The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is on par for the size of a French door fridge that costs this much. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker packed into the left door, though it's not the biggest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments for the perfect storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's interior design is stylish, too. The LED lighting is a nice feature and the inside storage bins feature an additional shelf that folds down so that you can store large items. The drawers are equipped with temperature controls, so you can set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also comes with numerous options for customizing. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted, and when the filter requires a change.

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless part of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and dual compressors to preserve food. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or a kitchenette that wants a built-in appearance and top-of-the line food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction of a degree--this is key in preventing freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also performed well. It reached the initial temperature within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

The LG LRFLC2706S is an excellent counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage into an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features an ordinary French door layout, with two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set crisper drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more room. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker making it easy to move the ice when needed. The freezer also has thoughtful design features, such as sliding drawers that allow you to sort your things. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, particularly when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than other refrigerators we tried. This could be due to its greater capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. The sunken handles let shorter people open them from the bottom. However, taller people still struggle to close them without slamming them. It would have been more effective to have front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a little less than the most expensive counter depth refrigerators that have an icemaker, which makes it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't cost a fortune this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a simple fridge that might not be as appealing as some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a suitable choice. Its most significant feature, the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items such as vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large water and ice maker dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located above the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. This drawer allows you to direct the majority of the fridge's cooling power to this area so it can be used to store food items that require extra attention. french door fridge freezers can adjust this feature using the slider located on the in the middle of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't be among the top in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
