Two radiologists assessed DWI MRI scans of BRAO patients for RDR in a retrospective cohort study. Inter- and intrarater reliability were calculated using Kappa statistics. Detection rates of RDR were compared among MRI scans with varying field strength, sequence type and onset-to-DWI time intervals. 85 BRAO patients (63.1 ± 16.5 years) and 89 DWI scans were evaluated. Overall sensitivity of RDR in BRAO was 46.1% with visually correlating low ADC signal in 56.1% of cases. Localization of RDR matched distribution of fundoscopic retinal edema in 85% of patients. Inter- and intra-rater agreement for RDR in BRAO was κinter = 0.64 (95% CI 0.48-0.80) and κintra = 0.87 (95% CI 0.76-0.96), respectively. RDR detection rate tended to be higher for 3T, when compared to 1.5T MRI scans (53.7% vs. 34.3%%; p = 0.07). RDR were identified within 24 h up to 2 weeks after onset of visual impairment. RDR in BRAO can be observed by means of standard stroke DWI in a substantial proportion of cases, although sensitivity and interrater reliability were lower than previously reported for complete central retinal artery occlusion.This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of FDG PET/CT in patients with suspected recurrent thymic epithelial tumors (TETs). We retrospectively reviewed 83 patients with histopathologically proven TETs (50 thymomas; 33 thymic carcinomas) who underwent FDG PET/CT after surgery. The sensitivity and specificity of FDG PET/CT in detecting recurrence were calculated. The progression-free survival rate (PFS) was calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method. FDG PET/CT results were positive in 50 patients and negative in 33. Recurrent TETs were confirmed in 40 of 50 patients with positive PET/CT findings. The sensitivity and specificity of FDG PET/CT were 100% and 76.7%, respectively. Disease progression occurred in 28 patients during the follow-up. FDG PET/CT showed added prognostic value over the Masaoka stage and histopathology. Among patients with the same Masaoka stage, negative PET/CT was significantly associated with better PFS (P  less then  0.001). Similarly, among patients with the same histopathology, negative PET/CT was also associated with a significantly longer PFS (P  less then  0.001). Total absorbed dose rates in H. orientalis were highly variable, although generally below widely used thresholds considered harmful for animal health. Internal exposure was the main source of absorbed dose rate (81% on average), with 90Sr being the main contributor (78% of total dose rate, on average). These results highlight the importance of assessing both internal and external exposure levels in order to perform a robust evaluation of the exposure to radiation in wildlife. Long-term land use data can be used to quantify floodplain functions and provide spatially explicit information for management, restoration, and flood-risk mitigation. We present a comprehensive dataset quantifying floodplain land use change along the 3.3 million km2 Mississippi River Basin (MRB) covering 60 years (1941-2000) at 250-m resolution. We developed four unique products as part of this work, a(n) (i) Google Earth Engine interactive map visualization interface, (ii) Python code that runs in any internet browser, (iii) online tutorial with visualizations facilitating classroom code application, and (iv) instructional video demonstrating code application and database reproduction. Our data show that MRB's natural floodplain ecosystems have been substantially altered to agricultural and developed land uses. These products will support MRB resilience and sustainability goals by advancing data-driven decision making on floodplain restoration, buyout, and conservation scenarios.Crb2 is a cell polarity-related type I transmembrane protein expressed in the apical membrane of podocytes. Knockdown of crb2 causes glomerular permeability defects in zebrafish, and its complete knockout causes embryonic lethality in mice. Human podocytes lacking CRB2 had significantly decreased F-actin positive area and were more susceptible to apoptosis than their wild-type counterparts.
