product or service, but it would also help them make their service better. In this article, the statistical method identifies the relationship of many factors in consumer feedback. It introduces a deep-based learning method called DSC (deep sentiment classifier) to determine whether or not to recommend the reviewed product thoroughly. Our suggested method also investigates the effect sizes of the feedback, such as positives, negatives, and neutrals. We used the women's clothing review dataset containing 22,642 records after preprocessing of the results. Experimental studies show that the recommendations are an excellent positive sentiment indicator. In comparison, ratings become fuzzy performance metrics in product reviews. The 10-fold cross-validation analysis shows that the recommended form has the top F1 score (93.56%) in the sentimental classification on average and the recommended classification (88.32%) on average. A comparative description of other classifiers focused on machine learning, for example, KNN, random forest, logistic regression, decision tree, support vector machine multilayer perceptron, and naïve Bayes, also demonstrates that DSC gives the best possible result. We have tested DSC on the dataset IMDB (Internet Video Database), which includes the sentiment of the 50,000 movie reviews (25000 for training and 25000 for testing). In comparison to other baseline methods, DSC obtained an excellent classification score for this experiment.There is limited evidence that socially responsible investment (SRI) strategies can resolve persistent concerns brought up in scholarship on the industry, particularly as it relates to considerations of justice. Here, we present Multilabel-SiSSR (M-SiSSR), a novel method for registering a "labeled" cardiac mesh (with each triangle assigned to a cardiac structure). We compare our results to the original, label-agnostic version of SiSSR and find both a visual and quantitative improvement in tracking of the mitral valve plane.The COVID-19 pandemic has profound implications for education of young children worldwide and especially for children in developing economies like India. This article presents a qualitative study that explored the challenges that private school teachers in low budget, mid-ranged, and high fee charging private schools faced in two cities in India. All the private schools in this study also followed the government mandate to reserve 25% of seats for children from low-income families. During the school closure, remote instruction was employed in schools where participating teachers taught. Teachers faced challenges related to parental involvement and children's participation in remote instruction. Parental involvement challenges included parental lack of access to technological devices and no or minimal access to internet for their children to participate in remote instruction activities. Parental lack of support due to their low technological literacy and literacy in general, lack of fluency in the English Language, as well as lack of time also contributed to their children's low participation in remote instruction. Teachers faced challenges in implementing remote instruction with children from different socio-economic backgrounds; however, the challenges were greater with families from low-income backgrounds. The study's findings suggest that governments around the world need to ensure children's access to digital tools and internet services which are essential elements in children's participation in remote instruction. For children in families where parents are unable to support their children's education at home, other support services may be instituted to take the pressure off of parents. Future studies may explore the 'learning loss' that may have resulted from the long school closure during the pandemic.Some reports suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in shifts to unhealthier diets. These unhealthier diets may include sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs), which strongly contribute to diabetes and other chronic diseases. Using cross-sectional surveys in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA we sought to assess self-reported SSB consumption during the pandemic's shelter-in-place and self-reported changes in SSB purchasing from before to during the pandemic's shelter-in-place, stratifying by indices of pandemic-related financial hardship. Nearly 60% of our diverse sample (N = 943) reported that it was harder to pay for basics (like food and utilities) during shelter-in-place. Among those who found it harder to pay for basics and received financial assistance during shelter-in-place, we found a ten-fold higher frequency of daily SSB consumption compared to those not facing new financial hardship (2.76 [95% CI 1.78, 3.74] versus 0.30 [95% CI 0.23, 0.37] times/day). There were no statistically significant increases in reported purchasing of any SSB, but those with new financial hardship during shelter-in-place reported greater purchasing of regular soda relative to those with no new hardship (0.20 on a 3-point scale [95% CI 0.03, 0.37]). Our findings suggest that new hardship may increase unhealthy behaviors and worsen existing disparities in SSB consumption. Such disparities are a reminder of the urgent need to reduce economic inequity and improve the quality of our emergency food system in order to mitigate the impact of public health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
