Dance for Health is a programme of weekly group dance sessions, which take place on wards in an acute hospital setting. Recent research demonstrates the value of creative arts activities in clinical settings across the globe. However, there is little research exploring the impact of dance programmes for frail older people in acute hospital settings, or healthcare professionals' perceptions of the impact of these sessions on patients, staff and the ward environment.

A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Twenty-one semi-structured interviews were conducted with staff who had supported patients participating in Dance for Health and the ward managers where the sessions took place. Data analysis was undertaken using a thematic analysis approach.

The sessions challenged staff assumptions about older patients' musical preferencescute hospital setting. Dance for Health had a positive impact on staff attending the sessions and enhanced staff-patient relationships. Staff support is key for effective delivery.

We performed an observational, multicenter cohort study in four participating hospitals in Saxony, Germany to characterize consecutive patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 who experienced acute stroke during hospitalization. Furthermore, we conducted a systematic review using PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library and bibliographies of identified papers following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines including data from observational studies of acute stroke in COVID-19 patients. Data were extracted by two independent reviewers and pooled with multicenter data to calculate risk ratios (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for acute stroke related to COVID-19 severity using a rady and previously published cohorts indicates that severity of COVID-19 is associated with an increased risk of acute stroke.
Most evidence for the association between ideal vascular health (IVH) and cognitive performance comes from high income countries. The aim was to investigate this association in the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health.

Cognition was assessed using the word list, verbal fluency and trail making tests. The IVH score included ideal metrics for body mass index, smoking, physical activity, diet, blood pressure, fasting glucose and total cholesterol. Poor, intermediate and optimal health were characterized in those presenting 0-2, 3-4, 5-7 ideal metrics, respectively. To determine the association between IVH score and cognitive performance, linear regression models adjusted for age, sex, education, race, alcohol use, depression and thyroid function were used.

In 12271 participants, the mean age was 51.3±8.9 years, 54% were women, 57% White and 53% had poor vascular health. Participants with intermediate (β=0.064, 95% confidence interval 0.033; 0.096) and optimal health (β=0.108, 95% confidence interval 0.052; 0.164) had better global cognitive Z-scores. In addition, interactions of IVH score with age, education and race were found, suggesting a better cognitive performance with higher IVH in older adults, Black/Brown participants and those with lower levels of education.

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a life-threatening autoimmune blistering disease targeting the skin and mucous membranes. Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) is an immune checkpoint which binds to two ligands, PDL1 and PDL2 resulting in negative regulation of antigen receptor signaling, thus, play a critical role in the immune regulation of autoimmune diseases.

In this work we aimed to assess serum levels of soluble PD1 (sPD1) in patients with active PV and in patients in remission in an attempt to evaluate its effect on disease severity.

In this case-control study, 60 pemphigus vulgaris patients (30 clinically active and 30 in a clinical remission) and 30 age matched healthy control subjects were included. Severity of PV was assessed using pemphigus disease area index (PDAI) score. Serum levels of sPD1 were measured by ELISA for both patients and healthy control.

Serum levels of sPD1 were significantly lower in PV patients than in controls (P<.001) and significantly lower in patients with active disease than in those in remission (P<.001). Serum sPD1 correlated negatively with the severity of the disease (P<.001, r=-0.4).

A defect in PD1 pathway is suggested in PV patients, and this defect plays a substantial role in determining the severity of the disease. Thus, sPD1 could be considered a useful marker for disease severity and targeting PD1 pathway could be a potential aim for future therapies of PV.

Individuals with AN (n=26) and mentally healthy controls (MHCs; n=16) viewed a picture of themselves and a standardized computer-generated obese body in random order for 4,000ms each and then rated the attractiveness of the body parts of both stimuli. We compared dwell times on subjectively unattractive versus attractive body parts, and body parts that show weight status and gain most strongly (stomach, hips, thighs) versus least strongly.

For both stimuli, participants focused longer on the subjectively unattractive body parts (p<.01 and .001), with an even stronger attentional bias in individuals with AN regarding the obese stimulus (p<.05). Both groups also gazed longer at body parts indicative of weight status or gain (both stimuli p<.001), with no group differences.

It has been suggested that biological factors play a major role in these cancer racial disparities. Previous studies on the biological factors contributing to cancer racial disparity have generated a very large number of candidate factors, although there is modest agreement among the results of the different studies. We describe ribavirin and iRTP concentrations within various compartments in two adult lung transplant recipients with RSV who were sampled throughout successful treatment courses with oral and inhaled ribavirin. In patient 1, iRTP BAL concentrations decreased by 45% over 3 days after changing inhaled ribavirin to oral (6.32 to 3.43 pmol/106 cells). In patient 2, iRTP BAL concentrations were 103 pmol/106 cells after 5 days of oral followed by 5 days of inhaled ribavirin. Further study is needed to describe ribavirin pharmacokinetics in the respiratory compartment to inform clinical use of ribavirin for respiratory viruses.
