Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs
All-terrain pushchair that provides lightweight durability and great maneuverability. The compact fold using one hand makes it easy to carry. It can also stand on its own when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a nearly flat position and there's a giant storage bin and canopy. Baby suitability: Yes, with a separate carrycot (not suitable for overnight sleeping).
A good suspension and air-filled tires will help you navigate through rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging, but you should wait until your baby is at least six or nine months old for this.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. This travel system includes a carrycot that is flat for babies and an adjustable forward and rear facing pushchair seat.
The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to understand why it's earned such high marks from its customers. It is extremely light The chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg. It's also very simple to put together. In fact I was able to put it up and running in just five minutes, which is amazing given that it included attaching the fabric for the carrycot!
The seat is large and comfortable for Annie, who is 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to operate. The basket is spacious with plenty of space and I am impressed that the handle bar comes with pockets to keep your phone and keys secure.
The only slight downside is the handlebar is low, which can be an issue for parents who are taller. However, it's coated in a lovely leather-like material that's soft and comfortable, and it wipes down easily, meaning it's still easy to push even with children and bags on your hands!
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is designed for active parents who want to go out and explore. The large pneumatic wheels are able to be used on forest and field paths. The front wheel is lockable and swivels to increase the flexibility. 3 wheel buggy comes with five-point safety harnesses with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child secure on all trips. The parking brake keeps the stroller in place while you take a rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened to allow maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to accommodate the needs of dad or mum.
The Runner will accompany you on any adventure, whether it's a quick run, a more strenuous hike, or a long-distance walk. It features a completely flat lay-flat seat that has suspension air wheels for an easy ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks. The stroller can also be folded in order to fit into car boot spaces and storage areas.
Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a little more difficult to navigate than its predecessor, and the locking mechanism is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on each side of the push bar). The handlebar is a little higher than other strollers', so it might not work for smaller parents however, overall it's an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller that's worthy of consideration for families with active kids.
Red Kite Push Me walking
Red Kite's Pace is a top product from the cost-effective British brand. They are well-known for their clean, well-designed products that are essentials for parents. It's the newest - and priciest - addition to their bargain lightweight stroller range and like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo is car seat compatible so that you can use it from birth (the carrycot folds away).
The new Pace features some stunning design elements, including a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis, and stroller trims that truly distinguish it from. The grey, tan and cream fabrics used in the stroller as well as the car seat are elegant and there is an option to add an coordinating leather handle for the cover and bumper bar too.
The stroller seat is used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It converts easily to a two-in-one reversible position, which is either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat features several lie-back positions, plus comfortable padded leg rests, and an extendable sun canopy that has concealed zip sections, a viewing see-through flap, and a retractable visor.
When folded it's Pace measures 56 x 43 x 32cm which means it can be used as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. Two buttons on either side are easy utilize and press into the appropriate position.
Bugaboo Fox 5
Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis, coupled with a shorter wheel-distance makes it more mobile than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two children - an eight-week-old and a toddler - on rough pavements, grassy wooded walks and even cobblestones.
The large puncture-proof wheels - either 22cm or a bit larger they can be used on various terrains. The wheels have a flap that can be closed or opened to let air in when required. It is a little bigger than most pushchairs, but it isn't heavy or bulky when pushing over bumpy surfaces.
The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are easy to clean. It's also much quieter than many pushchairs and I felt comfortable using it in busy city streets. It has integrated accessory points that allow you to attach parasols and footmuffs and also changing bags, snack trays, and even snack trays. You can also use the hood to block rain and wind, but it isn't particularly waterproof. The single pram is able to be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) which allows your child more leg room. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set-up and it took about the same amount of time to convert it into a seat.
UPPAbaby Ridge
If you're taking an early morning run under the stars or taking a moonlit walk in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge turns every moment into a shared experience. This stroller that is all-terrain designed to keep both you and your child engaged.
The massive foam-filled 12" and 16 "tires offer smooth rides regardless of the terrain. The suspension technology is patent-pending, allowing you to glide over woodland paths with minimal impact on your child's legs and rear. The performance disc handbrake allows you to quickly stop even while jogging down the downhill slope.
From bustling farmers markets to street performers playing a tune The Ridge is able to navigate your city's most popular scenes with ease. Its large basket is big enough to hold your market finds and everything else your baby needs and the spacious canopy provides sun and wind protection. 3 wheeled pushchair can be removed to reveal two mesh peekaboos that allow you to monitor your baby.
The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to choose whether your child faces you or the world ahead and its simple foot brake system is intuitive for parents with young children. The reversible handlebar is great feature that lets you adjust it to suit your height. The Ridge's fold, unlike other jogging strollers is reliable and self-standing when folded.
iCandy Core
iCandy’s new pushchair has many features that will impress parents. It has a Multi-Mode Wheelbase and a pioneering LED Visibility Hub Light, which is an industry first. It also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board, which will save you money in the future and makes it easy for a tired toddler to accompany your family on outings.
The Core can be bought as a stand-alone unit or as a complete travel system and it works with most popular car seats from brands like Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Joie. It also comes with the largest seat in the iCandy range, so it will last you through your baby's first years and beyond. It's a luxuriously designed pushchair that is made of premium knitted fabric. The child's removable bumper bar and the parent's adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports are also extremely comfortable for children.
I was awed by the ease of fold and collapse. It only takes one hand, even with the seat unit on. It is also easy to fit into the boot or hallway which makes it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of extra accessories, including an rucksack that matches the colour of your choice and footmuff/liner.
