Objectives. The effectiveness of Internet interventions for employees with depressive disorder remains controversial. We summarized all available evidence exploring the role of Internet interventions in reducing employees' depressive symptoms. Methods. This study was a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis that included acceptability and preliminary feasibility studies. We excluded programme descriptions, discussion articles and study protocols. We followed the PRISMA guidelines and searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Library and Web of Science from database inception to May 2021 for articles published in English. We extracted data concerning demographics, intervention format, including Internet interventions, control group conditions and outcome measures. We used a random-effects model and calculated Hedges' g values for the scores of employees receiving Internet interventions versus control conditions. This systematic review is registered as INPLASY202160082. Results. Data from 19 studies were included. These 19 studies included 5898 participants (2813 participants received Internet interventions, 3085 participants were in control groups). Conclusions. The findings suggest that Internet interventions can be effective in improving depression in employees. However, more randomized controlled trials are needed to provide better evidence regarding Internet interventions for employees with depression, and robust studies are needed to observe the effectiveness of Internet interventions.Question answering aims at computing the answer to a question given a context with facts. Many proposals focus on questions whose answer is explicit in the context; lately, there has been an increasing interest in questions whose answer is not explicit and requires multi-hop inference to be computed. Our analysis of the literature reveals that there is a seminal proposal with increasingly complex follow-ups. Unfortunately, they were presented without an extensive study of their hyper-parameters, the experimental studies focused exclusively on English, and no statistical analysis to sustain the conclusions was ever performed. In this paper, we report on our experience devising a very simple neural approach to address the problem, on our extensive grid search over the space of hyper-parameters, on the results attained with English, Spanish, Hindi, and Portuguese, and sustain our conclusions with statistically sound analyses. Our findings prove that it is possible to beat many of the proposals in the literature with a very simple approach that was likely overlooked due to the difficulty to perform an extensive grid search, that the language does not have a statistically significant impact on the results, and that the empirical differences found among some existing proposals are not statistically significant.In brain tissue of three harbor seals of the German North Sea coast, high virus loads of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) H5N8 were detected. It may be associated with the absence of a finger. The goals of treatment are cleft closure, increasing the length of the hypoplastic little finger and preservation of function. We report two patients with ulnar cleft hand without missing fingers. Both underwent cleft closure. One was treated by lengthening of the fifth metacarpal with an external fixator, and the other by finger translocation. Both patients achieved a near normal length of the little finger and a reasonable functional and aesthetic outcome. Level of Evidence Level V (Therapeutic).Volar dislocation of the trapezoid is a rare injury and is easily missed. It is more common to have a dorsal dislocation of trapezoid or multiple carpometacarpal joint dislocations. The rare nature of the injury also means that there is little guidance in literature regarding optimal treatment. We are reporting the presentation, management and a 3-year follow-up of this rare injury in a 19-year-old male. Level of Evidence Level V (Therapeutic).Irreducible phalangeal fractures are uncommon, and if neglected can cause fracture non-union or functional deficits of the affected digit. We present two patients with irreducible phalangeal fractures - one in a child with a juxta-epiphyseal middle phalanx fracture incarcerated into the triangular ligament of the extensor apparatus and another in an adult following incarceration of a fractured proximal phalanx into the common intrinsic tendon on the radial side. Both required open reduction to extricate the incarcerated fracture ends, achieving good union and excellent functional outcomes. Surgical excision of fibrotic tissue and advancement of local flaps is the gold standard for constriction bands of the upper limb. We report the use of an adipofascial Superficial Circumflex Iliac Artery perforator (SCIP) flap to improve contour following amniotic band resection in the upper extremity in two patients with ABS. The use of this microsurgical technique can be considered in the occasional patient when there is a deficit of soft tissues after release of the contracture band that cannot be addressed with locally available tissue.Before the COVID-19 pandemic, questions about the increased use of telemedicine had become common in conversations among medical providers. With the onset of the pandemic, these questions became more pronounced, and quick implementation became the key. However, considering how quickly telemedicine has been implemented, the impact on frontline workers, such as social workers, has not been specifically explored. What were some of the self-care techniques employed by social workers? What were the emerging best practices of social workers at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system in the U.S. South? We needed to explore these questions to formulate knowledge that could be beneficial for VA health care. This literature review assesses the current responses from the field of social work during the COVID-19 pandemic, leveraging telemedicine, social work self-care, and the fluidity of VA services.
To evaluate the influencing factors and cognitive functional changes in Rasmussen encephalitis (RE) patients who received a hemispherectomy.

Forty RE patients underwent a hemispherectomy with at least a 2 years follow- up were included in this study. Postoperative seizure outcomes were evaluated according to the Engle classification scale. Univariate analysis and a multivariate logistic regression model in a backward fashion were used to identify the potential predictors of cognitive function.

All 40 patients had an Engle classification outcome at a 2years follow-up. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that seizure duration (OR 10.06, 95% CI 1.54-3.85, p =0.038), age at surgery (OR 3.06, 95% CI 1.21-3.56, p =0.043), and MRI score (OR 0.09, 95% CI 0.01-0.67 p =0.024) are associated with postoperative cognitive outcomes respectively. Moreover, VIQ and PIQ were negatively correlated linearly with duration of seizures and MRI score. Patients with a good VIQ and PIQ before the operation were more likely to have a better VIQ and PIQ postoperatively (p<0.001 and p <0.001, respectively). To gather data on the calf management and rearing practices of a subset of dairy farmers in the south-west region of Western Australia.

A 30-minute face-to-face survey was conducted with dairy cattle producers in the south-west region of Western Australia from April-June 2019 to determine pre-weaning calf rearing practices. Participation was voluntary, using a self-selected subset of dairy farmers registered with a regional extension group. The questionnaire assessed three broad categories farm demographics, colostrum harvesting and management and calf rearing practices.

The study response rate was 34/140 (24%). The following key areas were identified where there were deviations from recognised best practice Precalving no transition diet was fed pre-calving on 4/34 (12%) of farms, and on a further 5/34 (15%) it was fed for less than 3 weeks; mixing of heifers and adult cows in the calving paddocks occurred in 24/34 (70%) of the farms, with 15% (5/34) of the farms using calving induction.
