Second, perspectives relating to practical experience or "tacit knowledge" and judging the use of knowledge in particular cases or "phronesis". Third, the role of emotion in managers' knowledge needs and use. We found that having knowledge was positively valued by managers and leaders for improving care practices and enhancing the lives of people residing in care homes. Tacit knowledge and phronesis were particularly highly valued and we note challenges with the perceived applicability, relevance and use of research evidence. We identify that emotions are an important component within knowledge use and a need to further understand how to support the emotional wellbeing of managers so they can support care staff and residents. Greater consideration is needed as to how to optimise gaining and mobilising all knowledge types - "know-what," "know-how," "know-when" and "know-feel" - to benefit people living, and staff working, in care homes. This study aimed to compare the efficiency of non-surgical embryo transfer (ET) using a newly developed catheter, which enables transferring embryos into a proximal site of the uterus (mostly uterine body), and surgical ET of vitrified porcine embryos. In Experiment 1, the catheter was inserted into 12 gilts, with each half of the group allocated to skilled or novice operators. The time required for insertion into the uterus did not differ between skilled and novice operators (4 min 9 s and 4 min 6 s, respectively). In Experiment 2, 12 gilts were used as recipients for non-surgical and surgical ET with vitrified embryos (n = 6, each). There was no significant difference in the rate of piglet production based on the number of transferred embryos between surgical and non-surgical ET (25.8% vs. 15.4%, p = .098). The results suggest that non-surgical ET catheter allowed for easy insertion and transfer of embryos without special training. Although the catheter is effective for deposition of embryos into the proximal site of uterus, the efficiency of piglet production is not enhanced compared with surgical ET. The ET method using this catheter, being labor-saving and less-invasive, may contribute to the improvement of ET in pigs.
Many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are treated with psychotropic medications, and polypharmacy is common. Although few studies address psychotropic side effects in the population, people with IDD have been found more likely to experience side effects than others who do not have IDD. Because many individuals with IDD may not report side effects reliably, there is risk that side effects may be missed.

Psychotropic use and side effects of 71 adults with IDD admitted for a 30-day crisis stay to a Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment (START) Resource Center were reviewed. START is a specialised behavioural health outreach, training and crisis programme for individuals with IDD. During crisis stays, centre nurses administer the Matson Evaluation of Drug Side Effects screen, a psychometrically established psychotropic medication side effects screen developed for use with people with IDD. Data reviewed were de-identified data used to inform day-to-day practicunder-appreciated psychotropic side effects may play a role in behavioural health challenges of some people with IDD.
In the present study, data for individuals experiencing a crisis were reviewed and indicated high rates of psychotropic polypharmacy and side effects rates higher than previously reported for people with IDD not taking psychotropics. Prospective study in larger samples is needed to determine if missed or under-appreciated psychotropic side effects may play a role in behavioural health challenges of some people with IDD.Homeless individuals face many barriers to accessing healthcare, and EDs are often their primary entry point to the healthcare system. The COVID-19 pandemic has the potential to exacerbate existing social inequities and health disparities, including barriers to accessing social services and healthcare. Addressing the complex social and chronic health issues associated with homelessness can be challenging within the acute care environment. This perspective reflects upon the delivery of emergency healthcare to patients experiencing homelessness, and highlights strategies for optimising health outcomes during and beyond the pandemic.Current studies show that multispecies forests are beneficial regarding biodiversity and ecosystem functionality. However, there are only little efforts to understand the ecological mechanisms behind these advantages of multispecies forests. Bacteria are among the key plant growth-promoting microorganisms that support tree growth and fitness. Penicillin-Streptomycin chemical structure Thus, we investigated links between bacterial communities, their functionality and root trait dispersion within four major European forest types comprising multispecies and monospecific plots. Bacterial diversity revealed no major changes across the root functional dispersion gradient. In contrast, predicted gene profiles linked to plant growth activities suggest an increasing bacterial functionality from monospecific to multispecies forest. In multispecies forest plots, the bacterial functionality linked to plant growth activities declined with the increasing functional dispersion of the roots. Our findings indicate that enriched abundant bacterial operational taxonomic units are decoupled from bacterial functionality. We also found direct effects of tree species identity on bacterial community composition but no significant relations with root functional dispersion. Additionally, bacterial network analyses indicated that multispecies forests have a higher complexity in their bacterial communities, which points towards more stable forest systems with greater functionality. We identified a potential of root dispersion to facilitate bacterial interactions and consequently, plant growth activities.
Some epilepsy syndromes (sleep-related epilepsies [SRE]) have a strong link with sleep. Comorbid sleep disorders are common in patients with SRE and can exert a negative impact on seizure control and quality of life.

To define the standard procedures for the diagnostic pathway of patients with possible SRE (scenario 1) and the general management of patients with SRE and comorbidity with sleep disorders (scenario 2).

The project was conducted under the auspices of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) and the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE) Europe. The framework of the document entailed the following phases conception of the clinical scenarios; literature review; statements regarding the standard procedures. For literature search a step-wise approach starting from systematic reviews to primary studies was applied. Published studies were identified from the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE database and Cochrane Library.

Scenario 1 despite a low quality of evidence, recommendations on anamnestic evaluation, tools for capturing the event at home or in the laboratory are provided for specific SRE. Scenario 2 Early diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders (especially respiratory disorders) in patients with SRE are likely to be beneficial for seizures control.

Definitive procedures for evaluating patients with SRE are lacking. We provide advice that could be of help for standardising and improving the diagnostic approach of specific SRE. The importance of identifying and treating specific sleep disorders for the management and outcome of patients with SRE is underlined.

Density functional theory (DFT) simulations unveil the crucial role of the initial reversible C-C single bond formation for the synthesis of crystalline 2D CPs. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) studies and nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements demonstrate the formation of proclaimed crystalline, dual-pore structures with surface areas of up to 440 m2  g-1 . More importantly, the optoelectronic properties of the obtained 2D-PPQV1 (Eg =2.2 eV) and 2D-PPQV2 (Eg =2.2 eV) are compared with those of cyano-vinylene-linked 2D-CN-PPQV1 (Eg =2.4 eV) produced by the Knoevenagel reaction and imine-linked 2D COF analog (2D-C=N-PPQV1, Eg =2.3 eV), unambiguously proving the superior conjugation of the vinylene-linked 2D CPs using the HWE reaction. There is scarce knowledge about factors contributing to underlying inequalities in vaccination coverage among Pakistani children. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to measure and decompose socioeconomic inequalities in childhood vaccination coverage. Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey, version 2017-18, data were used for analysis. Bivariate association was checked through Chi-square test and concentration curve (CC) and concentration index (CI) were used to assess the existence and nature of inequality. Finally, decomposition analysis was performed to measure the contribution of different factors to the observed inequality. Our findings suggested that vaccination coverage is more concentrated among children of educated mothers (CI = 0.296) and decomposition results suggest that a substantial proportion of the inequality is explained by maternal education, wealth status, paternal education and improved sanitation (34%, 19%, 14% and 21% respectively). Also, differences are observed between regions regarding vaccination coverage. There is need of female-targeted interventions to increase maternal role in the society through better education and decision-making autonomy. Also, the policies to improve the household's wealth status should be considered. This study investigated the effects of substituting ear corn silage (ECS) for commercial formula feed on milk production and milk fatty acid profiles in grazing dairy farms during the summer season. A field survey was conducted on five grazing dairy farms in every summer month of 2017, 2018, and 2019. Three of the five farms substituted fresh ECS for the commercial formula feed at a ratio of 21 from July of each year (ECS farms). Other farms maintained the same feeding management as before (non-ECS farms). An interview survey was conducted on each farm to calculate feed intake and milk yield per cow. Feed and milk samples were collected in each survey. Milk compositions and milk fatty acid profiles were determined. The substitution of ECS for the commercial formula feed did not affect milk yield or milk composition, but ECS farms maintained low levels of milk urea compared with non-ECS farms (p less then .01). The ECS substitution also influenced some of the milk fatty acid proportions; C160 and C161 increased, and trans-11 C181, cis-9,trans-11 C182, and the sum of polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased, while these fatty acid proportions were maintained in non-ECS farms throughout the summer season (p less then .
