The current discussion on the impacts of food systems on human and environmental health highlights the importance of training professionals who can work on the development of the future agenda that can incorporate the complexities of nutrition into policies, research, and the rendering of services relevant to the community. This paper presents the conclusions reached at a Brazilian event in 2018 that brought together specialists on the subject, namely students and qualified specialists in nutrition committed to understanding and identifying aspects of the training that limit professional performance. Necessary requirements were identified for the development of the workforce in nutrition, including specific knowledge, a set of specific technical skills to deal with this scenario and, lastly, the necessary dialogue with other specialized areas of knowledge. Ten recommendations on the characteristics of the curriculum and practices of the professional category that could foster the construction of the necessary skills were highlighted. The recommendations may contribute to successful training actions in nutrition in the light of the growing need for alignment with the current problems of Food and Nutrition Security and full attainment of the Sustainable Development Objectives. The aim of this essay is to provide a brief reflection on the contemporary ethics imposed on the body, which points to a growing responsibility and obligation of the individual regarding healthy and correct ways of living. The central object of analysis is the body constitution in modernity, in a space of technical intervention, problematizing contemporary forms of body care, such as diets and physical exercises, which express taxonomies that come from the matrix of meanings in modernity. This study analysed the quality of information published on the internet regarding 4 benzodiazepines that are widely used in Brazil alprazolam, bromazepam, clonazepam and diazepam. This choice is justified by the fact that these drugs are widely used and can generate chemical dependency, and the internet is an important source of information about them. We analysed 20 sites for each drug. More than half (56.3%) of the sites were classified as deficient or very deficient. The most frequent problems with the sites were the absence of a description of the person responsible for the site (60%), incomplete information (62.5%), the absence of a contact for additional information (45%) and the absence of the last date the site was updated (82%). These results reinforce concerns regarding the quality of the health information published on the internet, which has already been noted in the literature, and the need to adopt minimum quality criteria for this information. On 31st May of every year, in honour of the 'World No Tobacco Day (WNTD),' the international community does organise various events and encourages avoiding all forms of Tobacco consumption. To commemorate WNTD-2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) has promoted awareness to highlight the link between Tobacco and cardiovascular disease (CVD). #link# Because, Tobacco use is the second leading cause of CVD, after high blood pressure. In addition to CVD, Tobacco use is also known to cause many non-communicable diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and other complicated disorders caused by smoking. In fact, non-communicable diseases are now emerging as the primary disease burden. Globally, Tobacco use kills about 7 million people each year, and if the trend remains the same, then it will kill more than 8 million people per year by 2030. On the contrary, despite promoting awareness, the Tobacco industry is growing with little or no regulation. However, in the long run, the global community will not be able to afford business as usual as Tobacco has a direct impact on human health, environmental health and sustainable development.Bisphenol A (BPA) is a substance extensively used in daily life, mainly in plastic materials. This study assessed the exposure of university students to endocrine disruptor BPA, their knowledge about this substance and the damage it causes to human health. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study carried out with 500 students from a University in Curitiba. The sample was selected proportionally to the three major areas of knowledge, and the courses interviewed were drawn at random. Students were asked to fill out an objective questionnaire consisting of three parts socioeconomic, assessment of exposure and knowledge tests. Of the respondents, 91.3% consume food stored in plastic packaging, 90.06% use drinks in this type of container and 84.8% consume canned food/drinks. However, only 19.8% have heard of BPA and 97.2% do not know about the relationship between exposure to BPA and endocrine changes. A high rate of exposure to BPA and a low level of knowledge on the subject was detected. This disproportion highlights the need for more in-depth research on the topic among the Brazilian population, in addition to broadening dissemination of information measures on the issue.Information Technology (IT) has become fundamental in the provision of healthcare services, encompassing the entire gamut of aspects involved in the area. For this reason, IT can make a significant contribution to the performance of health organizations. There is a knowledge gap about how to introduce and implement improvements in these technologies, one of the reasons cited being the lack of studies on the topic of Evaluation of the Performance of Information Technology in health. The objective of this work is to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on the subject, by conducting a systematic review using Proknow-C (Knowledge Development Process-Constructivist). By means of the analysis of production metrics, it was seen how the studies comprised in the Bibliographical Portfolio of research represent the area of knowledge investigated. Based on a systematic analysis of the content of these publications, it was possible to ascertain the knowledge gaps still existing in the area. As a limitation of the study, the constructivist nature of Proknow-C is the main issue and, in the suggestions for future research, it is recommended that, based on the analysis performed, the knowledge gaps identified be filled. The objective of this study was to analyze in the literature how the applications were developed and how they influence the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). PubMed, CAPES Periodicals and Bireme databases were searched using the descriptors sexually transmitted diseases and mHealth combined by the Boolean connector AND. The search considered studies published between 2013 to 2017 available online in Portuguese and English. The results of the studies showed formative research was the most used method and focus group was the most used technique for data collection in the development of an application. This technique aims at the exchange of experience and allows discussion about issues inherent to infections. The applications were built with methodological rigor with the participation of users and with instructional resources that influence the management of the prevention and control of infections. The More Doctors Program (PMM) launched in 2013 has set major changes in the health sector in motion. However, https://www.selleckchem.com/products/lmk-235.html in its operation have been noted in recent years due to a range of social and political events. This article seeks to identify and analyze the repercussions of the PMM in the Brazilian media after the impeachment occurred in 2016. It is an exploratory study based on the analysis of the subject matter gathered from the identification, selection and analysis of news coverage published in three newspapers with widespread circulation throughout Brazil (Jornal O Globo, Folha de São Paulo and Estadão), in the period from August 2016 to June 2018. The data collected were processed using Iramuteq software. The results reveal that the Cuban physicians and issues related to medical education and governability of the PMM were at the center of public news attention after the impeachment, with social actors beginning to defend new stances. link2 Thus, although the implementation of the PMM is already well advanced and has popular support, important changes are being made and require thorough evaluation, seeking to guarantee the rights already acquired. This article deals with exploratory research with the objective of analyzing the discourse of the Family Health Strategy (ESF) logo in the light of the concept of the contemporary family. The analysis was made using the "Semiolinguistic" theory of Patrick Charaudeau of the French School of Discourse. The result revealed a discursive framework with important restrictions regarding the act of language as the monologue aspect of the process and a subject of non-institutional speech constituted by the advertising agent hired by the Ministry of Health. In the analysis, a discrepancy was found between the verbal content that shows the expression "Family Health" tending to the comprehensiveness of the policy implemented by the ESF, when compared with the image aspect, the elements of which demonstrated the predominance of the traditional family. The relevance of multiple contexts, such as cultural, social and gender aspects, which influenced the interpretation of mixed texts, was studied. The need to reformulate the brand was pointed out to make it more comprehensive and consistent with the new contemporary family formats. Future studies are suggested that address the limiting character implicit in the concept behind the logo in a more critical and incisive manner. This study aimed to undertake a comparative analysis of the journalistic coverage of the National Health System (SUS) by "Folha de São Paulo", and the National Health System (SNS) by "El País". This qualitative study was anchored in the news values theory focusing on selection and construction news values and content analysis. All the contents published during 2013 of both newspapers were analyzed. "Folha" brought 88 covers, with 100 cover stories in total, and "El País" had 37 covers and 39 cover stories. "Folha's" coverage focused on the "Mais Médicos" program, while most of the news in El País focused on the privatization of the Spanish public health system. The most important news value in both was related to government. link3 As a second category, in "Folha", controversy prevailed, focusing on the clash between the Federal Councils of Medicine and the Ministry of Health. Impact was the second most popular category in the Spanish newspaper. Concerning the news values of construction, we found that the newspapers used diverse resources. "Folha" adopted simplification in its approach, whereas "El País" invested in personalization and dramatization to sensitize readers with accounts of users, where the background was often the privatization process of health care services. We estimated the prevalence of the Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) and its components in the Brazilian population according to sociodemographic factors. This is a cross-sectional population-based study that used laboratory data from the National Health Survey. We estimated the prevalence of MetS and its components with 95% confidence intervals and the unadjusted and adjusted prevalence ratio (PR) with the Poisson regression. MetS prevalence ratio was 38.4%. High waist circumference (WC) (65.5%) and low HDL cholesterol (49.4%) were the most prevalent components, including in the youngest people. MetS and its components were more frequent among women (41.8%), individuals with low schooling (47.5%), and older adults (66.1%). In the adjusted analysis, females (PR = 1.16; 95% CI 1.08-1.24), older adults (PR = 3.69; 95% CI 3.26-4.17), and low schooling (PR = 1.32; 95% CI 1.17-1.49) were associated with MetS. MetS was prevalent in the Brazilian population, especially among women, individuals with low schooling, and older adults.
