Can a Multi-Marker and Device Mastering Strategy Aid Stratify Sufferers using Center Disappointment?
Background The OrsiroTM ultrathin-strut, biodegradable-polymer, sirolimus-eluting stent (O-SES) has specific characteristics regarding its components and has demonstrated comparable clinical outcomes compared with durable-polymer, drug-eluting stents (DES). However, arterial repair following deployment of the O-SES has not been elucidated to date. Methods and Results Using data from the Kansai Rosai Hospital database between November 2010 and September 2020, we analyzed coronary angioscopy (CAS) findings a mean (±SD) of 10±2 months after implantation of an O-SES, a durable-polymer everolimus-eluting stent (XienceTM; X-EES), or a biodegradable-polymer everolimus-eluting stent (SynergyTM; S-EES). Neointimal coverage (NIC), yellow color intensity of the stented segment, and the incidence of thrombus adhesion were compared between the O-SES (66 stents from 42 patients), X-EES (119 stents from 87 patients), and S-EES (132 stents from 88 patients). NIC was significantly thinner for the O-SES than S-EES (P less then 0.001), but was similar between the O-SES and X-EES (P=0.25). Yellow color intensity was significantly greater for the O-SES than X-EES (P less then 0.001), but similar between the O-SES and S-EES (P=0.51). The incidence of thrombus adhesions was similar in all 3 groups. Conclusions O-SES and X-EES resulted in similar inhibition of NIC and both resulted in a thinner NIC than with S-EES. In addition, O-SES exhibited a similar degree of thrombus adhesion as the other DES, suggesting similar thrombogenicity. Background Since the reporting of a cluster outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in sports gyms, the Japanese Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) shared a common understanding of the importance of preventing patients and healthcare providers from contracting COVID-19. This questionnaire survey aimed to clarify the status of CR in Japan during the COVID-19 outbreak. Methods and Results An online questionnaire survey was conducted in 37 Japanese CR training facilities after the national declaration of a state of emergency in 7 prefectures. Among these facilities, 70% suspended group ambulatory CR and 43% suspended cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX). In contrast, all facilities maintained individual inpatient CR. Of the 37 facilities, 95% required CR staff to wear a surgical mask during CR. In contrast, 50% of facilities did not require patients to wear a surgical mask during CR. Cardiac telerehabilitation was only conducted by a limited number of facilities (8%), because this method was still under development. In our survey, 30% of the facilities not providing cardiac telerehabilitation had specific plans for its future use. Conclusions Our data demonstrate that ambulatory CR and CPX were suspended to avoid the spread of COVID-19. In the future, we need to consider CR resumption and develop new technologies for cardiovascular patients, including cardiac telerehabilitation. This study examined the social impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on Bangkok slum residents and the initiatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to relieve negative impacts. A mixed-methods study was conducted based on the Social Impact framework. In June 2020, a cross-sectional survey was carried out among 900 participants from nine slums in different zones of Bangkok. In July 2020, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 19 slum residents and four CSOs to gain in-depth information on the social impact of COVID-19 and CSOs' response. Out of 900 participants, 25.9% lost their jobs during the lockdown and 52.7% lost their income. The job and income loss increased the poverty rate within the participants from 51.6% to 91.7%. Participants limited their mobility and social activities during the lockdown. Stress was increased among 42.6% of all participants and the increased stress was associated with both income loss and self-quarantine. Due to financial constraints, a significant proportion of participants had to limit their food consumption and/or their consumption of nutritious but more expensive food. Almost one-tenth of the participants relied on donated food only. The majority of the participants (61.1%) could not access the income compensation scheme. see more COVID-19 forced Bangkok slums residents to live below the subsistence level in multiple ways with limited access to social protections. CSOs played an important role in relieving the suffering by providing food, survival kits, jobs, and access to COVID-19 test. Their agility, skills and knowledge about slums, and social capital enabled a rapid response to the crisis. Experienced local CSOs should be engaged as a bridge between urban slums and social protections. A holistic approach to combatting the COVID-19 crisis should be implemented. It is important to find the balance between preventing death from the virus and preventing suffering and death from an economic crisis. This paper examines the mechanisms through which employees' perception of rewards influences their radical innovation. The paper develops and empirically tests a model proposing that perceived rewards influence radical innovation via the mediating mechanisms of knowledge acquisition and knowledge sharing. Data from three Indian manufacturing companies were collected using a questionnaire. Responses from 235 employees were analysed (using structural equation modeling via AMOS27) to examine the links between perceived rewards, knowledge sharing, knowledge acquisition, and radical innovation. The findings showed that 1) perceived rewards had positive and significant relationships with radical innovation, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge sharing; 2) knowledge acquisition had a positive and significant relation with radical innovation, but knowledge sharing was not significantly related to radical innovation; and 3) knowledge acquisition mediated the relationship between perceived rewards and radical innovation. No support was found for the mediating role of knowledge sharing in radical innovation. The paper examines the overlooked role of perceived rewards in facilitating knowledge behaviours and radical innovation. In addition, the practices examined in the model are assessed as perceived by employees, rather than as perceived or intended by managers.Financial and factor demand analysis of broiler production has been estimated in this paper using a farm survey data of 210 farmers from four major broiler producing areas (i.e., Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Chittagong) of Bangladesh. Findings showed that broiler farming incurred most of its cost from its operating input, mainly feed. Broiler farming was financially profitable, but the performance of Mymensingh division was comparatively low, arising from a high unit cost of production and low unit price selling than the others. The net return was highest in Dhaka division, while Rajshahi division showed the highest ratio in returns on investment. However, in terms of cost (variable) and net return of broiler farming, no significant difference among the study areas was observed. The value of own price elasticity for feed, chick price, and labour price were negative and inelastic, which were -0.00249, -0.05718, and -0.13101, respectively. Besides, a complementary relationship was found between feed and day-old chick and feed and labour while day-old chick and labour were substitutes. The study also revealed that cross price elasticity was highly inelastic, and changes in the prices of inputs did not result in massive changes in the quantity demanded of other inputs for broiler farming.
We evaluated the impact of age in septic patients admitted through the ER on clinical outcome and cost.

Patients with sepsis admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) through the emergency room in our hospital between January 2013 and December 2018 were analyzed. They were divided into three groups according to their age <65 years (group Y); 65-79 years (group M); and ≥80 years (group E). The duration of ICU and hospital stay, prognosis, and total hospital costs were compared among the three groups.

During this period, 1,392 patients were admitted to the ICU through the emergency room, and 174 patients with sepsis were analyzed. There were 49, 79, and 46 patients in groups Y, M, and E, respectively. There was no significant difference in ICU stay. Group E exhibited the shortest hospital stay and the lowest total hospital cost with statistically significant difference (p = 0.010 and p = 0.007, respectively). However, group E showed the highest rate of hospital mortality (30.4%) compared to groups Y and M (14.3% and 21.5%, respectively; p = 0.163).

Elderly (aged ≥80 years) emergency patients with sepsis require shorter hospital stay and are associated with lower total hospital cost. However, it may be difficult for these patients to maintain the hospital mortality equivalent to those observed in patients aged <80 years.

The current anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant agents are associated with adverse effects, inaccessibility, high costs, and low efficacies, thereby warranting the need for alternatives, especially from natural sources. Lonchocarpus eriocalyx plant is traditionally used in Kenyan communities to treat various inflammatory and oxidative stress-associated diseases; however, its pharmacologic efficacy and safety have not been empirically validated, hence this study. The in vivo antiinflamatory and antinociceptive efficacy of the aqueous and methanolic stem bark extracts of L. eriocalyx were determined using the xylene-induced ear oedema, and the acetic acid-induced writhing techniques, respectively, in experimental mice. Also, in vitro antioxidant activities of the studied plant extracts were investigated using the Thiobarbituric acid test for lipid peroxidation, 1, . Further studies on the anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antioxidant mechanism(s) and isolation and characterisation of responsible compounds are encouraged to spur the development of affordable, accessible, safe, and efficacious drugs.
Hemolacria is a rare condition that is characterized by the presence of blood in tears. It is a rare condition due to which insufficient literature and resources are present. Therefore, its prevalence and predilection for a specific gender, race or age remain uncertain. Hemolacria is one of the most alarming symptoms in ophthalmology, associated with multiple underlying etiologies and diseases.

We report an unusual case of a 12-year-old female patient who experienced episodic bilateral bloody tears for 3 days, which was associated with epistaxis. The patient's condition was thoroughly evaluated, and all investigations were unremarkable. The patient was then referred to an ophthalmologist for evaluation, and a slit-lamp examination was also unremarkable. After performing all necessary investigations and taking various causes of hemolacria into account, the child was diagnosed as having idiopathic hemolacria. The patient and parent were appropriately counseled regarding the disease, and thereafter, the patient is being followed-up by an ophthalmologist.
