A prescription review was performed for all patients at inclusion. Other clinical pharmacy activities (additional prescription review, pharmaceutical interviews, medication reconciliation) were dedicated to "high-risk" patients. Potential medication errors (ME), either pharmaceutical interventions (PI) or unintentional discrepancies (UID), were recorded. The potential clinical impact of PI was evaluated by a pluriprofessional expert panel using a validated tool.

In the 455 patients included, 955 potential ME were detected, that is ≥1 potential ME for 324/455 (71%) patients. In acute care, 561 PI were formulated during prescription review for 440/455 (97%) patients and 348/561 (62%) were accepted by physicians. Medication reconciliation was performed for 213 patients, 316 UID were identified. In rehabilitation units, a second prescription review was performed for 112/122 (92%) "high-risk" patients, leading to 61 PI. The clinical impact was evaluated for 519/622 (83%) PI. A consensus was obtained for 310/519 (60%) PI 147/310 (47%) were rated as having minor clinical impact, 138/310 (45%) moderate, 22/310 (7%) major, 2/310 (0.6%) vital, and 1/310 (0.3%) null.

In this study, in silico molecular docking of 5 terpenoids derived from high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis of A. find more precatorius seeds against α-synuclein, catechol-o-methyltransferase, and monoamine oxidase B which are markers of PD was performed using Autodock vina. The absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADME/Tox) of the hits were done using Swiss ADME predictor and molecular dynamic (MD) simulation of the hit-protein complex was performed using Desmond Schrodinger software. Five out of 6 compounds satisfied the ADME/Tox parameters and showed varying degrees of binding affinities with selected proteins. Drimenin-α-synuclein complex showed the lowest binding energy of -9.1 kcal/mol followed by interaction with key amino acid residues necessary for α-synuclein inhibition. The selection of this complex was justified by its stability in MD simulation conducted for 10 ns and exhibited stable interaction in terms of root mean square deviation (RMSD) and root mean square deviation error fluctuation (RMSF) values.
This study aimed at investigating the factors influencing clinical drug trial participation by pregnant women and their spouses.

This hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted at Women's Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, from July to September 2020. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to pregnant women and their spouses in the maternity ward. The questionnaire consisted of two sections The first part was aimed at collecting demographic information data while the second part consisted of 10 open-ended questions regarding clinical drug trial knowledges, financial compensation, risk awareness, psychological impact, and pregnancy outcomes.

A total of 206 questionnaires (115 from pregnant women and 91 from their spouses) were included in the statistical analysis. About 50% of pregnant women and their spouses had heard of clinical trials (50.43% vs 49.45%, p=0.888). Compared to their spouses, the proportion of pregnant women who thought that there is a need for the deve pros and cons of their involvement.
Yinqin oral liquid (YOL) has curative effect for upper respiratory tract infections, especially for chronic pharyngitis (CP). Since the traditional Chinese herbal formulae are complicated, the pharmacological mechanism of YOL remains unclear. The aim of this work was to explore the active ingredients and mechanisms of YOL against CP.

First, the profile of putative target of YOL was predicted based on structural and functional similarities of all available YOL components, which were obtained from the Drug Bank database, to the known drugs using TCMSP. The chemical constituents and targets of honeysuckle, scutellaria, bupleurum and cicada were searched by TCMSP, CTD, GeneCards and other databases were used to query the CP-related genes, which were searched by UniProt database. Thereafter, the interactions network between compounds and overlapping genes was constructed, visualized, and analyzed by Cytoscape software. Finally, pathway enrichment analysis of overlapping genes was carried out on Database for Ant for anti-inflammation, through the NF-kB pathway.
To evaluate a deep learning-based method to autonomously detect dry eye disease (DED) in anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) images compared to common clinical dry eye tests.

In this study, 27,180 AS-OCT images were prospectively collected from 151 eyes of 91 patients. Images were used to train and test the deep learning model. link2 Masked cornea specialist ophthalmologist diagnoses were used as the gold standard. Clinical dry eye tests were performed on patients in the DED group to compare the results of the model. The dry eye tests performed were tear break-up time (TBUT), Schirmer's test, corneal staining, conjunctival staining, and Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI).

Our deep learning model achieved an accuracy of 84.62%, sensitivity of 86.36%, and specificity of 82.35% in the diagnosis of DED. The positive likelihood ratio was 4.89, and the negative likelihood ratio was 0.17. The mean DED probability score was 0.81 ± 0.23 in the DED group and 0.20 ± 0.27 in the healthy group (P < 0.01). The deep learning model accuracy in the diagnosis of DED was significantly better than that of corneal staining, conjunctival staining, and Schirmer's test (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the deep learning diagnostic accuracy and that of the OSDI and TBUT.

Based on preliminary results, reliable autonomous diagnosis of DED with our deep learning model was achieved, when compared with standard dry eye clinical tests that correlated significantly more or similarly to diagnoses made by cornea specialist ophthalmologists.

To compare changes in central retinal arterial equivalent (CRAE), central retinal vein equivalent (CRVE), arteriovenous ratio (AVR), tortuosity and fractal dimension in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) and in a control group (CG) on fundus photographs. Further, to provide further evidence of vascular change in glaucoma patients using a novel method of tortuosity.

The primary endpoint was the change in CRAE, CRVE, AVR, fractal dimension and tortuosity of the retinal vasculature from baseline, retrospectively analyzed from 2011 to 2017 at the University Eye Hospital Tuebingen. Fundus photos of POAG (N = 49), NTG (N = 38) and CG (N = 18) were computer evaluated and analyzed in the quantities mentioned above.

CRAE in NTG and POAG and CRVE in NTG significantly decreased (P = 0.02, P = 0.01; P = 0.03) whereas CRVE in POAG increased insignificantly (P = 0.72). In NTG, AVR decreased significantly (P = 0.05), but to a lesser extent than in POAG (P < 0.001). In CG, CRAE decreasiously established methods for analyzing tortuosity.
To study the current practices in Jordan regarding cataract surgical procedures and anesthesia trends for cataract surgery.

A cross-sectional survey of members of the Jordanian Ophthalmology Society was conducted in October 2020. The questionnaire included questions about participants' demographics, the preferred surgical techniques for cataracts, the preferred anesthesia technique for cataract surgery, the factors which affect the choice of anesthesia technique, the use of sedation, who gives the anesthesia, if there is an anesthesia-trained person who observes the patient during cataract surgery, and the changing trends towards anesthesia between the surgeons.

More than half of the respondents (59.1%) had been in practice for more than 5 years. The preferred method for routine cataract was phacoemulsification for most participants (98.4%). For mature cataract, phacoemulsification was the preferred method for 61.4% of participants. More than half (55.1%) used topical with intracameral anesthesia for phion while retrobulbar anesthesia is the most common for extracapsular cataract extraction.
To evaluate the visual outcomes, contrast sensitivity, reading performance and patient satisfaction after bilateral implantation of AT LARA extended depth of focus (EDoF) intraocular lenses (IOLs).

Patients undergoing phacoemulsification for age-related cataract and satisfying the eligibility criteria underwent bilateral implantation with AT LARA EDoF IOLs (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany). link3 At follow-up visits of 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, binocular uncorrected and corrected distance, intermediate and near visual acuity, reading performance, defocus curve, contrast sensitivity and patient satisfaction for dysphotopsia and spectacle independence were evaluated.

A total of 60 eyes from 30 patients with a mean age of 65.40±7.71 years were included in the study. At 12 months, 83% of patients (n=25) had binocular cumulative uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) of 20/20 or better. Postoperative spherical equivalent refraction accuracy was within ±0.50 D for 95% of eyes (n=57) and refractive cylinder accuracy was within ≤0.50 D in 95% of eyes (n=57). The mean binocular uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA) was 0.16±0.09 logMAR, and the mean uncorrected intermediate visual acuity (UIVA) at 60 and 80 cm was 0.01±0.09 and 0.03±0.08 logMAR, respectively, at 12 months. Reading speeds at 40, 60 and 80 cm showed improvement over time. No patient had complaints of severe dysphotopsia and none of the patients required glasses for any activity. No eye underwent YAG-laser capsulotomy for significant posterior capsule opacification at the end of mean follow-up.

In our limited experience of 30 patients at 12 months, AT LARA EDoF IOLs resulted in excellent visual outcomes for uncorrected distance, intermediate and near visual acuity. The incidence of dysphotopsia and spectacle dependence was low, resulting in good patient satisfaction.
