ObjectiveTo develop a questionnaire with good reliability and validity that can comprehensively evaluate the influencing factors of life quality of patients with sudden deafness. MethodBased on the Green model and literature review, group discussions, semi-structured interviews and Delphi expert inquiries, an initial questionnaire was developed. From May 2018 to April 2019, 170 patients with sudden deafness in otolaryngology head and neck surgery in 2 comprehensive tertiary level A hospitals in Shanxi Province were selected for investigation by convenient sampling method. Through the critical ratio method and correlation analysis method, the data of each item are sorted and analyzed. The structural validity of the questionnaire was tested by exploratory factor analysis. The content validity of the questionnaire was evaluated by calculating the content validity index through expert inquiry. The reliability of the questionnaire was determined by calculating Cronbach's α coefficient and retesting the questionnai780-0.912; The retest reliability of the questionnaire level was 0.88, the retest reliability of each dimension is 0.810-0.913. ConclusionThe questionnaire on influencing factors of quality of life for patients with sudden deafness based on Green model has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a tool for evaluating influencing factors of quality of life for patients with sudden deafness.ObjectiveTo systematically assess the efficacy of sinus balloon dilation(SBCD) for patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS). check details MethodTo research the references whose the contents were related to the randomized controlled trials of sinus balloon dilation for treatment of chronic sinusitis from PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, WanFang, CNKI and other databases from January 2000 to June 2019. Assessed the quality and extracted the data of these included references and made Meta analysis by RevMan5.3 software. ResultA total of 11 references in English and Chinese were included. ResultOf Meta analysis showed that the difference had no statistical significance between the SNOT-20 score which were based on the statistics measured 3 months later and 6 months later [3 months later, SMD=-0.30, 95%CI(-1.01-0.41), P=0.40, 6 months later, SMD=-0.53, 95%CI(-3.22-2.16), P=0.70]and the score in the control group. Lund-Mackay CT score [SMD=-0.69, 95%CI(-0.72--0.66, P less then 0.00001) ]and VAS symptom score [SMD=-1.67, 95%CI(-1.91--1.44), P less then 0.00001]following SBCD versus FESS in the treatment of CRS had statistical significance. Besides, SBCD had a lower incidence [OR=0.29, 95%CI(0.14-0.59), P=0.0007]to develop postoperative complications compared with that in the control group. ConclusionBalloon dilation of sinuses can significantly relieve the symptoms of patients with chronic sinusitis, this effect is equal or even better. Moreover, the incidence of developing the postoperative complications is lower, which SBCD of CRS is worthy of clinical popularization.ObjectiveTo study the effects of typical middle ear lesions on bone conduction, and to provide a theoretical basis for the optimized design of bone conduction hearing aids. MethodA finite element model including the middle ear and cochlea was established by using micro-CT scanning date from a case of adult male human-cadaver temporal bone. The reliability of the model was verified by comparison with relevant experimental data. Based on this model, the effects of several typical middle ear lesions on bone conduction were analyzed. ResultWith the increase of tympanic membrane mass, the basilar membrane response at the frequency range of 0.25 kHz to 1 kHz was reduced, and the maximum decrease was 6.9 dB at the frequency of 0.5 kHz. The incus fixation reduced basilar membrane response at the frequency range of 0.2 kHz to 1 kHz, with the maximum decrease of 12.0 dB at 0.75 kHz. The ossicular chain disruption reduced the response of basilar membrane at the frequency range of 1 kHz to 4 kHz, which the decrease was 5.0 dB at 1.5 kHz in the case of incudomallear joint disruption and 11.0 dB at 2 kHz in the case of incudostapedial joint disruption. ConclusionThe results showed that the increased mass of the tympanic membrane and incus fixation mainly reduced the response of bone conduction at the low frequencies. The ossicular chain disruption mainly reduced the response of bone conduction at the middle frequencies. Moreover, the deterioration of incudostapedial disruption was more obvious.ObjectiveTo analyze the common clinical causes and audiological manifestations of unilateral hearing loss in children, and to provide a basis for early prevention and intervention. MethodA retrospective analysis of 20 cases of children diagnosed with unilateral hearing loss was conducted. The medical history was collected, followed by audiological and imaging examinations. ResultThe audiological performance of 20 children with unilateral hearing loss 1 case of conductive deafness, whose hearing curve was flat and showed moderate hearing loss. There were 19 cases of sensorineural deafness, of which 1 case was moderate deafness, 16 cases were severe deafness, and 2 cases were extremely severe deafness. The imaging results showed that there were 1 case with transverse fracture of the temporal bone, 1 case with congenital cholesteatoma, 9 cases with dysplasia of the cochlear nerve, and 4 cases with malformation of the inner ear. The history of the two children was collected and there were clear congenital cytomegalovirus infection and mumps virus infection. The causes of the remaining 3 cases were unknown. ConclusionUnilateral hearing loss in children is a common clinical diseasewith complex and diverse causes. Carefully analysis should be made to find out the causes and symptomatic treatment to provide a basis for early prevention and intervention of children's hearing.ObjectiveTo reveal the response characteristics of semicircular canal neurons(SCN) in the nonlinear perceptual interval, and to establish and screen out the precise SCN information coding model and function expression, which lays a foundation for the optimization and improvement of neuromodulation strategy of multichannel vestibular prosthesis. MethodThe perceptual electrophysiological information data of the SCNs during the rotational stimulation was recorded in the nonlinear perceptual interval. The nonlinear least-squares algorithm was used to fit the electrophysiological information data to establish the linear-nonlinear models. The Akaike information criterion was used to calculate the goodness of fit of each model to determine the optimal expression function. ResultIn the frequency experiment, the accurate information coding model of more than 85% of SCNs is a quadratic polynomial, and the frequency has no significant effect on the linear-nonlinear selection of the SCNs information coding model(P>0.05).
