For tigecycline, 19 isolates were resistant through dis diffusion test while 20 isolates cross the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration value from E test. The reliability of the E-test and disc diffusion was 0.920, which represent strong agreement between E- test and dis diffusion test.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in developing countries. Cervical cancer generally develops slowly over a period of 10-15 years. Incidence and mortality related to cervical cancer both have declining in developed countries because of effective screening programs through Papanicolaou smear. Therefore, cervical cancer can be prevented through implementation of different methods of screening programs like visual inspection of cervix with application of acetic acid visual inspection with acetic acid, liquid based cytology and human papilloma virus deoxyribonucleic acid. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of visual inspection with Acetic Acid with liquid based cytology in cervical cancer screening taking cervical biopsy as a gold standard.

The study was conducted at Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Kathmandu. One hundred forty four patients underwent visual inspection with acetic acid and liquid based cytology test followed by biopsy for confirmation of the lesion, when required. Data were obtained and statistically analyzed.

Out of 144 screened patients, 62 (43.05%) were positive in visual inspection with acetic acid test. Eighteen (12.5%) cases were positive in liquid based cytology. Thirteen women were positive with both tests. Thirty-nine cases underwent histopathological examination including 13 cases who were positive in both tests. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for visual inspection with acetic acid was 81.25%, 65.22%, 61.90% and 83.33%, whereas for liquid based cytology it was 100%, 91.30%, 88.89% and 94.87% respectively.

Illnesses impose a huge economic burden on individuals and families. Costly health care also discourages people from using health services thereby generating prolonged or worsened health problems. The recently endorsed National Health Insurance Policy forecasts the integration of all social health protection schemes thereby ultimately achieving universal coverage. The aim of this study was to find out the awareness of health insurance and evaluate source of information about health insurance.

A cross sectional study was conducted on 385 participants from 5 randomly selected wards of Bhaktapur Municipality on July 2019. Households with health insurance were selected. The interview was taken either from the head of the family or the family member who takes financial decisions in the house. Face to face interview was taken in local language (Newari). Good and poor categories on awareness were developed. Descriptive statistics was applied.

Pelvic organ prolapse is a significant public health problem in Nepal affecting a large number of women. This study was carried out to identify the factors associated with pelvic organ prolapse among the women of eastern part of Nepal.

This was a matched case-control study. Cases were women aged ?15 years with at least one parity having stage 2 and above pelvic organ prolapse attending Gynecology OPD of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan and the control were the women without prolapse with at least one parity in neighborhood matched with age. A total of 230 respondents (1 Case1 Control) were included in the study. A semi structured interview was carried out to obtain the information for both groups. Bivariate analysis along with conditional logistic regression analysis was carried out to identify the association between selected variables with pelvic organ prolapse.

We found a significant association between age at first child birth (OR 1.98, CI 1.06-3.68), heavy load carrying during pregnancy (OR 3.97, CI 1.93-8.16), smoking (OR 3.49, CI 1.42, CI 8.61) and history of constipation (OR 3.57, CI 1.13-11.22) with pelvic organ prolapse.

There should be high index of suspicion for timely detection of any complications for safe trial of labor in case of vaginal birth after cesarean. Emergency obstetric care must be available. Even with these provisions the vaginal birth after cesarean rate is decreasing in Dhulikhel Hospital in recent years.

This retrospective study was conducted to compare different modes of delivery and pattern vaginal birth after cesarean in a gap of ten years in Dhulikhel Hospital (i.e. 2007 to 2009 versus 2017 to 2019). In this study factors associated with the successful vaginal birth after cesarean were also analyzed.

A total of 4215 deliveries conducted in the year 2007 to 2009, of them 890 (21.1%) were cesarean deliveries. Likewise altogether 9298 deliveries conducted in the year 2017 to 2019, of them 2849 (30.6%) were cesarean deliveries. Temsirolimus Vaginal birth after cesarean rate is significantly decreased from 18.33% (33/180) to 8.8% (63/713) (p value = 0.0004). Instrumental deliveries, normal vaginal deliveries were significantly decreased in comparison to these in the year 2007 to 2009.
