gesting the presence of underlying EGFR genetic mutations.
LADC can be categorized into eight types based on CT imaging. Improving our understanding of the morphological classification and correlation with EGFR mutation status may contribute to the accurate diagnosis of LADC, while suggesting the presence of underlying EGFR genetic mutations.
A positive relationship between flat feet and low back pain (LBP) has not gained consensus in literature. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and factors associated with low back pain (acute and chronic) among individuals with flat feet.
In 2018, a cross-sectional study was conducted at a national festival in Saudi Arabia, and 1798 adult visitors were invited to participate in face-to-face interviews. Participants' characteristics were stratified by the type of foot and they were questioned on acute low back pain (ALBP) or chronic low back pain (CLBP). The odds ratio (OR) were presented as a measure of this association, followed by a multivariate analysis.
The prevalence of LBP among participants with flat feet was 65.9%, among whom 51.6% suffered ALBP and 48.4% suffered from CLBP. Flat feet increased the chances of having ALBP by 3.28 times and CLBP by 4.5 times. After stratification, ALBP and CLBP were both significantly higher among all participants with flat feet in comparison with their counter groups. Multivariate analyses showed that females were more likely to complain of ALBP. Participants who did no physical activity were more likely to complain of ALBP. Female participants and older participants were more likely to complain of ALBP and CLBP.
Flat feet are associated with both ALBP and CLBP. Significant factors of low back pain also included sex, age, occupation, and physical activity.

Glycemic disorders are strong predictors of mortality in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients, and disruption in nitric oxide (NO) production is associated with insulin-resistant states. We evaluated whether a defective allele of the neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) gene (
) might influence insulin response and blood-glucose balance during the acute phase of STEMI and if post-infarction total plasma-NO levels and vasodilation scores varied across nNOS genotypes.
Consecutive patients with STEMI (n=354) underwent clinical evaluations and genotyping for the promoter variation rs41279104. In-hospital clinical and blood evaluations were performed at admission and five days after STEMI, with glycemic, insulinemic, and disposition indices assessed at the same times. Flow-mediated dilation (FMD) was assessed by reactive hyperemia on the 30th day.
Homozygotes for the defective allele (A) showed lower glycemia and insulin sensitivity on day 1 while showing the highest β-cell function and no cciated with poor endothelial function after the acute phase.
To analyze the factors related to distal proximal caries of the mandibular second molar (MSM) induced by an impacted mandibular third molar (MTM).
A total 500 panoramic radiographs of patients with impacted MTMs who were treated in the Department of Stomatology of the Affiliated Hospital of Yanbian University between October 2017 and October 2019 were selected. Descriptive and bivariate analyses were conducted, and the diagnosis of caries in the MSM and the position of the MTM were evaluated.
The posterior margin space of the MSM was larger in males (13.5 mm) than females (11.1 mm,
< 0.001) and correlated with the MTM's impacted depth and eruption degree (
< 0.001). The prevalence of distal proximal caries of the MSM was 37.6%, and a
test showed that age, impacted depth, impacted direction, impacted angle, degree of occurrence, and CEJ distance were correlated with caries in the distal adjacent surface of the MSM (
< 0.001). Logistic multivariate analysis showed that the impacted depth was at position A or B, the impacted direction was mesioangular, and the impacted angle was <80°. Distal adjacent caries of MSMs were prone to occur when entirely or partially emergent. CEJ distance was not an independent factor for caries. The severity of caries in an MSM's distal adjacent surface had statistical significance on the impacted depth and impacted angle (
< 0.001).
The posterior margin space of the MSM influences the impacted condition of the MTM. H2DCFDA datasheet Preventive extraction can be considered if the impacted angle is <80°, especially in the case of a fully or partially emergent MTM at position A or B and mesioangular impacted areas.

Abnormal expression of phosphofructokinase platelet (PFKP) has been reported in various cancer types. However, the role of PFKP in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains unclear.
In this study, the PFKP expression levels in various cancers were systemically described by integrating multiple kinds of publicly available databases. The relationship between PFKP expression and clinical prognosis of ccRCC patients was analyzed based on the TCGA database. Furthermore, PFKP-related genes and the top 10 hub genes were identified. The enrichment analysis, PPI network, and the relationship between PFKP and tumor-infiltrating immune cells were conducted to explore why PFKP was associated with clinical outcomes in ccRCC patients.
PFKP was significantly highly expressed in kidney cancer, especially in ccRCC. Moreover, patients with low expression of PFKP were correlated with poor 5-year and 10-year overall survival (OS) (
< 0.05). Low PFKP expression was a risk factor associated with decreased OS in subgroups including males, females, grade 3-4, and stage III-IV (all
< 0.05). GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that 10 hub genes were mainly enriched in the tumor immune response. Finally, PFKP expression level was highly correlated with the infiltration of B cell, CD8
T cell, CD4
T cell, macrophage, neutrophil, and dendritic cell.
In short, our findings suggested that PFKP is highly expressed in ccRCC significantly and facilitated tumor immune response which in turn associated with a good prognosis.

Uric acid is an independent factor for arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Although aspirin is one of the most widely used agent in patients with ASCVD, there were only a few studies focusing on the effects of low-dose aspirin on uric acid metabolism with controversial results. The present study aimed to investigate an association between low-dose aspirin treatment for more than one month and serum uric acid (SUA) with its urinary excretion in elderly patients.
This paper presents an observational retrospective cross-sectional study to determine the association between continuous daily taking low-dose aspirin (50-100mg) for more than one month and SUA with fraction excretion of uric acid (FEUA) in elderly patients. A total of 506 inpatients equal or over 60 in Department of Geriatrics of Peking University First Hospital were enrolled from 2017 to 2020. About 41.9% of them were taking aspirin for more than one month, while others were not taking this medicine. The correlation between aspirin use and SUA or FEUA was analyzed, and group-comparison was performed in different dosage groups of aspirin.
After correcting confounding factors, there is no remarkable correlation between taking low-dose aspirin and SUA or FEUA, but a decreasing trend (coefficients=-4.946) of SUA in hyperuricemia patients with low-dose aspirin was observed despite no obvious difference (P=0.534). Whether SUA or FEUA has no significant difference between 50mg/d and 100mg/d aspirin subjects.
SUA and urinary uric acid excretion are not associated with using of 50-100mg/d aspirin for more than one month in elderly patients with ASCVD or at risk.

High body mass index (BMI) is a well-recognized risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. But its role in peripheral artery disease (PAD) remains perplexing. Our study aims to evaluate the association of BMI with PAD in the Chinese hypertensive population.
This is a cross-sectional study with enrollment data from the Chinese H-type Hypertension Registry.10896 hypertensive patients aged ≥18 years were included in the final analysis.
The prevalence of PAD diagnosed by ABI in this study was 3.2% (n=351). A U-shaped association between BMI and PAD was found. Per SD increment (3.6 kg/m
) on the left side of the BMI threshold (BMI < 25.7 kg/m
) was associated with a 27% decrease in the adjusted risk of PAD [OR, 0.73; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.60, 0.89; P=0.002]; BMI was significantly positively associated with the risk of PAD (OR, 1.52; 95% CI 1.52, 1.93; P=0.001) in those with BMI ≥25.7 kg/m
.
In summary, a U-shaped association between BMI and the risk of PAD in the Chinese hypertensive population was found. BMI with the lowest risk of PAD was estimated to be 25.7 kg/m

The present study aims to investigate micro ribonucleic acid-365 (miR-365) serum expression and its correlation with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with hypertension (HT).
Eighty-four patients were selected as study subjects and divided into three groups the experimental group (n = 28), the observation group (n = 29), and the control group (n = 27). The experimental group included patients with LVH-accompanied HT who were treated in the People's Hospital of Hebei Province between November 2019 and November 2020, the observation group included patients with HT unaccompanied by LVH, and the control group included healthy age and gender-matched subjects who underwent health examinations in our physical examination center. The cardiac echocardiography, 24-h Holter electrocardiogram, and circulating miR-365 levels in all subjects were measured. The differences in circulating miR-365 expression levels among the three groups were compared, and the correlations between the miR-365 expression leveleased with the LVMI value.
The miR-365 serum expression in patients with LVH-accompanied HT was increased compared with the observation group and the control group and positively correlated with the LVH degree.

Complement component 5a (C5a) is a highly potent anaphylatoxin with a variety of pro-inflammatory effects. C5a contributes to progression of atherosclerosis and inhibition of the receptor (C5aR) might offer a therapeutic strategy in this regard. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the C5 gene may modify protein expression levels and therefore function of C5a and C5aR. This study aimed to examine associations between clinically relevant C5a SNPs and the prognosis of patients with symptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD). Furthermore, we sought to investigate the influence of C5 SNPs on C5aR platelet surface expression and circulating C5a levels.
C5 variants (rs25681, rs17611, rs17216529, rs12237774, rs41258306, and rs10985126) were analyzed in a consecutive cohort of 833 patients suffering from symptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD). Circulating C5a levels were determined in 116 patients whereas C5aR platelet surface expression was measured in 473 CAD patients. Endpoints included all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction (MI), and ischemic stroke (IS).
