Fatigue assessed by Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue. Quality of life assessed by Psoriatic Arthritis Quality of Life. Functional capacity assessed by health assessment questionnaire. Disease activity assessed by Disease Activity in Psoriatic Arthritis. Serum IL-17 measured by ELISA.Results There was significant difference in FACIT-F, PsAQOL, and HAQ (p less then 0.001) in different disease activity subgroups. There was statistically significant correlation of disease duration with disease activity, fatigue, reduced function capacity, and quality of life impairment (p≤0.05), while no correlation with the patients' age. There was statistically significant correlation between FACIT-F, PsAQOL, HAQ, and DAPSA scores (p less then 0.001). Serum IL-17 was significantly correlated with clinical parameters of disease activity, fatigue, function, and quality of life impairment (p≤0.05).Conclusion Fatigue is a common clinical symptom in psoriatic arthritis patients. This study, therefore, explores stress among the Arab minority in Israel during the first wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, and its association with the population's perceived COVID-19 threat, trust in the healthcare system, adherence to preventative guidelines, and perceived discrimination.The study analyzed a cross-sectional online survey of 626 Israeli Arabs. Most participants (65%) reported moderate levels of stress, and 10% reported severe levels. The Bedouin population reported significantly higher levels of stress compared to other minority groups. Despite the significant progress in the development of safe and effective antihypertensive drugs, the control of blood pressure (BP) is still not satisfactory. The current antihypertensive drugs reduce the BP by increasing sodium and water excretion (diuretics), by blocking the action of the sympathetic system, by blocking the calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle cells, or by blocking the action of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.

There is a need for the development of new antihypertensive drugs with a different mechanism of action. This new class of drugs are the soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulators and decrease the BP through arterial vasodilation by stimulating the sGC and increasing the production of cyclic-guanosine-monophosphate (cGMP), a potent vasodilator, independently of the endogenous nitric oxide. However, there is limited research on their antihypertensive action. For further knowledge of the antihypertensive effects and safety of these drugs, a focused Medline search of the English language literature was conducted between 2010 and 2020 and 27 studies with pertinent information were selected.

The analysis of data from these demonstrated that these drugs are safe and have beneficial antihypertensive and metabolic effects and they will be useful for hypertensive patients with diabetes and dyslipidemia.Aims to assess occurrence and clinical correlates of neurogenic heterotopic ossifications (NHO) in patients with prolonged disorder of consciousness (DoC).Design multi-center cross-sectional observational study.Setting 23 intensive neurorehabilitation units.Subjects 287 patients with prolonged disorder of consciousness (DoC; 150 in vegetative state, VS, and 128 in minimally conscious state, MCS) of different etiology (vascular = 125, traumatic = 83, anoxic = 56, others = 14).Main Measures clinical evidence of NHO confirmed by standard radiological and/or sonographic evaluation; Coma Recovery Scale-Revised; Disability Rating Scale (DRS); Early Rehabilitation Barthel Index; presence of ventilator support, spasticity, bone fractures and paroxysmal sympathetic hyperactivity.Results 31 patients (11.2%) presented NHO. Univariate analyses showed that NHO was associated with VS diagnosis, traumatic etiology, high DRS category and total score, and high occurrence of limb spasticity and bone fractures. A cluster-corrected binary logistic regression model (excluding spasticity available in a subset of patients) showed that only lower DRS total score and presence of bone fractures were independently associated with NHO.Conclusions NHO are relatively frequent in patients with DoC, and are independently associated with functional disability, bone fractures and spasticity.
