Metatinib tromethamine tablet (metatinib) is a small molecule receptor kinase inhibitor targeting both c-MET and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2. This phase I trial aimed to determine the dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) and maximum tolerated dose (MTD), pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy of metatinib in patients with advanced solid tumors.
Eligible patients received a single dose of metatinib in a 3 + 3 dose-escalation design with dose levels of 25-800 mg/day, after a single dose on day 1, then 2 days off, and then a multidose schedule of once-daily doses for 25 consecutive days (days 4-28). Primary endpoints were MTD and safety; secondary and exploratory endpointimination half-life of SCR-1510 was approximately 2.0-3.0 hours and ranged from 8 to 14 hours. Two patients had partial responses. The objective response rate and disease control rate (DCR) were 11.1% and 61.1%, respectively. The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 2.75 months.

To date, no specific therapeutic drug or vaccine for treating COVID-19 and SARS has been FDA approved. Previous studies suggest that berberine, an isoquinoline alkaloid, has shown various biological activities that may help against COVID-19 and SARS, including antiviral, anti-allergy and inflammation, hepatoprotection against drug- and infection-induced liver injury, as well as reducing oxidative stress. In particular, berberine has a wide range of antiviral activities such as anti-influenza, anti-hepatitis C, anti-cytomegalovirus, and anti-alphavirus. As an ingredient recommended in guidelines issued by the China National Health Commission for COVID-19 to be combined with other therapy, berberine is a promising orally administered therapeutic candidate against SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. The current study comprehensively evaluates the potential therapeutic mechanisms ofberberine is a promising candidate in preventing and treating COVID-19 and SARS. Given the high oral bioavailability and safety of berberine nanomedicine, the current study may lead to the development of berberine as an orally, active therapeutic against COVID-19 and SARS.
Physical activity has been commonly measured as time spent in bouts of at least 10 minutes, however, each minute of physical activity achieved in a day is now regarded as beneficial. This study aims to compare differences in total time spent walking in a week to time spent walking in 10-minute bouts over the same seven-day period.
Two self-reported measures of time spent walking were compared one using time-constrained bouts and the other using total minutes. The first measure comes from the validated Active Australia Survey and reports walking in bouts of 10min or more, the second measure reports total estimated time spent walking.
Data from 4,582 university participants in a census-styled survey were analysed. When comparing the reported minutes of walking in either 10-minute bouts or total minutes, more walking occurs in short bursts with a difference of 117min/week (p<0.001).
This result shows more walking is reported across a week in short bursts of less than 10 minutes. Implications for public health To monitor trends and evaluate physical activity interventions, reliable and valid measures of physical activity are necessary. Our result questions the usefulness of reporting bouted-walking as a measure which accurately captures population behaviour.

It is very important to accurately assess the transannular patch (TAP) in the surgical treatment of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). The pulmonary annulus index (PAI; the actual pulmonary annulus diameter divided by the expected pulmonary annulus diameter), GA ratio (the ratio of pulmonary annulus and aortic annulus), PAAI (the ratio of pulmonary annulus cross-section and aortic annulus cross-section), and pulmonary annulus Z score (PA Z score) were compared. This study aimed to analyze and explore the application value of PAI in predicting the need for TAP in children undergoing TOF repair.
In total, 130 patients who were diagnosed with TOF and underwent TOF repair in Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University from December 2018 to December 2019 were retrospectively studied. In total, 112 cases were included in this study and18 cases were excluded, of which 16 cases were aged above18 years and 2 cases suffered from Down syndrome. They were divided into TAP group and no TAP group; the valuning it with the main pulmonary artery Z score was the most accurate method of prediction.A long-term exposure outdoor microcosm study was conducted to evaluate the effects of zinc (Zn) on zooplankton, phytoplankton, and periphyton in a freshwater system. Five Zn treatment concentrations (nominal 8, 20, 40, 80, and 160 μg/L Zn) and an untreated control with 3 replicates each were used. Various physical and chemical characteristics of the microcosms and biological assessment endpoints (e.g., total abundance, group abundance, species richness, chlorophyll a, etc.) were measured to determine the effects of Zn over time. In general, physical and chemical characteristics (e.g., total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, pH, dissolved organic carbon) of water fluctuated over time, but they were not significantly different within treatments and controls during the study. Zinc significantly affected the population dynamics and community structure of plankton. The effects occurred 7 d after initial treatment exposures began and continued to the end of the treatment phase, especially at the high treatment concentrations. Total and group abundance, species richness, the Shannon index, and chlorophyll a concentrations for high Zn treatment concentrations were significantly lower than the controls during the treatment phase. The no-observed-effect, lowest-observed-effect, and median effect concentrations were generally lower than the literature-reported results from single-species toxicity tests for fish and invertebrates, suggesting that plankton are more sensitive to Zn than planktivores. Although primary producers play an important role in the ecosystem, they have not been consistently incorporated into numerical environmental quality criteria for freshwater organisms, at least in the United States. The results of the present study are useful for development of environmental quality guidelines for freshwater ecosystems and ecological risk assessment. However, the contribution of these major drivers to population declines varies by the presence or absence and the interactive effect of drivers, thus creating local challenges for conservation of populations. Studies have determined that environmental contaminants contribute to amphibian population declines. However, there is a disagreement over the use of amphibians as sentinel species in ecotoxicological testing rather than the traditional taxa used, fish and invertebrates. Reviews of ecotoxicological studies have demonstrated that amphibians are generally less sensitive than fish and invertebrates to different groups of contaminants. Nonetheless, because of the distinct nature and mechanism of toxicity of various contaminants, it is necessary to study contaminants individually to be able to come to any conclusion on the relative sensitivity of amphibians. This change in sagittal pelvic tilt (SPT) can result in prosthetic impingement and dislocation. Our aim was to determine the magnitude of SPT change that could lead to prosthetic impingement. We hypothesized that the magnitude of SPT change that could lead to THA dislocation is less than 10° and it varies for different hip motions. Hip motion was simulated in standing, sitting, sit-to-stand, bending forward, squatting and pivoting in Matlab software. The implant orientations and SPT angle were modified by 1° increments. The risk of prosthetic impingement in pivoting caused by increased pelvic retroversion (reciever operating characteristic [ROC] threshold as low as 1-3°) is higher than the risk of prosthetic impingement with increased pelvic anteversion (ROC threshold as low as 16-18°). Larger femoral heads decrease the risk of prosthetic impingement (odds ratio OR 0.08 [932 mm head]; OR 0.01 [36 mm head]; OR 0.002 [40 mm head]). Femoral stems with a higher neck-shaft angle decrease the prosthetic impingement due to SPT change in motions requiring hip flexion (OR 1.16 [132° stem]; OR 4.94 [135° stem]). Our results show that overall, the risk of prosthetic impingement due to SPT change is low. In particular, this risk is very low when a larger diameter head is used and femoral offset and length are recreated to prevent bone on bone impingement.
