Objective To summarize the clinical features of Streptococcus pneumoniae-associated hemophagocytic syndrome (SP-HLH), and the serotypes and drug-resistant characteristics of the isolated strains. Methods There were 15 children with SP-HLH admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 2013 to December 2020 were included in this study. Clinical data including children's general characteristics, clinical features, laboratory examinations, treatments, prognosis and the outcomes of follow-up by May 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. The serotypes and drug resistance of the isolated strains were identified. All children were divided into the clinical improvement group and the death group. Mann-Whitney U test, Fisher's exact test were used to compare the data of the two groups. Results Among the 15 children with SP-HLH, 8 were males and 7 were females. The age of these children was 1.0 (1.0, 2.5) years. Regarding the primary infection, t3F, 1 of 15A and 1 of 14, among which 9 strains (9/10) were covered by PCV13. All strains were resistant to erythromycin yet sensitive to vancomycin and linezolid. Conclusions SP-HLH is more common in children under the age of 3, with a high mortality rate. The death cases have lower neutrophil count and rapid disease progression. The comprehensive treatment is anti-infective combined with glucocorticoids and high-dose IVIG. The predominant serotypes are 19F and 19A and all isolated strains were susceptible to vancomycin and linezolid. Objective To analyze the eligibility of empirical antibiotic therapy in culture positive sepsis in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and to explore the application of antibiotic de-escalation (ADE) in children with sepsis and its impact on prognosis. Methods A total of 123 children with sepsis-associated organ dysfunction or septic shock admitted to the PICU of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2018 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The general information, laboratory tests, the use of empirical anti-bacterial drugs and the application of ADE were collected. According to the adjustment of anti-bacterial drugs, these children were divided into ADE group and non-ADE group. Comparisons between groups were performed with unpaired Student t test, or Mann-Whitney U test, or chi-square test or Fisher exact test. Results In these 123 children, 70 were males and 53 were females, the age was 11.4 (2.8, 56.5) months. Body fluid culture was detected positive in 41 children significant adverse effects on prognosis in children with sepsis. Objective To investigate the prognostic factors of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) who had undergone cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in China. Methods From November 2017 to October 2018, this retrospective multi-center study was conducted in 11 hospitals in China. It contained data from 281 cases who had undergone CPR and all of the subjects were divided into CHD group and non-CHD group. The general condition, duration of CPR, epinephrine doses during resuscitation, recovery of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), discharge survival rate and pediatric cerebral performance category in viable children at discharge were compared. According to whether malignant arrhythmia is the direct cause of cardiopulmonary arrest or not, children in CHD and non-CHD groups were divided into 2 subgroups arrhythmia and non-arrhythmia, and the ROSC and survival rate to discharge were compared. Data in both groups were analyzed by t-test, chi-square analysis or ANOVA, and logistision analysis indicated that the independent prognostic factors of ROSC and survival to discharge in children with CHD were CPR duration (odds ratio (OR)=0.95, 0.97; 95%CI 0.92~0.97, 0.95~0.99; both P less then 0.05) and epinephrine dosage (OR=0.87 and 0.79, 95%CI 0.76-1.00 and 0.69-0.89, respectively; both P less then 0.05). Conclusions There is no difference between CHD and non-CHD children in ROSC and survival rate of survival to discharge was low. The epinephrine dosage and the duration of CPR are related to the ROSC and survival to discharge of children with CHD.The calcium-permeable cation channel TRPM3 can be activated by heat and the endogenous steroid pregnenolone sulfate. TRPM3's best understood function is its role as a peripheral noxious heat sensor in mice. However, the channel is expressed in various tissues and cell types including neurons as well as glial and epithelial cells. TRPM3 expression patterns differ between species and change during development. Furthermore, a plethora of TRPM3 variants that result from alternative splicing have been identified and the majority of these isoforms are yet to be characterized. Moreover, the mechanisms underlying regulation of TRPM3 are largely unexplored. In addition, a micro-RNA gene (miR-204) is located within the TRPM3 gene. This complexity makes it difficult to obtain a clear picture of TRPM3 characteristics. However, a clear picture is needed to unravel TRPM3's full potential as experimental tool, diagnostic marker and therapeutic target. Therefore, the newest data related to TRPM3 have to be discussed and to be put in context as soon as possible to be up-to-date and to accelerate the translation from bench to bedside. The aim of this review is to highlight recent results and developments with particular focus on findings from studies involving ocular tissues and cells or peripheral neurons of rodents and humans.
To promote active commuting to and from school, it is pertinent to understand the motivational factors that influence the choice of this form of transportation.
Translation, cultural adaptation and analysis of the factor structure as well as psychometric properties of the Basic Psychological Needs and Satisfaction in Active Commuting to and from School (BPNS-ACS) scale among Polish students and examination of the distribution of the scale scores according to gender, mode of commuting to and from school and the frequency of using bicycle for this purpose.
Data from 475 Polish students aged 11-18, including 53.9% of girls were analysed. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis of the Polish version of the BPNS-ACS, U Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Wallis H tests were performed.
The BPNS-ACS consists of 12 items forming three dimensions autonomy, competence and relatedness need satisfaction. Infigratinib cell line The scale has acceptable psychometric properties χ2(51)=195.424 (p ˂ 0.001); χ2/df=3.832; CFI=0.944, TLI=0.927, RMSEA=0.077 (90%CI 0.066-0.089), AIC=249.424, BIC=361.833, GFI=0.937, AGFI=0.904. BPNC-ACS scores on factors corresponding to the three basic psychological needs differ based on gender, mode of commuting to and from school and the frequency of cycling to or from school.
Further exploration of the function of basic psychological needs in active commuting to and from school among Polish adolescents may be conducted using an adapted version of the BPNS-ACS scale.

The UN has recognised well-being as a main goal of The Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescents' Health (2016-2030).
The aim was to identify the areas of mental health that are the most significant to teenagers.
The mixed-method approach was applied. Quantitative research included adolescents aged 11-15 years (6,026 in Portugal; 4,545 in Poland). HBSC study results (2013/2014) were analysed in terms of the following variables self-rated health, life satisfaction (Cantril Ladder, KIDSCREEN-10 Index), and psychosomatic complaints (SCL scale). Focus workshops took place in 2018, with 72 teenagers aged 14 to 16.
16.6% of the Polish participants and 12.7% of the Portuguese participants were concerned about their health. Polish participants were less satisfied with their life [KIDSCREEN score 25.48 for Poland (SD=6.39), and 29.96 (SD=6.03) for Portugal]. Both nations associated mental health (MH) with the family setting and relationships with friends. An additional association among Portuguese teenagers involved social issues, whereas Polish adolescents were more focussed on relationships with various people in their environment, as well as on experiencing issues at school and in the family.
Adolescent MH is determined by stress, environmental pressure and high expectations. The viewpoints of adolescents are the most valuable source of knowledge for specialists, researchers and youth institutions, who can benefit greatly from taking advantage of this resource.

Costs and a low total number of cases may be obstacles to the successful implementation of a paediatric robotic surgery programme. The aim of this study was to evaluate a decade of paediatric robotic surgery and to reflect upon factors for success and to consider obstacles.
All children operated on with robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery between 2006 and 2016 were included in a retrospective, single-institutional study in Lund, Sweden.
A total of 152 children underwent robotic surgery during the study time with the most frequent procedures being fundoplication (n=55) and pyeloplasty (n=53). Procedure times decreased significantly during the study period. Overall, 18 (12%) of the operations were converted to open surgery, and seven (5%) patients required a reoperation.
Despite a low volume of surgery, we have successfully introduced robotic paediatric surgery in our department. Our operative times and conversion rates are continuously decreasing.

Boron neutron capture therapy is an emerging procedure aimed at improving the therapeutic ratio for the traditional treatment of various malignancies, which has been studied clinically in a variety of diseases, including glioblastoma, head and neck cancer, cutaneous melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, and extramammary Paget's disease. However, boron neutron capture therapy has not been clinically performed for urological cancers, excluding genital extramammary Paget's disease that appeared at the scrotum to penis area. In this review, we aimed to provide an updated summary of the current clinical literature of patients treated with boron neutron capture therapy and to focus on the future prospects of boron neutron capture therapy for urological cancers.
