Leisure, play and rest are not prioritized in either services for or research with people living in poverty. Purpose. We used community-based participatory research and art-based elicitation strategies with 39 service users at a food security organization. Findings. Individuals experiencing poverty value and engage in a variety of free and affordable leisure activities, but they are not afforded the necessary leisure opportunities, accommodations and supports as the general population. We co-created a map of local leisure resources to foster collective capacity in leisure planning, and to support organizations working with this population. Implications. Occupational therapists can work alongside members of underserved communities to uncover and address the systemic and local contextual barriers to engagement in leisure activities.
Adolescents with sports-related concussion (SRC) demonstrate acute and persistent deficits in subtle motor function. However, there is limited research examining related neurological underpinnings. This pilot study examined changes in motor-associated white matter pathways using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and their relationship with subtle motor function.
Twelve adolescents with SRC (12-17years) within two-weeks post-injury and 13 never-injured neurotypical peers completed DTI scanning. A subset of 6 adolescents with SRC returned for a follow-up visit post-medical clearance from concussion. Subtle motor function was evaluated using the Physical and Neurological Examination of Subtle Signs (PANESS).
Adolescents with SRC showed higher mean diffusivity (MD) of the superior corona radiata and greater subtle motor deficits compared to controls. Across all participants, greater subtle motor deficits were associated with higher (more atypical) MD of the superior corona radiata. Preliminary longitudinal analysis indicated reduction in fractional anisotropy of the corpus callosum but no change in the MD of the superior corona radiata from the initial visit to the follow-up visit post-medical clearance.
These findings support preliminary evidence for a brain-behavior relationship between superior corona radiata microstructure and subtle motor deficits in adolescents with SRC that merits further investigation.

Gastrointestinal endoscopy (GIE) represents a mainstay diagnostic and therapeutic procedure in clinical practice. Hypoxemia constitutes a major complication for endoscopists. Emerging evidence supports the utilization of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) over conventional nasal cannula (CNC) for avoidance of hypoxemia. Our aim was to compare the hypoxemia risk in patients undergoing GIE with HFNC versus CNC oxygen supplementation recruited by randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
We searched in medical databases PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane to identify RCTs investigating the abovementioned association. Enrolled studies were evaluated for risk of bias and inserted into a random effects model for meta-analysis; subgroup analyses and publication bias were also assessed.
Out of 271 articles, five RCTs were eligible (patients n=2656, HFNC 1299 and CNC 1357). A statistically significant reduced relative risk (RR) of hypoxemia among HFNC patients was revealed (RR=0.18, CI95% 0.05-0.61), whilst with high heterogeneiisk (or risk ratio).
Patients undergoing upper GIE with HFNC experience significantly less hypoxemia burden than CNC counterparts. Working memory impairment is common in patients in the chronic phase after acquired brain injury (ABI), and there is a need to develop efficacious rehabilitation methods. This trial explored the effects of two different computer-based cognitive rehabilitation (CBCR) programmes on working memory in the chronic phase after ABI, as well as the role of continuous support versus no support from a health professional on the efficacy of CBCR.
A total of 72 patients were randomized into four different groups for a 12-week intervention Two groups trained with the CBCR-programmes 'Cogmed' and 'Brain+ Health,' respectively, and one group completed active-control training. All three groups received continuous support from a health professional. The last group trained with the CBCR programme 'Brain+ Health' but received no support. Before and after the intervention, patients were tested with a neuropsychological battery of working memory, attention and executive functions.
Both CBCR-programmes improved working memory when administered with support from a health professional. The programmes improved different sub-components of working memory, possibly because of their individual content and design. None of the CBCR-programmes were more efficacious than sham-training with support. CBCR without support did not improve working memory in patients.

This article has reviewed the scientific literature related to the soccer goalkeeper as long as they offered specific information about this position on the field, including a total of 56 scientific articles.
The knowledge already recollected by authors to be able to apply it on training has been divided in the following chapters anthropometric profile, conditional and performance profile (sprint, jump, agility, strength, aerobic capacity, mobility, and specific game technique), external load profile, and injury pathological profile.
The most noteworthy conclusions obtained are 1) the higher the level of the team, the higher and heavier the goalkeepers; 2) in early ages (9-13years) the training of goalkeepers is not well posed, since compared to the players are worse both in physical capacities and technique; 3) the aerobic capacity at long distances does not influence the performance of the goalkeeper; 4) the sprint, the jump, the agility, and the mobility are factors that determine the performance of the goalkeeper; 5) the goalkeepers are less likely to be injured than the field players, but there are certain typical injuries in the position that must be protected by a proper way of strengthening and technique.

These optical sensing techniques are non-contact, noninvasive and relatively rapid, accurate, label-free and affordable. However, those techniques still have to overcome some challenges to be widely adopted in routine clinical diagnostics. This review summarizes and provides insights on recent advancements in research within the field of vibrational spectroscopy for medical diagnostics and its use in detection of many health conditions such as kidney injury, cancers, cardiovascular and infectious diseases. Economic vulnerability, mental health problems, polysubstance use, interpersonal victimization, and early use of drugs and alcohol were associated with firearm-related threat exposure.
