In Brazil, there is a considerable number of deaf people, sign language users, who should have access to equal opportunities. However, sign language is unknown by the most Brazilian population, especially those who work in public institutions, and deny the deaf their rights to equality. Therefore, several professionals, among them, the municipal guards, are not prepared for the diversity.
to investigate the knowledge of the Municipal Guards (MG) from Curitiba about the deaf, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras),and their service practices when they need to interact with deaf citizens.
It´s a mixed crosscut study; data were collected by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire answered by 50 municipal guards, with questions on their knowledge about the deaf, the sign language and the service practices conducted by their corporation towards deaf people. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively by means of Bardin's Content Analysis.
The results demonstrate that participants have a limited knowledge of deafness and Libras.
Most members of the Municipal Guard have a view of deaf people and the Brazilian Sign Language based on an organic perspective of deafness, and it was also observed that during their service practices towards deaf people, many of them could not either interact or communicate with them.

To evaluate the ability that in tune and out of tune individuals have to identify normal and deviated voice qualities and to compare it with their performance in auditory processing tests and perceptual judgment.
The study investigated 15 in tune and 15 out of tune individuals. Participants were matched for age and sex, were amateur choir singers, had normal hearing thresholds and normal vocal quality. All individuals underwent Pitch-matching scanning to be classified as in or out of tune. Next, they performed the Pitch Pattern Sequence (PPS) and the Duration Pattern Sequence (DPS) tests and the perceptual judgment of 36 voices plus 20% of repetition for reliability analysis.
The out of tune individuals had worse performance in the PPS and DPS for both ears (p=0.002 RE; p=0.001 LE; p=0.009 DPS); no difference was observed in the perceptual judgment and the reliability (p=0.153). Selleck Oxaliplatin However, participants with normal PPS and DPS had better performance in the perceptual judgment and better reliability (p=0.033). Thus, individuals with disorders in temporal auditory processing skills have greater difficulty in the perceptual judgment and have lower intra-rater reliability, despite being in or out of tune.
It can be observed that voice tone is not required to guarantee good perceptual judgment. However, temporal patterns and intra-rater reliability are essential to perceptually assess normal and altered voice qualities. Therefore, auditory training should be included in programs that aim to develop voice perceptual judgment abilities.

Co-epidemics of COVID-19 and dengue could be an overwhelming challenge for health systems in low- and middle-income countries. In this work, we investigated potential serological cross-reactions between COVID-19 and dengue patients. Among 32 COVID-19 positive sera, no positive Dengue virus (DENV) IgG/IgM results were observed. On the other hand, one false-positive result was observed among 44 DENV-positive sera tested for COVID-19 antibodies with each of the two rapid tests used. Further data on accuracy of COVID-19 diagnostic test are urgently warranted.
Identify workflow factors in the operating room and their implications, which influence nurses' decision making.
Integrative review of the literature conducted through searches in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences; Nursing Database; Pubmed; Scopus and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature. The results were organized into factors related to positive, negative and positive and negative implications.
The sample of 18 articles included examples of factors with positive implications, such as preoperative data collection, negative outcomes, such as lack of human, material and structural resources, and positive and negative outcomes, as preparation for certification.
Factors that influence the decision-making process of nurses are associated to different conditions client- related conditions and those conditions that go beyond the domain and organization of the surgical environment.

To identify social and environmental determinants of health in the perception of community health agents, and to develop a health education process to contribute to the improvement of health promotion.
A qualitative action research based on Freire's Research Itinerary (Culture Circles), using talking maps and integrated panels, with 29 community health agents of the Paraisópolis II Basic Health Unit, in the community of Paraisópolis, Sao Paulo. The analysis of the results was carried out by the Method of Triangulation.
Sanitation, housing, behaviors, health services, and other social facilities were identified, which, along with the representation of blaming, were codified and decoded by the integration of technical and traditional knowledge.
Knowledge, values and abilities related to social and environmental determinants and their applicability in the Family Health Strategy, as well as the importance of community strengthening for health promotion and for coping with health vulnerabilities and inequities, were critically unveiled.
