Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common in patients with bilateral temporomandibular joint ankylosis (TMJA). The purpose of this study was to compare the preoperative and postoperative apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) in patients with TMJA undergoing bilateral gap arthroplasty (BGA).

Inclusion criteria were 45 to 85 years of age, community-dwelling, and living near one of the 11 data collection sites across 7 Canadian provinces. Presenting binocular visual acuity was measured using the Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy study chart. Incidence of VI was defined as the development at follow-up of visual acuity worse than 20/40 in those with acuity better than or equal to 20/40 at baseline.

To evaluate visual acuity (VA) outcomes, prognostic factors, and changes in disease severity in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) undergoing cataract surgery.

Retrospective cohort study PARTICIPANTS Patients with AMD or healthy control patients who underwent cataract surgery between 2012 and 2017.

We compared 216 iAMD, 35 GA, and 184 nAMD eyes with 130, 31, and 129 controls.
