While voluntary HCW return is integral to healthsystem rebuildingin conflict-affected and post-conflict settings, there has been little exploration of the nature of national or international policies which encourage HCW return and reintegration to their home countries in the post-conflict period.

We conducted a systematic review to identify policies and policy recommendations intended to facilitate thereturn ofdisplaced HCWs to theirhome countries andacknowledge their contribution to rebuilding the post-conflict health system. We searched three bibliographic databases and a range of organisational and national health agency websites to identify peer-reviewedt address factors within and beyond the health sector to encourage displaced HCW return and provide sustainable reintegration solutions for those who return to post-conflict health systems.
Ambient temperature observations from single monitoring stations (usually located at the major international airport serving a city) are routinely used to estimate heat exposures in epidemiologic studies. This method of exposure assessment does not account for potential spatial variability in ambient temperature. In environmental health research, there is increasing interest in utilizing spatially-resolved exposure estimates to minimize exposure measurement error.

We conducted time-series analyses to investigate short-term associations between daily temperature metrics and emergency department (ED) visits for well-established heat-related morbidities in five US cities that represent different climatic regions Atlanta, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco. In addition to airport monitoring stations, we derived several exposure estimates for each city using a national meteorology data product (Daymet) available at 1 km spatial resolution.

Across cities, we found positive associations between same-day temperature (maximum or minimum) and ED visits for heat-sensitive outcomes, including acute renal injury and fluid and electrolyte imbalance. We also found that exposure assessment methods accounting for spatial variability in temperature and at-risk population size often resulted in stronger relative risk estimates compared to the use of observations at airports. This pattern was most apparent when examining daily minimum temperature and in cities where the major airport is located further away from the urban center.

To analyze the effect of sacrificing the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) on the early postoperative outcome of cruciate retaining (CR) highly congruent rotating platform TKA.

From May 2018 to September 2019, 105 cases of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with CR highly congruent rotating platform prosthesis were retrospectively analyzed. According to the tension of posterior cruciate ligament, they were divided into sacrifice group (29 cases, 27.6%) and retention group (76 cases, 72.4%). Preoperative and postoperative The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) score, range of motion (ROM) were compared between the two groups. In addition, postoperative infection, prosthesis loosening, bearing dislocation, and other complications were also compared.

All patients were followed up for 11~24 months (mean 18.14 ± 3.52) months. There was no significant difference in general data, preoperative HSS score, and ROM between the two groups (P > 0.05). At the last follow-up, HSS score and ROM of the two groups were better than those before operation (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). Moreover, there were no complications such as infection, loosening of prosthesis, and bearing dislocation in all cases.

In the present study, we used an in vitro ubiquitination assay and identified ubiquitin E3 ligase NEDD4 and the ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UbcH6 involved in the ubiquitination of IGPR-1. In vitro GST-pulldown and in vivo co-immunoprecipitation assays demonstrated that NEDD4 binds to IGPR-1. Over-expression of wild-type NEDD4 downregulated IGPR-1 and deletion of WW domains (1-4) of NEDD4 revoked its effects on IGPR-1. Knockdown of NEDD4 increased IGPR-1 levels in A375 melanoma cells. Deletion of 57 amino acids encompassing the polyproline rich (PPR) motifs on the C-terminus of IGPR-1 nullified its binding with NEDD4. Furthermore, we demonstrate that NEDD4 promotes K48- and K63-dependent polyubiquitination of IGPR-1. The NEDD4-mediated polyubiquitination of IGPR-1 stimulates lysosomal-dependent degradation of IGPR-1 as the treatment of cells with the lysosomal inhibitors, bafilomycine or ammonium chloride increased IGPR-1 levels ectopically expressed in HEK-293 cells and in multiple endogenously IGPR-1 expressing human skin melanoma cell lines.

We report an evaluation of a North-South-South collaboration to develop health research capacity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) by establishing a postgraduate programme in nutritional epidemiology at the Kinshasa School of Public Health (KSPH), where EMI was adopted. We report experiences and perceptions of stakeholders, facilitators and students about using EMI.

In-depth qualitative interviews were conducted between October and December 2019 among convenience sampled stakeholders (8), facilitators (11) and students (12) involved in the programme from all three partner institutions (University of Kinshasa; University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa; University of Bergen, Norway).
