The new Corona-virus, recently called the severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) appears for the first time in China and more precisely in Wuhan (December 2019). This disease can be fatal. Seniors, and people with other medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease…), may be more vulnerable and become seriously ill. This is why research into drugs to treat this infection remains essential in several research laboratories. Natural herbal remedies have long been the main, if not the only, remedy in the oral tradition for treating illnesses. Modern medicine has known its success thanks to traditional medicine, the effectiveness of which derives from medicinal plants. The objective of this study is to determine if the components of natural origin have an anti-viral effect and which can prevent humans from infection by this coronavirus using the most reliable method is molecular docking, which used to find the interaction between studied molecules and the protein, in our case we based on the inhibitor of Coronavirus (nCoV-2019) main protease. The results of molecular docking showed that among 67 molecules of natural origin, three molecules (Crocin, Digitoxigenin, and β-Eudesmol) are proposed as inhibitors against the coronavirus based on the energy types of interaction between these molecules and studied protein. One track includes preparing their organizations for the next "novel" virus. After all, organizations do not hire leaders to maintain the status quo; they are hired to drive the future. As much as death and taxes are inevitable, it is equally predictable that all organizations will sooner or later confront a black swan event. History teaches us that while the order of magnitude may vary, management crises are not entirely novel. This article explores a series of early risk mitigation strategies to prevent the next COVID-19 and prepare leadership to face this inevitable challenge.It is important to increase the number of people regularly physically active to enhance health. Physical activity (PA) promotion organizations with strong brands may be more effective at motivating PA. However, these organizations must know which brand equity variables (e.g., brand awareness) to prioritize in their marketing. No previous review has examined whether brand equity variables are associated with PA-related variables. The primary objective of this study was to learn whether brand equity variables are associated with PA behaviors (e.g., moderate or vigorous PA). A secondary objective was to evaluate whether brand equity variables are associated with potential correlates of PA (e.g., self-efficacy). In addition to other search methods, four databases were searched for articles (PsycINFO, MEDLINE, SPORTDiscus, Business Source Complete). Thirty articles met the eligibility criteria. Regarding behavior, brand awareness and associations were associated with moderate or vigorous PA but not less intense activities such as walking. For correlates, brand awareness was associated with self-efficacy, outcome expectations, attitude, and parental approval of child PA. Brand associations were only associated with attitude. Age and brand awareness measure emerged as moderators of the awareness to moderate or vigorous PA relationship. Future research should examine the antecedents of brand awareness and use experimental designs.The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that oral contraceptives (OC) should be available over the counter (OTC). This study explored women's attitudes toward OC OTC in rural South Carolina. In-depth, individual interviews were conducted with 52 women ages 18-44 years old. Data analysis was informed by a reproductive justice theoretical framework and included an inductive, constant-comparative approach using HyperRESEARCH 3.7.5. Participants self-identified as either Black (62%) or White (28%). Participants believed that OC OTC would prevent unintended pregnancy by improving anonymity, convenience, and access to contraception. Many participants faced barriers to receiving a prescription, including time, transportation, cost, stigma, embarrassment, and clinician refusal based on religious reasons. Participants believed OC OTC would improve women's control over their fertility and emphasized the importance of health insurance coverage for OC OTC. Some participants expressed concerns about the risk of side effects, contraindications, and the potential for abuse. Some participants believed women, especially adolescents, required physician guidance and an annual exam to use OC. Findings suggest that a lack of knowledge and misinformation about the risks of OC serve as a barrier among some women in rural areas. Widespread acceptance of OC OTC will require messaging strategies to dispel safety concerns about OC OTC and empower women.Objectives Phone cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) increases the rate of bystander CPR to patients suffering from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). This study analyzed the effectiveness of the ALERT protocol for instructing laypeople in bystander CPR.Methods All 244 phone CPR calls to the emergency medical communication center in Leuven during a one-year period were analyzed. Time to recognition of OHCA and to start of phone CPR was evaluated and compared to the recommendations set up by the American Heart Association (AHA). Barriers that delayed or prevented phone CPR were identified.Results Time to recognition of OHCA and to start of chest compressions was below the benchmark set by the AHA in 37% and 32% of the calls, respectively. The most common barriers that delayed the start of phone CPR were irrelevant questioning by the dispatcher and difficulties moving the patient.In 52 calls, phone CPR was not initiated. In 54% of these calls, this was due to the bystander's inability to move the patient to the floor or to perform CPR. In 44% the bystander's lack of motivation hindered the start of CPR.Conclusions The ALERT protocol plays a key role in bystander-CPR. Despite the increased CPR rates and reduced time to start chest compressions since its implementation, further improvement is required. Based on the barriers detected, intensive training of dispatchers is an important next step. Furthermore, adding an alternative track to the protocol for immovable patients might be worth considering.Objective Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is an increasing health problem worldwide. The aim was to evaluate long-term mandibular advancement device (MAD) therapy outcomes in community dental care among OSA patients in Finland.Methods In all, 142 (77.2%) respondents of a questionnaire, with recently initiated treatment, were included in the study in 2010. Follow-up questionnaires were mailed in 2012 and 2017.Results Problems occurred with the device long-term. Orofacial pain was reported more often in 2012 than in 2010 (p less then 0.01). Snoring (p less then 0.01) and tiredness (p less then 0.05) were also significantly increased. In 2017, 50 subjects were still continuing with MAD, 20 of them as a single treatment modality. Treatment modalities in combination with MAD were CPAP, nutrition counseling, and position treatment.Discussion Long-term MAD treatment may lead to a changing treatment-mix and set-backs. This may not only be a treatment adherence issue but also a lack of precision medicine approach regarding OSA.The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS CoV), also termed camel flu, is a new viral infection that first reported in the year 2012 in the Middle East region and further spread during the last seven years. MERS CoV is characterized by its high mortality rate among different human coronaviruses. MERS CoV polymerase shares more than 20% sequence identity with the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Non-structural 5b (NS5b) RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). Despite the low sequence identity, the active site is conserved between the two proteins, with two consecutive aspartates that are crucial in the nucleotide transfer reaction. In this study, seven nucleotide inhibitors have been tested against MERS CoV RdRp using molecular modeling and docking simulations, from which four are novel compounds. Molecular Dynamics Simulation for 260 nanoseconds is performed on the MERS CoV RdRp model to test the effect of protein dynamics on the binding affinities to the tested nucleotide inhibitors. Results support the hypothesis of using the anti-polymerases (Anti-HCV drugs) against MERS CoV RdRp as a potent candidates. Besides four novel compounds are suggested as a seed for high performance inhibitors against MERS CoV RdRp.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.The previous outbreaks of SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV have led researchers to study the role of diagnostics in impediment of further spread and transmission. With the recent emergence of the novel SARS-CoV-2, the availability of rapid, sensitive, and reliable diagnostic methods is essential for disease control. Hence, we have developed a reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay for the specific detection of SARS-CoV-2. The primer sets for RT-LAMP assay were designed to target the nucleocapsid gene of the viral RNA, and displayed a detection limit of 102 RNA copies close to that of qRT-PCR. Notably, the assay has exhibited a rapid detection span of 30 min combined with the colorimetric visualization. This test can detect specifically viral RNAs of the SARS-CoV-2 with no cross-reactivity to related coronaviruses, such as HCoV-229E, HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, and MERS-CoV as well as human infectious influenza viruses (type B, H1N1pdm, H3N2, H5N1, H5N6, H5N8, and H7N9), and other respiratory disease-causing viruses (RSVA, RSVB, ADV, PIV, MPV, and HRV). Furthermore, the developed RT-LAMP assay has been evaluated using specimens collected from COVID-19 patients that exhibited high agreement to the qRT-PCR. Our RT-LAMP assay is simple to perform, less expensive, time-efficient, and can be used in clinical laboratories for preliminary detection of SARS-CoV-2 in suspected patients. In addition to the high sensitivity and specificity, this isothermal amplification conjugated with a single-tube colorimetric detection method may contribute to the public health responses and disease control, especially in the areas with limited laboratory capacities.Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate the association between ergonomic risk level and the scapular dyskinesis in the office workers.Materials and Methods This cross-sectional study included office workers aged 20-65 years. A lateral scapular slide test (LSST) was used to evaluate scapular dyskinesis, and Quick Exposure Check (QEC) method was used to analyze ergonomic risk level.Results In all, 37 (45.7%) participants were men and 44 (54.3%) participants were women. AT7867 cell line Of the participants with scapular dyskinesis in any of the three LSST positions 10.3% had low, 20.6% had medium, 30.9% had high, and 37.9% had very high ergonomic risk level (p = 0.001). A low, positive linear correlation was observed between ergonomic risk level and LSST-1, LSST-2, and LSST-3 values.Conclusion These results indicate that patients with scapular dyskinesis have a high ergonomic risk level. We believe that our work will serve as a foundation for intervention studies assessing ergonomic risk management.
