Stigma and negative attitudes towards people with mental illness are frequently found among nursing students. Interventions targeting mental illness stigma are the critical elements in altering the status. The aim of the present study was to examine the effects of the psychiatric-mental health education with role-play and real-world contact on stigma of nursing students towards people with mental illness in China. CRCD2 A single group pretest and posttest study design was adopted and total 373 students were recruited whilst 343 completed the course. We integrated the role-play and contact with patients in the routine psychiatric-mental health education. After the education was completed, the students' stigma towards people with mental illness were positively changed (pretest mean score of stigma 53.77, posttest mean score of stigma 49.01, 95% CI 2.63-6.87) and their willingness to care for the people with mental illness was also significantly increased (pretest mean score of willingness 5.45, posttest mean score of willingness 7.38, 95% CI -2.22--1.65). The psychiatric-mental health education especially with integrated role-play and real-world contact is an effective way to reduce nursing students' stigma and negative attitudes towards people with mental illness and increases their willingness to care for people with mental illness.Gitelman Syndrome (GS) is an inherited autosome recessive disorder syndrome, which can be caused by the gene mutations of solute carrier family 12 member 3 gene (SLC12A3). In present study, the urine cells (UCs) of a 7-year-old male GS patient with the homozygote SLC12A3 gene mutation p.T60M (c.179C > T) were reprogrammed into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) named WMUi021-A through the commercial Sendai virus reprogramming kit. The pluripotent markers OCT4 and SOX2 can be expressed positively in WMUi021-A, which can be differentiated into three germ layers in vitro as well as maintain a stable karyotype (46, XY).Dietary zinc (Zn) deficiency is widespread globally, and is particularly prevalent in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) is consumed widely in LMICs due to its high protein content, and has potential for use in agronomic biofortification strategies using Zn. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Zn biofortification on grain nutritional quality of 29 cowpea genotypes. Zn application did not increase cowpea yield. In 11 genotypes sucrose concentration, in 12 genotypes total sugar concentration, and in 27 genotypes storage protein concentration increased in response to Zn supply. Fifteen genotypes had lower concentrations of amino acids under Zn application, which are likely to have been converted into storage proteins, mostly comprised of albumin. Phytic acid (PA) concentration and PA/Zn molar ratio were decreased under Zn application. Six genotypes increased shoot ureides concentration in response to Zn fertilization, indicating potential improvements to biological nitrogen fixation. This study provides valuable information on the potential for Zn application to increase cowpea grain nutritional quality by increasing Zn and soluble storage protein and decreasing PA concentration. These results might be useful for future breeding programs aiming to increase cowpea grain Zn concentrations through biofortification.The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of 10 Hz repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in patients with schizophrenia using EEG microstates. Thirty-eight patients with chronic schizophrenia were included in a double-blind, randomized and sham-controlled trial (19 participants in the active group and 19 participants in the sham group) and received 10 Hz active or sham rTMS stimulation to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (left DLPFC) 5 days per week over for 4 weeks. Four classical microstate classes (i.e., classes A, B, C and D) were identified by clustering, and the parameters (i.e., duration, occurrence and contribution) of each class were computed. Our results showed that (1) after stimulation, the positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) positive scores decreased significantly in the active group; (2) the duration of the microstate of class C derived from EEG data decreased significantly in the active group; and (3) the change of the duration of class D in the active group was significantly higher than that in the sham group. Our findings demonstrated that 10 Hz active rTMS stimulation was beneficial to improving the positive symptoms of patients with chronic schizophrenia, and the EEG microstate could be an effective indicator of symptom improvements.Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is characterized by excessive preoccupation with imagined or slight physical defects in appearance. BDD is associated with cognitive impairments (attention, visual processing). Our study aims to evaluate the early neural responses (N100, P200) to prepulse inhibition (PPI) and prepulse facilitation (PPF), to investigate attentional processing of BDD in the auditory domain. Fifty-five adults took part 30 BDD patients and 25 healthy controls. We compared their brain responses to PPI and PPF by analyzing global field power (GFP), event-related potentials (ERPs) and their respective sources. BDD exhibited reduced N100 amplitudes compared to healthy controls in response to the startle tone elicited by both PPI and PPF, potentially suggesting impaired allocation of attention. Interestingly, the lower the GFP at the N100, the higher the BDD severity. Source reconstruction analysis showed reduced activation for BDD during the N100 time window in PPI. link2 Scalp responses and source activations in PPI were decreased overall compared to PPF, confirming the gating effect of PPI. link3 We provided evidence that the N100 may serve as an electrophysiological marker of BDD, predicting its severity. Our study demonstrated the potential of using ERPs combined with behavioural PPI and PPF protocols to advance our understanding of BDD pathophysiology.
Although previous studies have consistently demonstrated that neurocognitive and social cognitive impairments are commonly observed in schizophrenia, the neural substrates of deficits of cognitive function remain unclear, especially for the chronic schizophrenia. There has been little resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) study of cognitive function in chronic schizophrenia. In this study we aimed to investigate the changes of rs-fMRI signals with regional homogeneity (ReHo), and explore the correlations between abnormal regional activity and cognitive function in chronic schizophrenia.

Altogether 76 subjects, 37 patients with chronic schizophrenia and 39 normal controls matched approximately for age, gender and education level were enrolled. All subjects were evaluated psychotic symptoms by Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and cognitive function by Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST). Conventional MRI and rs-fMRI were performed in all subjects. Almost 200 million populations worldwide and approximately 60 million in India are facing F- contamination problem. Therefore, development of low-cost and highly sensitive colorimetric detector for F- ions using carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and metal salts is required. For this, CQDs were synthesized using flower waste from temples by green method and further characterized. CQDs-TiO2 complex solution color changes from green to black on addition of F- ions due to exchange of F- ions with hydroxyl ions of the solution. Absorption spectrum of CQDs-TiO2 complex solution depicts change in spectral graph on adding F- ions with the appearance of new band at approx. 550 nm. The color spectral as a function of F- ions concentration gave a linear response in the range of 2-8 ppm (R2 = 0.9808). The color change can be observed at 2 ppm after incubation of 5 min by naked eye. Developed colorimetric detector shows high selectivity with other ions (Cl-, Br-, I- and H2PO4-). The F- ion detection was done in different water samples collected from districts of Haryana using developed detector. The developed colorimetric detector allows wide range of F- sensing for water sample even at every low concentration i.e 2 ppm.
Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) secondary to vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia (VBD) was a rare condition. This paper reported a successful endoscopic-assisted microvascular decompression (MVD) for TN secondary to VBD.

A 53-year-old male with a history of myocardial infarction and heart failure complained of left refractory facial pain three years prior to admission. His pain was intermittent, electrical-like, severe, sharp, and radiated along the maxillary and mandibular branches. He used carbamazepine 600 mg daily. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed a neurovascular conflict between VBD and the left trigeminal nerve. The endoscopic-assisted MVD was indicated. The shredded neurosurgical sponges were interposed between VBD and trigeminal nerve. The 0° and 30° rigid rod-lens endoscope was used to explore and confirm the complete decompression. Postoperatively, TN was disappeared entirely. At a three-month postoperative, no facial pain and paraesthesia were found. The patient discontinued carbamazepine permanently.

MVD was still the most effective treatment. An inspection of root entry zone (REZ) and complete MVD with a solely operating microscope were challenging due to the massive diameter of VBD and multiple offending arteries behind the VBD. However, the wide viewing field and high-quality resolution of endoscopes allowed better visualization of REZ and neurovascular conflicts behind neural structures and least cerebellar retraction. This is essential in case of less potential space created by VBD.

Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma seen in childhood and adolescence. The most frequent sites are head and neck.

A young female with maxillary rhabdomyosarcoma involving region of maxillary sinus with skeletal metastases was primary treated acccording to RMS 2005 protocol. She received 9 cycles of chemotherapy. Primary tumor of maxillary sinus was surgicaly removed after 4 cycles of chemotherapy, with 6th cycle of chemotherapy a radical radiotherapy of primary tumor location and metastasis in spinal vertebras, ribs, pelvic bone and left femoral bone started what leads to complete regression of skeletal metastases. In course of maintenance therapy MRI scan showed 12 × 28 × 23 mm lesion in sacrum in the vicinity of right sacroiliacal joint with caracteristics of metastasis. Because the region of right sacroiliacal joint with bowel was already included in primary radiation treatment, tissue expander was laparoscopicaly inserted in lower pelvis to displace bowel loops from radiation field to prevent radiation enteritis.
