Exposure to phthalates, endocrine-disrupting chemicals commonly used as plasticizers and in consumer products, has been associated with infertility and premature ovarian failure. Our objective was to investigate whether urinary phthalate metabolite concentrations were associated with pre-ovulatory follicular fluid (FF) anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) concentrations in women undergoing fertility treatment. This cross-sectional analysis included 138 women with urinary phthalate data available in the Environment and Reproductive Health (EARTH) Study (2010-2016) in whom FF AMH concentrations were quantified using a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). We also quantified 8 phthalate metabolite concentrations using tandem mass spectrometry in 1-2 urine samples per cycle (total 331 urines) and calculated the cycle-specific geometric mean for each metabolite. We applied cluster-weighted generalized estimating equation models (CWGEE) to evaluate the associations of tertiles of urinary phthalate metabolite concentrations with log-transformed FF AMH concentrations adjusting for potential confounders. Study participants had median age of 34.0 years (IQR 32.0, 37.0), 83% were white, and median BMI of 23.1 kg/m2 (IQR 21.2, 26.1). The following stimulation protocols were used luteal phase agonist (70%), antagonist (14%), or flare (16%). Urinary concentrations of select phthalate metabolites were negatively associated with FF AMH. For example, women whose urinary mEOHP was in the lowest tertile (range 0.30-4.04 ng/ml) had an adjusted mean FF AMH of 0.72 ng/mL (95% CI = 0.36, 1.44), compared to women in the highest tertile (range 9.90-235), who had an adjusted mean of 0.24 ng/mL (95% CI = 0.12-0.48, p less then 0.05). The negative association between urinary concentrations of certain phthalate metabolites with FF AMH concentrations may have implications for antral follicle recruitment and fertility treatment outcomes.
The current evidence on health effects of long-term exposure to outdoor airborne black carbon (BC) exposure remains scarce.

To examine the association between long-term exposure to BC and mortality in a large population-based French cohort, with 28years of follow-up.

Data from the GAZEL cohort were collected between 1989 and 2017. Land use regression model with temporal extrapolation wa used to estimate yearly BC and PM
exposure at the residential addresses from 1989 until censoring for 19,906 participants. Time-varying Cox models with attained age as time-scale was used to estimate the associations between BC and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, after adjusting for individual and area-level covariates. To handle confounding by PM
, we used the residual of BC regressed on PM
as an alternate exposure variable. For all-cause mortality, we also examined effect modification by sex, smoking status, BMI and fruit/vegetable intake.

The median of 20-year moving average of BC exposure was 2.02 10
rging evidence that BC is a harmful component of PM2.5.
It is critical to determine the risk factors for activities of daily living (ADL) disability caused by locomotor dysfunction. However, no longitudinal study has investigated the association between disability due to locomotive dysfunction and multidimensional factors. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between the progression of functional capacity decline due to locomotive dysfunction and multiple physical functions among older adults in a longitudinal study.

The participants comprised of 433 community-dwelling older adults. Physical function was assessed at baseline, which included handgrip strength, maximal isometric strength of hip flexion, hip extension, hip abduction, knee extension, toe flexion (index for muscle strength), the 5-time chair-stand test (index for muscle power), the one-legged stance and timed ''Up & Go'' tests (index for balance function), the 30-s stair test (index for muscle endurance), and range of motion (ROM) (an index of joint condition). Functional capacity decline due to locomotive dysfunction was assessed using the 25-question Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale (GLFS-25) before and after a 12-month period. Based on changes in the GLFS-25 score compared with baseline, the non-decline and decline groups were operationally defined. Logistic regression analyses with the groups as the dependent variable and physical function as independent variables were performed.

Of the 433 participants, 189 (43.6%) were included in the decline group. Logistic regression analysis revealed hip flexor strength as a primary determinant in the progression of functional capacity decline.

These results suggest that among physical functions, hip flexor strength influences the progression of disability resulting from locomotive dysfunction in older adults.

We, therefore, hypothesized that a molecular breeding value for slice shear force, calculated based on CAPN1 and calpastatin (CAST) genotypes, would demonstrate an antagonistic relationship between genomically predicted slice shear force and ordinal calving date in replacement beef heifers. A secondary objective of this study was to evaluate the association of a polymorphism in diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase (DGAT1) with reproductive traits in beef heifers. One hundred eighty-seven MARC III heifers (¼ Angus, ¼ Hereford, ¼ Red Poll, and ¼ Pinzgauer) that had been selectively bred to increase the frequency of these polymorphisms were submitted for monthly ultrasound exams beginning at 333 d of age and continuing until the start of breeding to determine pubertal status. At the last exam before breeding, aeption or first calf birth date and birth weight in replacement beef heifers.Previous work has shown systemic knockdown of the long form prolactin receptor (LFPRLR) in vivo markedly reduced metastasis in mouse models of breast cancer, but whether this translated to prolonged survival was unknown. Here we show that LFPRLR knockdown in the highly metastatic, immunocompetent 4T1 model prolonged survival and reduced recruitment of T regulatory cells (Tregs) to the tumor through effects on the production of CCL17. For the Tregs still recruited to the primary tumor, LFPRLR knockdown both directly and indirectly reduced their ability to promote tumor parenchymal epithelial to mesenchymal transition. Importantly, effects of prolactin on expression of mesenchymal genes by the tumor parenchyma were very different in the absence and presence of Tregs. While systemic knockdown of the LFPRLR downregulated transcripts important for immune synapse function in the remaining tumor Tregs, splenic Tregs seemed unaffected by LFPRLR knockdown, as demonstrated by their continued ability to suppress anti-CD3/CD28-stimulated effector cell proliferation at 1-5 months. These results demonstrate that knockdown of the LFPRLR achieves intra-tumor immunotherapeutic effects and suggest this occurs with reduced likelihood of peripheral inflammatory/autoimmune sequelae.
Empirical research has demonstrated the academic, collaborative, and organizational benefits of Interdisciplinary Teaching. However, few studies have examined the effectiveness of Interdisciplinary Teaching in higher education, particular in healthcare education in Taiwan. In addition, there is no consensus on how the effectiveness of this form of teaching should be evaluated.

To evaluate the effect of Interdisciplinary Teaching on collaborative interactions for teams of nursing students.

A quasi-experimental study design employed pretest-posttest scores on measures of team collaboration to compare an Interdisciplinary Teaching intervention with a control group.

Capstone courses at two universities of science and technology in Taiwan, which focused on creating patentable healthcare-related products.

Nursing students (N=145) enrolled in capstone courses between September 2019 and January 2020 participated in this study. The intervention group (n=61) received creativity training from interdisciplinaryd enhance collaborative interactions and improve the ability of student teams to create novel, patentable healthcare products.
These findings suggest creativity training using Interdisciplinary Teaching benefited collaborative interactions for interactive behaviors and swift trust, and decreased relationship conflict for teams of nursing students. Interdisciplinary Teaching should be integrated into nursing students' curriculum, which could enhance collaborative interactions and improve the ability of student teams to create novel, patentable healthcare products.
To describe the inter-observer reliability of the General Movement Assessment (GMA) among a sample of infants at high-risk of cerebral palsy (CP) among raters with various levels of experience.

Video assessments of 150 high-risk infants at 10-15weeks corrected age were rated by three Prechtl GMA-certified observers with varied experience using the assessment. Videos were scored based on temporal organization of fidgety movements (FMs), presence of abnormal FMs, or absence of FMs. Inter-observer agreements were analyzed with Gwet's AC1 statistic.

We found fair to moderate agreement when subcategories of normal FMs (continuous and intermittent) were included (AC
=0.32-0.57) and moderate to near perfect agreement when normal categories of FMs were combined (AC
=0.60-0.95). Reliability was higher among observers with more experience using the GMA (AC
=0.57-0.98) than the observer with less experience (AC
=0.32-0.61).

Caution may be warranted when the GMA is used to differentiate "continuous and intermittent" FMs temporal organization. The GMA is highly reliable among experienced raters when comparing normal FMs to other FMs categorizations.

We provide an overview of current findings linking loneliness and social isolation to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, as well as to physical illnesses such as heart disease. We propose emotionally focused therapy for couples, families, and individuals to enhance the quality of people's emotional ties to significant others and their subjective sense of social connectedness. 3-Deazaadenosine datasheet We conclude by suggesting that the strengthening of emotional, interpersonal bonds, which is the primary focus of all forms of emotionally focused therapy, can help restore emotional balance, thereby protecting people from chronic feelings of isolation and the host of health problems that they can cause.
