A more stringent inclusion criteria and fusion definitions would have led to an exclusion of two more patients and a dropout of two patients from the "fused" group, which would have led to a fusion rate of 85.71%.

This is the largest series of hallux rigidus patients that were operated with an IOFix device. The rates of fusion and hardware removal in MTPJ1 arthrodesis performed with an IOFix implant were found to be similar at most when compared to previously described rates that were obtained with other cheaper and more simple fixation devices.

Anterior chamber cholesterolosis is a rare phenomenon which occurs mostly in chronically blind eyes. We present the anterior and posterior ultrasound findings in a case of anterior chamber cholesterolosis secondary to Eales' disease and ocular trauma, which may contribute to the understanding of the potential mechanism of this phenomenon.

A 48-year-old man presented with "sparking" right eye, which appeared soon after the ocular trauma. Both eyes were confirmed Eales' disease in our center 8 years ago, and right eye remained no light perception since then. Intraocular pressure of right eye measured by Goldmann applanation tonometry was 1 mmHg. Slitlamp photograph revealed multiple polychromatic large crystals in anterior chamber. Ultrasound biomicroscopy showed that anterior chamber was filled with extensive large granular substances. Dense dotted hyperechoic foci and retinal detachment was found in B-scan ultrasound examination. The right eye was diagnosed as anterior chamber cholesterolosis secondary to Eales' disease and ocular trauma. The patient was asymptomatic, and therefore was advised to have regular follow-up.

The findings of above imaging examinations, as well as complaint of "sparkling" eye appeared soon after ocular trauma elucidate that anterior chamber cholesterol crystals were from vitreous cavity. Any factors facilitating the communication of anterior chamber and vitreous body may lead to the occurrence of this rare phenomenon in predisposing eyes. The anterior and posterior ultrasound findings may give a clue on the potential mechanism.

Based on Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) conducted by Ministry of Health, Indonesia, prediabetes prevalence tends to increase from 2007 until 2018. The numbers are relatively higher in rural than those in urban area despite of small discrepancies between the two (~ 2-4%). The purpose of this study was to identify urban-rural differences in potential determinants for prediabetes in Indonesia.

This analysis used secondary data collected from nationwide Health Survey in 2018. Respondents were aged ≥15 years who met inclusion criteria of analysis with no history of diabetes mellitus. Prediabetes criteria followed American Diabetes Association 2019. Multiple logistic regression was also employed to assess the transition probability of potential determinants for prediabetes in urban and rural Indonesia.

Up to 44.8% of rural respondents were prediabetics versus their urban counterparts at 34.9%, yet non-response bias was observed in the two. Young adults aged 30 years were already at risk of prediabetes. Urban-rural distinction for marital status and triglyceride level was observed while other determinants tended to overlap across residence. Several modifiable factors might contribute differently in both population with careful interpretation.

Nuclear factor of activated T cells 2 (NFAT2) has been reported to regulate the development and malignancy of few tumors. In this study, we aimed to explore the effect of NFAT2 expression on cell fate of HepG2 cell and its potential mechanisms.

Firstly, the pcDNA3.1-NFAT2 plasmid was transfected into HepG2 cells to construct NFAT2 overexpressed HepG2 cells. Then, the chemical count kit-8 cell viability assay, Annexin V-FITC apoptosis detection, EdU labeling proliferation detection, transwell and wound healing experiments were performed. The NFAT2 overexpression suppressed the cell viability, invasion and migration capabilities, and promoted apoptosis of HepG2 cells. NFAT2 overexpression induced the expression of Egr2 and FasL and suppressed the phosphorylation of AKT and ERK. The sensitivity and Ca
mobilization of HepG2 cells was also inhibited by NFAT2 overexpression. Compared with adjacent tissues, the carcinoma tissues expressed less NFAT2, Egr2, FasL and more COX-2 and c-myc.
