The abnormal expression of AP3D1, DCAF10, FBXO16, LRFN4, PTPN2, SAYSD1 and ZNF426 is highly related to the progression of ovarian cancer. These seven genes can be used as independent prognostic markers of ovarian cancer. This study not only adds evidence to the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer but also provides scientific basis for judging the prognosis of ovarian cancer.
A series of studies showed that endocardial radiofrequency ablation (ERFA) could reduce the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) gradient in patients with septal hypertrophy. This study aimed to determine the safety and efficacy of a modified ERFA approach guided by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) as an alternative to ablation performed under a three-dimensional (3D) electroanatomical system or intracardiac echocardiography (ICE).

Twenty-five patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) underwent ERFA of septal hypertrophy, guided by echocardiography. The LVOT gradient, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), LV thickness, New York Heart Association (NYHA) class, and biochemical laboratory values were recorded before ablation and during follow-up.

The patients' peak and stress-induced LVOT gradients were significantly reduced after 12 months of follow-up (resting gradient from 123.2±17.7 to 15.7±7.8 mmHg, P<0.05; provocative gradient from 140.2±20.8 to 18.4±8.0 mmHg, P<0.0tion for HOCM which can achieve symptomatic improvement as well as a significant and sustained reduction of the LVOT gradient. Moreover, by avoiding the use of the 3D electroanatomical system or ICE, this treatment has an acceptable cost.
LncRNA-TCONS_00034812 is a critical player in the proliferation of aortic smooth muscle cells. It is known that artery injury plays an important role in atherosclerosis. However, the potential implication of LncRNA-TCONS_00034812 in atherosclerosis remains unclear. In this study, we collected artery specimens from patients with atherosclerosis and healthy controls to investigate the involvement of LncRNA-TCONS_00034812 in atherosclerosis.

Sixty patients with atherosclerosis and 60 controls, admitted at The First Hospital of Changsha (Changsha, China), between March 2017 and March 2019, were included. An artery biopsy was performed on all participants to obtain the artery specimens. Real-time quantitative PCR were performed to quantify the relative expression level of LncRNA-TCONS_00034812. Its role in atherosclerotic lesion was evaluated in (high fat diet) HFD-induced ApoE
mice. learn more Moreover, human aortic smooth muscle cells (HAOSMCs) was employed to study functional role of LncRNA-TCONS_00034812 overexprestion in human aortic smooth muscle cells (HAOSMCs). Our study indicates that LncRNA-TCONS_00034812 could serve as a potential biomarker for diagnosis of atherosclerosis.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide. Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) on the prevention, surveillance, diagnosis and management of HCC are essential to guide clinical practice. The objective of this study was to evaluate the reporting quality of the most recent CPGs for HCC published worldwide.

We systematically searched literature databases and websites of guideline development organizations and medical associations to extract CPGs on HCC published between January 2018 and December 2020. We evaluated the reporting quality using the Reporting Items for practice Guidelines in Healthcare (RIGHT) statement. We assessed for each of the 35 RIGHT checklist items whether the guidelines reported the corresponding information. We calculated the mean (± standard error of the mean, SEM) percentages of the guidelines' compliance with the items (reporting rate), both overall and for each of the seven domains of the RIGHT checklist.

We identified 22 guidelines, of which three (14%) were written in Chinese and 19 (86%) in English. The mean ±SEM overall reporting rate in the twenty-two guidelines was 56%±4%. The reporting rates of the seven domains were the following basic information 81%±3%, background 58%±6%, evidence 58%±6%, recommendations 59%±5%, review and quality assurance 34%±10%, funding and declaration and management of interests 39%±4%, and other information 23%±6%.

The reporting quality of the recently published guidelines for HCC was suboptimal. While there is no doubt about the great value of the CPGs' recommendations in clinical practice, the reporting in CPGs for HCC still needs improvement.

Gastric cancer is the fifth most common type of cancer globally. We aimed to evaluate the reporting quality of clinical practice guidelines in the field of gastric cancer.

We searched Medline (via PubMed), China Biology Medicine, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and WanFang databases and the websites of the main guideline development organizations from 2018 to 2020 for guidelines on gastric cancer. Data were extracted and the reporting quality evaluated by two researchers independently using the Reporting Items for Practice Guidelines in Healthcare (RIGHT) checklist. We assessed the compliance of the guidelines to each of the 35 items of RIGHT and summarized the reporting proportions of the seven domains of RIGHT.

Eighteen guidelines were included. The mean proportion of appropriately reported RIGHT items was 52.4%. Among the seven domains of the RIGHT checklist, Basic information had the highest reporting rate (78.7%), and Review and quality assurance domain the lowest rate (16.7%). The domains Evidence (40.0%), Funding and declaration and management of interests (43.1%), and Other information (31.5%) had also reporting rates below 50%. Two RIGHT items (17 and 19b) were not reported by any of the guidelines.

The reporting quality of gastric cancer guidelines published in the years 2018-2020 was suboptimal, especially regarding the reporting of review, quality assurance and evidence. Guideline developers should pay attention on rigorous reporting following international standard to improve the quality of guidelines.

The reporting quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for gliomas has not yet been thoroughly assessed. The International Reporting Items for Practice Guidelines in Healthcare (RIGHT) statement developed in 2016 provides a reporting framework to improve the quality of CPGs. We aimed to estimate the reporting quality of glioma guidelines using the RIGHT checklist and investigate how the reporting quality differs by selected characteristics.

We systematically searched electronic databases, guideline databases, and medical society websites to retrieve CPGs on glioma published between 2018 and 2020. We calculated the compliance of the CPGs to individual items, domains and the RIGHT checklist overall. We performed stratified analyses by publication year, country of development, reporting of funding, and impact factor (IF) of the journal.

Our search revealed 20 eligible guidelines. Mean overall adherence to the RIGHT statement was 54.6%. Eight CPGs reported more than 60% of the items, and five reported the RIGHT criteria should be encouraged to guide the development, reporting and evaluation of CPGs.
Apatinib is a new generation of small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor, which can highly selectively inhibit phosphorylation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2). This study aimed to investigate the synergistic effects of apatinib and paclitaxel (PTX) on triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)
and
, and to explore the molecular mechanism of the PI3K/p65/Bcl-xl pathway.

In vitro, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-Yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) method, flow cytometry (FCM), wound healing assay, and transwell matrix assay were conducted to measure the effects of apatinib and PTX on cell viability, apoptosis, migration, and invasion in TNBC cell line MDA-MB-468. Western blot (WB) was conducted to detect protein expression levels of PI3K, p65, and Bcl-xl after the application of apatinib and PTX. In vivo, MDA-MB-468 tumor-bearing nude mice were treated with apatinib and PTX, and tumor growth was observed.

In vitro, apatinib and PTX could synergistically suppress the cell viability, the combined group had the most obvious effect. Apatinib and PTX could promote apoptosis and suppress migration and invasion of TNBC cells. Apatinib could reduce the expression of p-PI3K, p65, and Bcl-xl proteins (P<0.05). In vivo, apatinib and PTX could inhibit tumor size and weight of model mice, and the combined agents had a more significant effect.

Apatinib could enhance the anti-tumor effect of PTX on TNBC cells through the PI3K/p65/Bcl-xl molecular pathway, and apatinib combined with PTX might be a promising option for TNBC treatment.

When a reverse sural neurofasciocutaneous flap is used to reconstruct a forefoot defect, usually, the transverse length of the flap is increased or the pivot point is lowered to ensure the reconstruction range. Therefore, proximal partial necrosis leading to surgery failure is sometimes caused by insufficient arterial supply if the flap is too long or the pivot point is too low and has no a reliable perforator in the pedicle. Herein, we describe a new method for extending the reconstruction range of the reverse sural neurofasciocutaneous flap that can provide a higher survival rate.

Between July 2010 and July 2014, 24 patients with forefoot defect were randomly assigned into two groups. In the research group, 12 modified reverse sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps with extended reconstruction range were used to reconstruct forefoot defect. We dissected the septum along the last perforator to locate the main trunk of the peroneal artery, disconnected the proximal end of the peroneal artery at the root of the ery pedicle.

Neuroinflammation involving the central nervous system (CNS), such as depression, is associated with a significantly increased risk of cancer and cancer-specific mortality due to breast cancer. It is of great significance to learn about the regulatory process of CNS in breast cancer progression.

We established a depressive MMTV-PyVT mouse model. The expression levels of neurotransmitters in the serum of depression animal models were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Changes of the microglia cells in the mice's brains were evaluated by immunofluorescence and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Breast cancer progression was assessed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis. To further investigate the mechanism by which ant-depressant drugs disrupt breast cancer progression, protein sequencing and network pharmacology were applied to identify related targets. Furthermore, we used conditioned medium from BV-2 microglia to culture breast cancer cells and treated the cells with quercetin at different concentrations; cell viability was assessed by the MTT assay.
