The aim of this study was to investigate how to precisely expose the intrameatal portion of vestibular schwannomas (VSs) without damaging the labyrinth.

This was a retrospective study of patients who had undergone retrosigmoid resection of a VS in our institution from April 2018 to December 2021. The patients were divided into microsurgery (MS) and navigation endoscopic-assisted (combined surgery, CS) groups and the effects of image guidance and endoscopy evaluated. The tumors in the CS group were then divided into medial and lateral types by fusion imaging and the differences between the two types analyzed.

Data of 84 patients were analyzed. Residual tumor was detected by postoperative MRI at the fundus of the internal auditory canal in 5 of the 31 patients in the MS group and 1 of the 53 in the CS group. The labyrinth was damaged in four patients in the MS group but was not damaged in any of the CS group patients. The CS group included 29 lateral type and 24 medial type schwannomas. Endoscopic-assisted resection of residual tumor in the IAC was performed significantly more often on medial than on lateral tumors.

Navigation and endoscopy are useful in assisting the exposure of the intrameatal portion of VSs. Selleckchem Scutellarin Preoperative MRI/CT fusion imaging is helpful in preoperative evaluation and surgical planning in patients undergoing VS surgery. Tumors of the medial type require endoscopic assistance for resection.

Although uterus transplantation (UTx) is being increasingly performed as a non-vital procedure to address this unfortunate condition, the immunosuppression required presents risks that are further compounded by pregnancy and during the puerperium period. These vulnerabilities require avoidance of SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnant UTx recipients especially during the third trimester, as accumulating evidence reveals increased risks of morbidity and mortality. Here we describe a successful UTx case with delivery of a healthy child, but in which both mother and neonate developed asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection seven days after RNA vaccination, on day 35 post-partum. Although the patient was successfully treated with a combination therapy comprised of two monoclonal antibodies, this case highlights the challenges associated with performing UTx in the era of Covid-19. More broadly, the risks of performing non-vital organ transplantation during a pandemic should be discussed among team members and prospective patients, weighing the risks against the benefits in improving the quality of life, which were considerable for our patient who achieved motherhood with the birth of a healthy child.
Laparoscopic gastrectomy and robotic gastrectomy are the most widely adopted treatment of choice for gastric cancer. To systematically assess the safety and effectiveness of robotic gastrectomy for gastric cancer, we carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis on short-term and long-term outcomes of robotic gastrectomy.

In order to find relevant studies on the efficacy and safety of robotic gastrectomy (RG) and laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) in the treatment of gastric cancer, numerous medical databases including PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, Google Scholar, and China Journal Full-text Database (CNKI) were consulted, and Chinese and English studies on the efficacy and safety of RG and LG in the treatment of gastric cancer published from 2012 to 2022 were screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and a meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4 software.

The meta-analysis inlcuded 48 literatures, with 20,151 gastric cancer patients, including 6,175 in the RG group and 13rate, mortality rate, conversion rate, and 3-year overall survival rate were all found to be statistically similar at
> 0.05.

In the treatment of gastric cancer, robotic gastrectomy is a safe and effective procedure that has both short- and long-term effects. To properly evaluate the advantages of robotic surgery in gastric cancer, more randomised controlled studies with rigorous research methodologies are needed.

Proximal femoral osteoid osteoma (OO) is extremely easy to be misdiagnosed or missed. The purpose of this study was to retrospectively analyze the clinical data of patients with proximal femoral OO in order to determine the clinical manifestation and imaging characteristics of the disease, so as to provide help for the preoperative diagnosis and clinical treatment of proximal femoral OO.

This was a retrospective study involving 35 patients with proximal femoral OO admitted into our hospital from January 2015 to January 2021. The baseline characteristics of the participants included; 24 males and 11 females, aged between 13 and 25 (mean 16.2) years old, and the course of the disease was 1 to 14 (mean 6.3) months. We used previous medical experience records of the patients to analyze for the causes of misdiagnosis. Moreover, we compared the difference between preoperative and postoperative treatment practices in alleviating pain in OO patients and restoring hip function. Follow-ups were carried out regularlxity and diversity of clinical manifestations constitutes the main reasons for the misdiagnosis of proximal femoral OO.
We aimed to analyze the relationship between pulmonary adenocarcinoma patients with vascular tumor thrombus and nerve invasion and different CT features.

The preoperative CT scanning data of 86 patients with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent surgical resection in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were analyzed in the form of retrospective analysis. The CT images of all patients were observed, and the relationship between them and vascular tumor thrombus and nerve invasion of lung adenocarcinoma was analyzed. At the same time, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of enhanced CT and plain CT were compared to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of both.

The results showed that the vascular tumor thrombus of lung adenocarcinoma was mainly related to the solid components and lobulated and calcified tumors in CT images, and the nerve invasion of lung adenocarcinoma was mainly related to the tumors with bronchial inflation sign in CT images (
< 0.05). The sensitivity, specificity, and accu of lung adenocarcinoma, while patients with bronchial inflation sign are related to nerve invasion.
Penetrating brain injury (PBI) is a heterogeneous condition with many variables. Few data exist on civilian PBI. In some publications, PBI differentiation between low-velocity injury (LVI) and high-velocity injury (HVI) is made, but exact definitions are not given yet. The incidence of PBI depends heavily on the country of origin. Furthermore, captive bolt pistol (CBP) injuries represent a rare type of LVI and almost no reports exist in the human medical literature. Treatment of PBI has been controversially discussed due to high morbidity and mortality with results varying considerably between series. Prognostic factors are of utmost importance to identify patients who presumably benefit from treatment.

A retrospective, single-center analysis of a consecutive patient series was performed from September 2005 to May 2018. We included all patients with PBI who reached our hospital alive and received any neurosurgical operative procedure.

Of 24 patients, 38% died, 17% had an unfavourable outcome, and 46% haLVI and HVI is crucial for decision-making and predicting outcomes. In patients presenting with object trajectories crossing the midline, no favourable outcome could be achieved. Nevertheless, in total, a favourable outcome was possible in almost half of the patients who succeeded in surgery.
To investigate the association of Ki-67 change pattern after core needle biopsy (CNB) and prognosis in HR+/HER2- early breast cancer patients.

Eligible patients were categorized into three groups Low group, Elevation group, and High group. Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were used to compare the clinic-pathological characteristics. Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate the rates of recurrence-free interval (RFI) and breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS), which were compared
the Log-rank test. Cox proportional hazard analysis was performed to investigate independent prognostic factors.

A total of 2,858 patients were included 1,179 (41.3%), 482 (16.9%), and 1,197 (41.8%) patients were classified into the low, elevation, and high groups, respectively. Age, tumor size, histological grade, lymph-vascular invasion (LVI), and ER level status were associated with Ki-67 change pattern after CNB. With a median follow-up of 53.6 months, the estimated 5-year RFI rates for the low group, elevation, and high groups were 96.4%, 95.3% and 90.9%, respectively (
 < 0.001). And 5-year BCSS rates were 99.3%, 98.3% and 96.8%, respectively (
= 0.001). Compared with patients in the low group, patients in the high group had significantly worse RFI (hazard ratio [
] 1.71, 95% confidence interval [
] 1.16-2.54) in multivariate analysis.

Ki-67 change after CNB was associated with prognosis in HR+/HER2- early breast cancer. Patients with Ki-67 high or elevation after CNB had an inferior disease outcome, indicating the necessity of re-evaluating Ki-67 on surgical specimens after CNB.

The novel robotic-assisted bronchoscopy (RAB) platform can improve the accuracy and yield of ENB biopsy, and the use of RAB has been extended to ICG dye marking. However, performing this procedure in the hybrid operating room guided by cone-beam CT (CBCT) with immediate proceed to lung surgery has not been well reported. We studied the safety, feasibility and clinical outcomes of 5 consecutive cases performed between December 2021 and March 2022. Navigation success was 100% while localization success using ICG was 80%. The benefits and pitfalls of robotic bronchoscopy procedures, and challenges of combining with hybrid operating room CBCT were discussed in detail. In conclusion, robotic-assisted bronchoscopy is a promising and useful tool for ICG fluorescence dye-marking, providing accurate navigation, superior maneuverability and improved ergonomics compared to conventional bronchoscopy-guided ENB procedures.
