We present a review of peer-reviewed English-language studies conducted outside the United States and Canada on the prevalence of sexual assault victimization in adolescence and adulthood published since 2010.

A systematic literature search yielded 32 articles reporting on 45 studies from 29 countries. Studies that only provided prevalence estimates for sexual assault in intimate relationships or did not present separate rates for men and women were excluded. All studies were coded by two coders, and a risk of bias score was calculated for each study. Both past-year and prevalence rates covering longer periods were extracted.

The largest number of studies came from Europe (
=21), followed by Africa (
=11), Asia and Latin America (
=6 each). One study came from the Middle East and no studies were found from Oceania. Across the 22 studies that reported past-year prevalence rates, figures ranged from 0% to 59.2% for women, 0.3% to 55.5% for men, and 1.5% to 18.2% for LGBT samples. The average risk of bias score was 5.7 out of 10. Studies varied widely in methodology.

It most commonly affects the upper and lower respiratory tract and kidneys. However, other organs including the gastrointestinal tract can be affected. Gastrointestinal manifestations of GPA are rare and can include ischemia, bowel infarction, and perforation. Hemorrhage is an extremely rare presentation of GPA. We present a case of a woman with GPA and pulmonary renal syndrome on treatment who presents with severe gastrointestinal hemorrhage.Skin aging is the result of superimposed intrinsic (individual) and extrinsic (e.g., UV exposure or nutrition) aging. We first investigated the combination of the glycation reaction and UVA effects on a reconstructed skin model to explain their cumulative biological effect. We found that UVA exposure combined with glycation had the ability to intensify the response for specific markers for example, MMP1 or MMP3 mRNA, proteases involved in extracellular matrix degradation, or proinflammatory cytokine, IL1α, protein expression. Moreover, the association of glycation and UVA irradiation is believed to promote an environment that favors the onset of an elastotic-like phenomenon mRNA coding for elastin, elastase, and tropoelastin expression is increased. Secondly, because the damaging effects of UV radiation in vivo might be more detrimental in aged skin than in young skin due to increased accumulation of pentosidine and the exacerbation of alterations related to chronological aging, we studied the biological effect of soluble pentosidine in fibroblasts grown in monolayers. We found that pentosidine induced upregulation of CXCL2, IL8, and MMP12 mRNA expression (inflammatory and elastotic markers, respectively). Tropoelastin protein expression (elastin precursor) was also increased. Retrospective analysis of 57 cases of the SCC involving oropharynx (27 cases), hypopharynx (5 cases), larynx (11 cases), and oral cavity (14 cases) was performed. Each case was scrutinized for the basaloid morphology, p16, and PD-L1 expression. Basaloid morphology was identified in 47% of total cases. The majority of basaloid SCC variants were located in the oropharynx (89%). High expression of p16 was mostly observed in the oropharynx. High PD-L1 expression was seen predominantly in oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal locations. Further studies in a larger cohort are necessary to correlate PD-L1 and p16 expression with survival.
Knee osteoarthritis is a common disabling disorder, with no curative treatment. This study aims to assess autologous conditioned serum effectiveness in its treatment.

Following a systematic search (2000-2020) on major databases and screening and filtering processes, eight articles were included in the final analyses. The pooled effect of visual analog scale (VAS) and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) variables was evaluated before and after the intervention.

The combined standardized mean difference for the global WOMAC score was -2.44 and the combined weighted mean difference was -22.92. The combined standardized mean difference for the VAS score was -3.77 and the combined weighted mean difference was -32.37 (p<0.000).

To evaluate the performance of urinary fibrinogen β-chain (FBC) - either alone or associated with urinary tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins (UPY) - as bladder cancer (BCa) diagnostic biomarker.

164 subjects were tested.

Significantly different FBC and UPY levels were found between BCa patients and controls, as well as between low-grade and high-grade cancers. The diagnostic accuracy was 0.84 for FBC and 0.87 for UPY. The combination of FBC and UPY improved the accuracy to 0.91. The addition of clinical variables (age, gender, and smoking habit) to FBC and UPY into a model for BCa prediction significantlyimprovedthe accuracyto 0.99. The combination of FBC and UPY adjusted for clinical variables associates with the highest sensitivity and good specificity.

This study aims to investigate similarities and differences using lncRNA and mRNA coexpression network analysis in African ancestry (AA) and European ancestry (EA) among prostate cancer (PCa) patients.

We performed weighted gene coexpression network analysis of the expression from 49 of AA and 49 of EA to identify lncRNAs-mRNAs.

27 lncRNAs and 36 mRNAs were highly expressed in patients of AA. Two mRNAs and their antisense lncRNAs were expressed. Additionally, seven mRNAs were DE or coexpressed and had an impact on survival.

Higher prolactin levels in individuals with migraine were found in earlier studies, with a female sex-dominant trend. Studies that are more recent have identified that the expression of prolactin receptor in response to neuronal excitability and stress depends on sex with a dominant role in females.
