This study aimed to assess the effect of air pollution and weather conditions on the frequency of hospital admissions due to acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in the population of Bialystok, known as the capital of the Green Lungs of Poland.

The study analyzed the medical records of 2,645 patients living within the borders of Bialystok who were treated for ACS between 2009 and 2017 and the data on air pollutants-nitrogen dioxide (NO
), sulfur dioxide (SO
), and particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5μm or less (PM
) and 10μm or less (PM
)-and the basic meteorological factors (temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure). A time-stratified case-crossover study design was applied to assess the effects of particulate matter, the concentration of gases, and weather conditions on ACS.

The number of patients admitted for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and unstable angina (UA) was 791, 999, and 855, respectively. The daily concentration norm for PM
recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) was exceeded in 692 days (i.e., 24.58% of the observation period). The significant increase in the number of ACS hospitalizations was associated with an interquartile-range increase in NO
concentration, with an odds ratio of 1.08 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.02-1.15, P=0.01), 1.09 (95% CI 1.01-1.18, P=0.03), and 1.11 (95% CI 1.00-1.22, P=0.048) for patients with ACS, NSTEMI, and UA, respectively.

The study showed that the effects of air pollution and weather conditions on the number of ACS hospitalizations are also observed in cities with moderately polluted or good air quality. NO
was identified as the main air pollutant affecting the incidence of ACS.

NO2 was identified as the main air pollutant affecting the incidence of ACS.The aim of the present study was to assess raw pork sausages collected on the Dutch market for the presence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) RNA. 46 of 316 (14.6%) products sampled from Dutch retail stores in 2017-2019 were positive for HEV RNA. HEV RNA was detected in 10.8% of "cervelaat" (n = 74), 18.5% of salami (n = 92), 26.1% of "metworst" (n = 46), 16.3% of "snijworst" (n = 43) samples. This was significantly more often than in other raw pork sausages like dried sausages, fuet or chorizo (3.3%, n = 61). The percentage of HEV RNA positive products was not significantly different for products sold as either sliced or unsliced deli meat. The average viral load in positive tested products was 2.76 log10 genome copies per 5 g, incidentally reaching up to 4.5 log10 genome copies per 5 g. The average HEV RNA level was significantly higher in samples collected in 2017 than those in samples collected in 2018, and most of the samples in 2019. Typing by sequence analysis was successful for 33 samples, all revealing genotype 3c. The results support recent epidemiological studies that identified specific raw pork sausages as risk factor for hepatitis E virus infection in the Netherlands. Persons at risk, including Dutch transplant recipients, have been advised to avoid the consumption of raw pork sausages. The study warrants a continuation of monitoring to follow the HEV RNA levels in pork products for use in risk assessments and risk management.Estrogen-related receptor gamma (ERRγ) is the NR3B subgroup of associated transcription factors. In this report, a new generation of a potent and selective ERRγ inverse agonist (25) with good biocompatibility was proposed. We also explored the potential of the newly developed compound 25 in the PDTC model to expand the original indications from ATC. In addition, an X-ray crystallographic study of the ligand and ERRγ co-complex showed that 25 completely binds to the target protein (PDB 6KNR). Its medicinal chemistry, including a distinctive structural study to in vivo results, denotes that 25 may be directed towards the development of a pivotal treatment for ERRγ-related cancers.
Among SGA newborns, those < 5th % for GA are more likely to have adverse outcomes than those at 5-9th %. The differential morbidity and mortality may be due to abnormal placental pathology between groups. Our purpose was to compare placental pathology characteristics and composite placental pathology among SGA infants with birth weights <5th % vs. 5-9th %.

This study is a secondary analysis of a multicenter, retrospective cohort study. Placental pathological variables and composite placental pathology (CPP) among SGA infants <5th % and 5-9th % were compared. Multivariable logistic regression was used to model the probability of an infant's birth weight being classified as <5th % based on pathology characteristics.

Of 11,487 live singleton births, 925 SGA infants met inclusion criteria. Placental pathology was available for review in 407 (44 %) SGA infants 210 (51.6 %) <5th % and 197 (48.4 %) 5-9th %. A decreased placental weight for GA, was more common in the <5th % group compared to the 5-9th % group (p = 0.0019). No significant differences in the distribution of pathological variables or in CPP (p = 0.3) was observed between the two centile groups. A decreased placental weight was the only reliable predictor of an infant's birth weight centile group (p = 0.0018).

The universal two-child policy was implemented in January 2016 in China. The objective of this study was to compare the influence of change in fertility policy on obstetric issues.

2016 was taken as the cut-off point, and a retrospective study was conducted on data of patients who delivered in the China-Japan Friendship Hospital from January 2014 to December 2018. Maternal characteristics, mode of delivery, and pregnancy outcomes were studied in detail.

Total 8931 babies were delivered from 2014 to 2018. NB598 There was a marked increase in the birth rate after the two-child policy. The percentage of elderly pregnant women and rate of cesarean sections increased significantly in 2017 and 2018. The primary cesarean section rates in 2017 and 2018 were significantly lower than those in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Increased incidence of placenta previa and postpartum hemorrhage were observed; however, no significant differences were seen in the rates of hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes mellitus, and neonatal asphyxia within these five years.
