But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better.

This fridge is a good option, despite the slight blip. It features a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about par for the size of a French door refrigerator that costs this much. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a complete set of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from any place around the world. It also has numerous options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill it's an option in other GE refrigerators that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense simultaneously. It also has a vegetable compartment to keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors to ensure the best food preservation. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and makes an ice pyramid with only a little water. This fridge is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with a built-in appearance and top-of-the highest quality food preservation.

One of the nice things about this refrigerator is that its ice maker is in the freezer, which makes it easy to move the ice to the refrigerator to use as required. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which helps make it an attractive option.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
