its and reduced workload of staff) of falls prevention in nursing homes and can provide guidance to the management in structural implementation of multifactorial falls prevention. The credibility of evidence of various environmental risk factors for alcohol and tobacco use disorders (AUD/TUD) needs to be graded to identify groups to target with selective prevention. A systematic umbrella review was conducted (PubMed/PsycINFO), grading credibility of meta-analyses of prospective/retrospective observational cohort studies assessing risk/protective factors for AUD/TUD, applying established quantitative criteria. Sensitivity analyses were conducted. Quality of eligible meta-analyses was assessed with AMSTAR-2. Out of 8464 unique references, 80 full text articles were scrutinized, and 12 meta-analyses, corresponding to 21 individual estimates of 12 putative risk/protective factors (n = 241,300), were included. In main analyses no association had convincing nor highly suggestive evidence for AUD/TUD. Six associations had suggestive evidence for AUD, two for TUD. Among these, in sensitivity analyses without >1000 cases criterion, convincing evidence emerged for parental alcohol supply, and impulsivity traits in college students for AUD, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder for TUD. Other associations were supported by weak evidence/were not nominally significant. Few risk factors identified at-risk groups where selective preventative strategies could be developed to prevent AUD/TUD.Sex is a fundamental biological characteristic that influences many aspects of an organism's phenotype, including neurobiological functions and behavior as a result of species-specific evolutionary pressures. Sex differences have strong implications for vulnerability to disease and susceptibility to environmental perturbations. Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have the potential to interfere with sex hormones functioning and influence development in a sex specific manner. Here we present an updated descriptive review of findings from animal models and human studies regarding the current evidence for altered sex-differences in behavioral development in response to early exposure to EDCs, with a focus on bisphenol A and phthalates. Overall, we show that animal and human studies have a good degree of consistency and that there is strong evidence demonstrating that EDCs exposure during critical periods of development affect sex differences in emotional and cognitive behaviors. Results are more heterogeneous when social, sexual and parental behaviors are considered. In order to pinpoint sex differences in environmentally-driven disease vulnerabilities, researchers need to consider sex-biased developmental effects of EDCs.The neurokinin-1 receptor plays a profound role in inflammatory processes and is involved in immune cell differentiation, cytokine release, and mast cell activation. Due to their similar peptide structures, the neurokinin-1 receptor does not discriminate between the endogenous ligands substance P (SP) and human hemokinin-1 (hHK-1), which both demonstrate biological receptor affinity. In addition, due to cross-reactivity, the current bioanalytical method of choice-immunoassays-also displays limitations in differentiating between these peptides. Thus, a recently developed mass spectrometric assay was utilized for the selective quantification of SP and hHK-1 in various biofluids and tissue. By applying the sample processing protocols developed, SP was quantified in porcine brain tissue (4.49 ± 0.53 nM), human saliva (113.3 ± 67.0 pM), and human seminal fluid (0.52 ± 0.15 nM) by mass spectrometric analysis. As previously reported, neither SP nor hHK-1 could be detected in human plasma by mass spectrometry. Comparison with analysis using a commercial immunoassay of the same plasma sample revealed SP like-immunoreactivity concentrations of 37.1-178.0 pM. The previously reported carboxylic acid of SP, whose identity was confirmed by high-resolution mass spectrometric analysis, did not show cross-reactivity in the applied immunoassay and did not contribute to SP-like immunoreactivity results. Subsequent compound discovery of the immunocaptured substance indicated the presence of a precursor of SP as possible cross-reactor in human plasma samples. The found cross-reactivity might be the cause for the high variance of SP plasma levels in former determinations. The present work describes the first synthesis of novel asymmetric zinc (II) phthalocyanine (ZnPc) including three boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) and one ethyloxy azido moieties. Moreover, single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) surface was functionalized by this ZnPc containing BODIPY; using the azide-alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition (Click) reaction to obtain SWCNT-ZnPc hybrid material. Structural, thermal and morphological characterizations of both ZnPc and SWCNT-ZnPc hybrid were carried out in-depth by spectroscopic, thermal and microscopic techniques. In this study, the synthesized SWCNT-ZnPc material was decorated on composite glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by means of an easy and a practical drop cast method. The modified electrode was tested as a non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor in various common pesticides such as methyl parathion, deltamethrin, chlorpyrifos and spinosad. Electrochemical behavior of non-enzymatic electrode (GCE/SWCNT-ZnPc) was determined via cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The non-enzymatic sensor demonstrated high selectivity for methyl parathion in a wide linear range (2.45 nM-4.0 × 10-8 M), low limit of detection value (1.49 nM) and high sensitivity (0.1847 μA nM-1). Also, the developing non-enzymatic sensor exhibited good repeatability (RSD = 2.3% for 10 electrodes) and stability (85.30% for 30 days). Validation guidelines by HPLC and statistical analysis showed that the proposed voltammetric method were precise, accurate, sensitive, and can be used for the routine quality control of methyl parathion determination in juice samples.Selenium (Se)-enriched tea is attracting increasing interests due to its significantly improved health benefits. This study was to investigate the anti-proliferative effects of Se-enriched oolong tea against human hepatoma HuH-7 cells. Compared with regular oolong tea extract (TE, 0.04 μg selenium/g), Se-enriched oolong tea extract (Se-TE, 0.51 μg selenium/g) exhibited more prominent anti-proliferative effect against HuH-7 cells with an IC50 of 203.1 μg/mL, mainly due to the synergistic effects of organic selenium and tea polyphenols. Our results found that Se-TE increased intracellular ROS production, arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase, and thus induced cell apoptosis. In addition, western blotting assay revealed the increased expressions of the p53, Bax, caspase 3, and a reduction of Bcl-2 and CDK2, resulting in Se-TE-induced apoptosis. The improved anti-proliferative effect makes Se-enriched oolong tea extract a promising health-promoting ingredient in food industry. We consider a game theoretical model of kleptoparasitic interaction between two individuals, the Owner and the Intruder. The Owner is in possession of a resource and must decide whether to defend the resource against the Intruder or flee. If the Owner defends, the Intruder must decide whether to fight with the Owner or flee. The outcome of the fight depends on the hunger of the individuals, the hungrier the individual is, the more likely they are to win the fight. We consider three scenarios (a) both individuals know their own and their opponent's hunger, (b) individuals only know their own hunger but not that of their opponent, and (c) individuals do not know their own nor the opponent's hunger levels. We determine Nash equilibrium strategies in each scenario. We conclude that Owner is generally willing to defend more often than the Intruder is willing to attack. Also, the Intruder's payoff is largest in the full information case; but the Owner may benefit in the no information or partial information cases when the cost of the fight is neither too large nor too small.
To evaluate how variations in peri-operative urine culture (UCx) and antibiotic prophylaxis utilization following robot assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty (RALP) affect post-RALP urinary tract infection (UTI) rates in children, then use data to generate a standardized care pathway.

Patients undergoing RALP at a single institution from January 2014 to October 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients with vesicoureteral reflux, neurogenic bladder, intermittent catheterization, <=2 months follow-up after stent removal, or age >=18 years were excluded. UCx use, UCx results, and pre- and post-RALP antibiotic use were recorded. The primary outcome was symptomatic UTI, tracked until 60 days after stent removal. UTI was defined as presence of fever or urinary symptoms, a positive UCx with >=10,000 colony forming units of one uropathogen, and a positive urinalysis.

A total of 152 patients were included (72% male [73% circumcised], 61% white, and 23% Hispanic). One underwent a re-operative pyeloplastytion of UA/UCx and antibiotics.
To assess the accuracy of clinical diagnoses and the true incidence of lichen sclerosus (LS) in patients with phimosis.

The 92 adult male patients who were qualified for circumcision due to phimosis, were included in the study. The patients were diagnosed clinically by a urologist and dermatologist before the surgical procedure. Ebselen After the circumcision, the resected foreskins were examined by 2 independent uropathologists.

Preoperative clinical diagnosis of LS was established in 54 patients (58.7%); healthy-looking skin in 26 (28.3%) and other penile diseases in 12 (13.1%) patients. After histopathological examination, the diagnosis of LS was established in 62 patients (67.4%), but only in 44 patients with previous LS clinical diagnosis. LS was histopathologically confirmed in 18 other patients with clinically diagnosed healthy skin (n=17) or lichen planus (n=1). Healthy skin was histopathologically confirmed in 10 cases in patients diagnosed clinically before as LS. Other 15 histopathological diagnoses were Zoon balanitis (n=3), nonspecific balanitis (n=5), lichen planus (n=1), psoriasis (n=1), invasive penile cancer (n=3), Bowen's disease (n=1), penile intraepithelial neoplasia 2 usual type (n=1).

LS has been revealed as the most common histopathological diagnosis in patients undergoing circumcision in our study. Histopathological examination seems to be necessary to exclude this disease.

To prospectively investigate the natural history of asymptomatic pseudoaneurysm after robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy.

Robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy was undertaken for 67 patients between July 2014 and July 2018. Patients who could not undergo enhanced CT were excluded, so 60 patients were finally included in the present study. We prospectively investigated the presence of pseudoaneurysm based on early enhanced CT scan on postoperative day 7. According to our treatment policy, patients with symptomatic pseudoaneurysm underwent selective transarterial embolization. Meanwhile, patients with asymptomatic pseudoaneurysm were observed with follow-up CT imaging, regardless of the size of the aneurysm.

Overall incidence of pseudoaneurysm on postoperative day 7 was 18% (11/60 cases). The median size of the pseudoaneurysm was 9 mm (quartile 6-12 mm). Two patients with symptomatic pseudoaneurysm underwent selective transarterial embolization. Nine patients had asymptomatic pseudoaneurysm; in 8 of these it disappeared without therapeutic intervention.
