In this study, we examine the facilitators that helped hesitant adopters - those who are both vaccinated and report some degree of hesitancy - overcome barriers to vaccination. Drawing on a sample of 867 hesitant adopters in Arkansas, we find social networks, individual actions, health care organizations and professionals, employers, religious communities and leaders, and the media all play a role in helping the vaccine hesitant overcome barriers to vaccination. Our findings demonstrate vaccine hesitancy and uptake occur simultaneously, and overcoming hesitancy in the U.S. population requires multifaceted strategies from multiple entities. We provide recommendations for overcoming barriers, including hesitancy, based on our findings.
Does the rater-perspective of youths' therapeutic alliance matter? To answer this, we evaluated the relationships between four perspectives of youths' alliance, then, we examined whether each perspective and potential discordance between the perspectives predicted outcomes.

Participants were 65 youth (
age = 15.11,
 = 2.14; 76.9% girls) undergoing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and their therapists (
= 24). Youths' alliance was rated by youth, therapists and parents using the Therapeutic Alliance Scale for Children-revised and by observers using the Therapy Process Observational Coding System-Alliance scale. Posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) were assessed with the Child PTSD Symptom Scale (CPSS) and the Clinician Administered PTSD Scale for Children and Adolescents (CAPS-CA).

The alliance ratings by youth-parent, parent-therapist, and therapist-observer significantly correlated. Only a higher youth-rated alliance significantly predicted fewer PTSS. Furthermore, a higher therapist-rated than youth-rated alliance significantly predicted higher scores on CPSS and CAPS-CA, and a higher parent-rated than youth-rated alliance predicted significantly higher CPSS score.

Therapists should explicitly check in with youth clients about the alliance; because only youths' evaluation of their alliance predicted the outcome and an overestimation of their alliance by therapists and parents predicted more PTSS.

Reportedly, the Bangladesh government prioritized resuming public universities after bringing all the students under vaccination. However, little is known about students' intention toward the COVID-19 vaccines in Bangladesh. Under the circumstances, this study attempted to assess the COVID-19 vaccine-related knowledge, perceptions, attitude, and acceptability of a COVID-19 vaccine of public university students. Besides, factors affecting the degrees of COVID-19 vaccine-related knowledge, perceptions, attitudes, and vaccine acceptability were also explored. Results from descriptive analyses revealed that most of the respondents showed positive attitudes toward a COVID-19 vaccine, while 78% of them found to have adequate knowledge. Nevertheless, 37% of students exhibiting negative perceptions about the vaccine raised our concern. However, 72.7% of respondents intended to take a COVID-19 vaccine. Outcomes of multinomial logistic model showed that knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes significantly varied across the level of education, residence area, and COVID-19 infection history of the respondents. Further, findings of binary logistic model reported that female students, students of low family income, those free from COVID-19 infection, students having inadequate knowledge, and negative perceptions and attitudes toward the vaccine were susceptible to vaccine hesitancy and resistance. Indeed, our research will assist the authorities in better understanding the students' attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccines and in developing appropriate policies for a successful vaccination campaign in Bangladesh and other countries with similar background.
To evaluate the effectiveness of varicella vaccine (VarV) as post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) among children during varicella outbreaks.

A comprehensive literature search was performed in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, SinoMed, Wanfang and CNKI. Relevant outcomes included the incidence of varicella. Pooled estimates were calculated using a fixed-effects or random-effects model according to the heterogeneity among studies.

A total of 15 studies with 7,474 children that received one or two dosages of VarV as PEP and 183,827 children who received no VarV were included in the meta-analysis. In total, one-dose and two-dose VarV as PEP had 43% (95% confidence interval (CI)27%, 55%) and 60% (95%CI 35%, 75%) efficacy, respectively. When PEP was applied within 3days, the pooled VarV as PEP for prevention of varicella was 80% (95%CI 68%, 88%); when PEP was administered beyond 3days, the pooled VarV as PEP for the prevention of varicella was 50% (95%CI 11%, 72%). If the PEP was implemented with a coverage of more than 80%, the VarV could prevent 82% of varicella cases from occurring (95%CI 15%, 96%); if the PEP covered a maximum of 80% of the susceptible cases, the VarV could prevent 65% of varicella cases from occurring (95%CI 50%, 76%).

The two-dose VarV had better efficacy than one-dose VarV in the control of varicella outbreaks, especially if PEP was applied within 3days of an outbreak and in conjunction with a high coverage rate ≥80%.

Rare cases of subacute thyroiditis have been reported after administration of viral vaccines. Here, we report four cases of subacute thyroiditis after administration of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech®). We describe the clinical, laboratory and imaging features of five cases of subacute thyroiditis after COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech®). COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech®)-associated subacute thyroiditis may present with clinical findings typical of classic subacute thyroiditis such as fever, neck pain, weakness, and tremor within a few days following vaccination. Subacute thyroiditis may be focal or may progress with diffuse bilateral involvement. Depending on the extent of subacute thyroiditis involvement, significant increases in acute-phase reactants can be observed. COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech®) associated subacute thyroiditis responds quite well to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory therapy. Clinicians should be aware of the risk of developing subacute thyroiditis after vaccination.Vaccination for the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) provides an effective approach for the general improvement of social safety and individual health. However, given that the current COVID-19 vaccine can only work for a period of time, the continuous vaccination of the vaccine will be particularly important. Using the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) Model, Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM) and vaccine hesitancy (VH) theory, this research evaluates the continuous vaccination for COVID-19. This research selected Chinese survey platform to recruit respondents and conducted online surveys. A total of 768 Chinese individuals who were vaccinated participated in the survey, and 561 responses were effective after screening. Six valuable and novel findings are identified through this research. First, perceived efficacy has a positive significant impact on vaccination intention, but the positive effects of outcome expectancy and risk perception on vaccination intention are not significant. Second, social positive cues play a significant role in promoting vaccination intention. Third, VH has a negative significant influence on vaccination intention. Fourth, vaccination behavior produces a positive significant effect on perceived usefulness and satisfaction, respectively. Nesuparib cell line Fifth, perceived usefulness exerted a positive significant impact on satisfaction and continuous vaccination, respectively. Sixth, satisfaction has no positive significant influence on continuous vaccination. Our theoretical model, which is the main contribution of this research, indicates that individual continuous vaccination is a process from motivation to intention, and from intention to behavior, and then from behavior to continuous vaccination.Gaps between physician and patient perceptions may lead to misunderstandings and mismanage of treatment. There are sparse data about the differences in opinions toward medical cannabis (MC) between patients and health professionals. The aim of this study was to examine the attitudes toward MC, its perceived efficacy, side effects and risk of dependency, among patients, nurses and physicians. A cross-sectional study of samples of 430 patients, 65 nurses and 65 physicians in two large medical centers in Israel. Questionnaires were administered on attitudes, perceived efficacy, side-effects and perceived risks of dependency. Compared with nurses and physicians, patients who were using MC had the most positive attitudes toward MC (p less then .001). Younger age, high school education, being Jewish and ever using MC, were associated with more positive attitudes toward MC among patients (p less then .001). Among nurses and physicians, having an oncology specialty predicted more positive attitudes toward MC. Physicians had a less positive attitude toward MC compared to nurses (p less then .01). Our study provides evidence that physicians are less positive in their views toward MC compared to nurses and patients. More information and awareness to MC may reduce the gap in perceptions between physicians and patients.Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide in terms of both incidence and mortality. Persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) has been identified as a cause of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and invasive cervical cancer. The distribution of human papillomavirus genotypes varies regionally. To acquire baseline data on the population-based prevalence and genotype distribution of HPV infection, we investigated the molecular epidemiology of HPV infection among women in Xi'an, China. The study was conducted from September 2018 to December 2020. A total of 14,655 women aged 30-65 years were screened. The overall prevalence of HPV infection was 13.5% (95% confidence interval [CI] 13.0-14.1%), with 10.4% of participants being positive for a single HPV type and 3.1% being positive for multiple HPV types. The prevalence of high-risk HPV (HR-HPV), low-risk HPV (LR-HPV) and mixed HPV infection was 10.1% (95% CI 9.6-10.5%), 2.2% (95% CI 2.0-2.4%), and 1.3% (95% CI 1.1-1.
