Other than that, this fridge is a fantastic choice. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a fair amount of frozen foods compared to similar models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It comes with a decent size freezer in the left side. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to make a custom storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is attractive, too. The LED lighting is a nice feature. The in-door storage bins include a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls so you can set them for Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings to be a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and offers a ton of customization options. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It does offer an indicator on the fridge display to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear like a seamless part of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher longer and dual compressors for the best food preservation. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This fridge is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the best food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just a few degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction of a degree--this is key in preventing freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, achieving the desired initial set temperature within a matter of hours and keeping the temperature constant over the course of our tests.

Bosch is a household name known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's no surprise that Bosch counter depth refrigerator is one of them. Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. This app allows you to control and monitor your refrigerator remotely on your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is costly however, it offers excellent features and functionality at a fair price.

While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. It has a small shelf space, so you may require some creativity when storing tall items. The shelves are also not impervious to spills and could easily be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they must be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who require a lot of space in a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge features a standard French-door layout with gallon-sized door bins on each door, two rows of shelves for spill-capture and a set of sleeker drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice as needed. The freezer also features clever design features, such as sliding drawers that help you organize your belongings. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.


Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you manage the refrigerator's temperature, lighting, and more using your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we tested. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design let shorter people open them from the bottom. However, french door fridge freezers have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those looking to blend the look of a French door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also less expensive than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it a desirable option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune and isn't expensive, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a simple fridge that might not be as attractive like some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make it a an excellent option. Its main characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water and ice maker dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which sits over the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. This drawer allows you to redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a solid performance but doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of stainless steel with a grey body with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks, even compared to glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
