During in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, final oocyte maturation is usually triggered by human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) for its known effect in mimicking Luteinizing Hormone (LH) surge; however, with the widespread use of the 'antagonist protocol', Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone agonist (GnRHa) is being more commonly employed as a trigger in order to minimize or eliminate the risk of ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome (OHSS). Many studies proved its efficacy in inducing oocyte maturation and its safety in preventing OHSS in high-risk groups. Moreover, some studies showed that GnRHa trigger may improve oocyte yield. This study aimed to further explore any beneficial effect of adding GnRHa to hCG (dual trigger) on oocyte yield and fertilization rate in normal responder women.

We retrospectively reviewed and analyzed the data from 127 patients on antagonist protocol (67 dual trigger and 60 HCG trigger).

The number of total oocytes, the number of MII oocytes and the number of fertilized oocytes were all significantly higher with the dual trigger protocol compared to hCG-only trigger. However, there is no significant difference in clinical pregnancy rate.

This animal study aimed to demonstrate the synergistic effect of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and alcoholic extract of nettle on serum chemerin and beta cells function in type 2 diabetic male rats.

Thirty-two STZ-induced diabetic male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups including the control group, the supplemented group with 200mg/day of nettle, the training group with five sessions per week of HIIT, and the group with combined nettle and HITT intervention. Body weight, lipid profile, beta cells function, and chemerin level were assessed after eight weeks of the intervention.

Future human studies are warranted.During our exploring the anticancer activity of some medicinal plants and their major metabolites, the aerial parts of the Egyptian Matricaria chamomilla (flowers and stems) were studied. GC-MS analysis of the organic soluble extracts of the flowers and stems fractions revealed the presence of 43 and 45 compounds, respectively. Individual chromatographic purification of the flowers and stems' extracts afforded three major compounds. Structures of these compounds were identified by 1D- and 2D-NMR and HRESI-MS spectroscopic data as bisabolol oxide A (1) and (E)-tonghaosu (2) (as mixture of ratio 21) from the flowers extract, meanwhile apigenin-7-β-d-glucoside (3) from the stems fraction. Biologically, the chamomile extracts announced significant antiproliferative activities exceeded in potency by ∼1.5 fold in case of the stem, recording GI50 13.16 and 17.04 μg/mL against Caco-2 and MCF-7, respectively. Both fractions were approximately equipotent against the migration of the same cell type down to 10 μg/mL together, compounds 1, 2 but not 3, showed considerable growth inhibition of the same cells at GI50 13.36 and 11.83 μg/mL, respectively. Interestingly, they were able to suppress Caco-2 colon cancer cells migration at 5.8 μg/mL and potently inactivate the VEGFR2 angiogenic enzyme (1.5-fold relative to sorafenib. This study aimed to assess knowledge and awareness among dental specialists, general dentists and dental assistants regarding standard patient care guidelines for minimizing the spread of the infection.

A survey-based cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 84 participants. The participants were divided into groups of dental specialists, general dentists and dental assistants. A modified version of a validated questionnaire was used to evaluate knowledge and awareness regarding SARS‑CoV‑2 as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. Data was analyzed using the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc Tukey's tests to assess differences in knowledge regarding the SARS‑CoV‑2 guidelines across the 3 groups. The simple linear regression analysis was used to examine factors influencing the knowledge scores.

Among all dental specialists, 13 orthodontists, 9 operative dentists, 8 maxillofacial surgeons, 4 prosthodontists, and 1 periodontist responded to the survey. The mean knowledge scores of dental specialists, general dentists and dental assistants were 10.05 ±2.10, 9.95 ±2.30 and 8.53 ±2.10, respectively. Overall, we found a significant difference (p = 0.02) in the knowledge scores between the groups, and pairwise comparisons showed that there was a significant difference (p = 0.03) in the knowledge scores between dental specialists and dental assistants.

These findings suggest that hospitals should conduct mandatory workshops, training sessions and seminars to raise the awareness of the novel coronavirus pandemic and disinfection protocols, not only for specialists, but for all staff members.
